New location for Beet Jar! Excited to see how they furnish the space (seating will be added) because right now there is no where to linger. Regardless, very glad they have remained open during the transition from the previous location on 29th Street to Detroit Ave. Parking is unfortunately more difficult on Detroit so walking is a good move if you're coming from nearby. As for the juices, smoothies, and food...you honestly can't go wrong. The Black Metal smoothie is one of my favs as well as the chia seed pudding with strawberries and coconut. It's a great spot for all who are health conscious and even those who aren't. Go and enjoy!
Great selection vegan foods, smoothies, and juices. The Cleveland bagel special with a just egg and coconut bacon on a freshly baked bagel was amazing, tons of umami, great textures. Service was super speedy, but took a quick stroll of their storefront which included locally made pottery, cool custom designed shirts, and specialty food stuffs (think cardamom rose to top your lattes).
Oh dang, this place is awesome! Someone gave me a gift card so I decided to try it out today. I told the staff that I was going to be eating in my car and they suggested the Thanksgiving Wrap, so that's what I had. I also ordered the Black Metal Smoothie, because I figured I might as well use all the funds on the card. The Thanksgiving wrap was freaking delicious! It has soy curls, pureed sweet potato, romaine, cranberries, etc on it and my eyes rolled back into my head after the first bite because it was so stinking yummy. I didn't realize that the restaurant is vegan but I'm cool with that. The wrap was definitely big enough for a meal and I was absolutely stuffed after eating that and the smoothie, but oh well, better than leaving hungry. They have a large selection of smoothies, bowls, wraps/sandwiches, and pressed juices. They also have other goods for sale like organic soaps, cool t-shirts, spices, etc. I totally loved the vibe in here from the friendly staff, cool aesthetic, and tasty food. I'll definitely come back and try more menu items.
Gluten free and vegan... they never made it home. I finished both on my drive home from work. They were the perfect breakfast.

Everything sold is vegan and plant based which is wonderful and somewhat unique since I don't find many vegan options around Cleveland. I am not vegan but I do consciously try to eat less meat. SIDENOTE -- **Almost everything sold here is actually made in this tiny space and ingredients are all fresh. They only thing they don't make are the items for sale such as chickpea chips, Apple Cider Vinegar, etc** FOOD -- For vegans, I recommend trying the "Bravocado" sandwich ($9) which has smoked coconut flakes, avocado, greens, and house made cashew mayo. All of this goodness is served on toasted Sicilian bread. I got mine without the red onions since I hate onions. This sandwich is 100% delicious and I absolutely loved it. The crunchiness of the coconut mixed in with the cashew mayo and avocado is truly phenomenal. After I ate this at home, I was thinking that I need to buy some avocados and coconut flakes to make my own sandwich (seriously). There is a daily salad everyday for lunch as well if the sandwich is not your thing. They also have a fridge of pre-packaged meals and snacks such as the chia-pudding. I have yet to try the chia pudding but I read that it is delicious especially for breakfast. SNACKS - You must try the energy balls located at the front desk. It is expensive ($4) but they are big enough for a mid-afternoon 'pick me up'. I have had the peanut butter energy ball and I ate it after a workout. It was very tasty and it is also nutritious. They also have an almond butter energy ball with tart cherries. HOURS - They are opened from 7am - 6pm (weekdays) and from 8am - 2pm (weekends). Lunch is served between 11am - 2pm so come here early to grab the famous Bravocado sandwich. JUICES / DRINKS - I came here for a 2nd time the very next day after I got the Bravocado sandwich. I ordered the Strawberry Alarm Clock smoothie ($8). This smoothie is super refreshing. It comes with strawberries, banana, cacao, date, and cashew. As I sipped on the smoothie, I felt a big rush flow through me. So I believe this smoothie will definitely wake you up because it definitely gave me a kick of energy. There are a ton of other fresh juices in their fridge that is ready-to-go or you can order a smoothie made right in front of you. SERVICE - Excellent service. The gentleman who helped me behind the counter explained some menu items to me when I arrived on 23 February 2019. I chatted with Molly and Joseph as well, the owners. They were both lovely. I spoke with Molly again the very next day (24 Feb. 2019) when I came in. She was the one who made my strawberry smoothie. She is very hands-on and passionate about her business. Overall, I highly recommend Beet Jar Juice Bar for healthy, plant-based food, juices, smoothies, and snacks. It is expensive so I won't be coming here often but it is nice to have the option. To help with your budget, they have a loyalty program where you earn 1 star for every $4 spent. So if you spend $12, you will earn 3 stars. Hot damn! That was a tasty ass sammich! Sucks they're only open until 2pm but otherwise, an exceptional experience. Highly recommend! Definitely going back for breakfast soon.

Beetjar has become one of my favorite spots in Ohio City. We probably go at least once a week, especially since they moved to this new location by the Quarter. Their menu is amazing and offers so many unique options. I love the Bravocado as a sandwich and a wrap, as well as the summer teeth smoothie bowl. They'll make any substitutes or add-ins super easily, and they have a great little vegan grocery selection. All their vegan replacements are awesome! Not to mention the staff are so friendly and welcoming every time I go in. You can also grab some vegan pastries or Cleveland Bagel Company's bagels as available! Overall a great atmosphere and place to eat.

My wallet is honestly grateful there isn't a Beet Jar closer to me because I would go broke. I will absolutely rant and rave about their iced banana matcha. I've had it twice already and I'm planning another trip just to get it again. It's that good. If you like banana at all, try it in a matcha, trust me. The staff is so nice, and my Lordy, the place is so darn cute. It genuinely feels like walking into your cool aunt's apartment, the one who moved to New York and throws pottery on the weekends. It's just effortlessly cool and cozy at the same time. On my first visit, I even grabbed a t-shirt, and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more merch. I also tried the avocado toast, and it was perfectly seasoned. Go visit them. You won't regret it. read more
As ungodly pricey as the food et. al. is here, it is all fantastically delicious and there is a huge variety of very unique food and drink options. I got a delicious iced tahini latte! My almond butter "orb" was a large ball of almond butter, chia, and other ingredients and was like eating cookie dough! It was a whopping $5.50 and my drink was $9 though. read more

Yum! There are so many juice bars around, but I decided to go here as it was close to my destination. First off there only street parking so just be aware. This place is so cute and the staff is very friendly. They explained everything to me. I went at lunch time and ordered a salad with coconut flakes. The vegan ranch is out of this world. It does have a thicker consistency but the flavor is great! The salad was filled with all types of goodies. The juice was so fresh and cold. I love the glass bottles they use. If you bring it back you save $.50! This place is so friendly for vegans! Can't wait to go back! read more
Beet Jar is hands down my favorite cold pressed juice place in the city. I've traveled all over the country and stopped for juice along the way in places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York just to name a few. Beat Jar has products that rival all of them but they have something thing else I think only Cleveland can provide: approachability without sacrificing quality. There are other juice bars in Cleveland that just feel... dirty. You're not sure if reusable glasswarre is fully clean or you watch your juuice get poured out of a used plastic jug. Whether this is a common practice or not, it's not appetizing to watch out in the open. Beet Jar is super clean and fresh in both the way it looks and smells. Ive never had anything from here I don't like and I'm always greeted when I walk in the door. I most frequently go for the cashew milks. They have plain vanilla bean but my favorite is the blue majik.. it's THE BEST. Their energy orbs are great- I always get peanut butter but I'm dying to try the birthday cake. Last two things I'll add- they have awesome retail products that I can't fInd anywhere else. Special yogurt brands, limited edition kombucha flavors, and vegan meal options you can't easily find anywhere else and that's just in the cooler! They've got a pantry section too with supplements, candles, adaptogens and often local bowls or mugs. This place is just the bomb. I am NOT a vegan and I stop in here a lot. Just a great place for nutritious, fast options that meet a lot of dietary needs. read more
The hands down absolute best sandwich I have ever tried. Seriously go try this place, go NOW! The place is small but that's one of the things I really liked about it. You can either eat there or you can get the delicious food to go. Lets talk about their sandwich. Yes, you read that correctly...sandwich, not sandwiches. They only make one sandwich, yep only one....you might think that's crazy but honestly why would they need to make any more sandwiches if this is the best sandwich in the world!? The bread is perfectly toasted, the avocado is perfectly cut and ripe, the coconut is perfectly toasted made to taste almost like bacon. Oh man oh man was this sandwich delicious. Holy Moses (or in this case Joseph...that is the owner) this place is worth all the hype. What an absolutely adorable little vegan spot located in OC. Picture people wearing hemp, burning some incense and sitting on a crate eating chia pudding and laughing. That is what it feels like in this place. Organic, simple and just plain comfy. Joseph has an amazing personality and is super nice. He really takes time to get to know ya too. Rocking it Joseph! The Chia Pudding Jar is my new lover. Creamy, sweet and packed with simple flavors and fresh berries....this jar is a container of heaven. Seriously, it rocked my socks!!! I love the fact it comes in a mason jar to take home. The Peanut Butter and Tart Cherry Energy Orbz are a fun little treat. You just feel amazing after the first bite. CAUTION: Do not try to fly after eating this product. From personal experience, you do not gain that superpower....although you will feel like you can! I love that these little balls of goodness aren't too sweet, have that nice cherry tang and a very organic and earthy feel to them! I will definitely be back. Love this place! read more

Great juices but even more amazing sandwiches. The bravocado is phenomenal, never would have thought of putting coconut on a sandwich with avocado. We've had it a few times and always consistently good. I have had a few juices, carrot and different green juices, always great. Dark green juice sometimes is more lemon heavy than other times. Got the knuckle sandwich for a picnic by the river and it was really good, fresh veggies and nice balance of sauces. The bread they use for the sandwiches is really high quality/earthy seed bread. I fully enjoyed my visit to Beet Jar! The staff was very friendly when I walked in and explained the menu to me. All of the smoothies are made to order and they have a selection of juices in the fridge. The location is a pretty tiny store located off of Detroit in Ohio City, that being said it could be hard to find. Also, there isnt a lot of seating.. just a few bar top seats. I had the Berry Manilow smoothie (acai berry, strawberry, banana, blueberry, spirulina, coconut oil and cacao). It was very tasty and filling! I plan on coming back next time I am in town! read more
I really enjoy going to Beet Jar. The interior is cute, they play great music, and have awesome food obviously! Perviously, I have had their chia seed pudding and cashew mylk which were both wonderful. If I lived closer, I am sure that I would buy their cashew mylk aallllllll the time! Soo good! I decided that I would try the Bravocado sandwich the last time I was there and it was awesome. I didn't know what to expect but I was blown away! I love coconut, but these coconut flakes were out of this world. I highly recommend it! read more
I'm done. I am officially throwing in the towel. This foodie will eat no more. Why you might ask? Well isn't it obvious? Nothing will ever be as insanely delicious as Beet Jar's coconut bacon sandwich. So what is the point in living if you've already peaked? Ok ok, so that's a bit dramatic. But seriously though, have you had this sandwich? If you haven't you need to literally stop whatever you are doing, put some shoes on (if you aren't wearing any), but some pants on (again, if you aren't already sporting some) and get yourself to Hingetown, STAT. I think I saw my life flash before me when I first bit into this sandwich because I am fairly certain my heart stopped for a moment. I don't know if it is the perfect avocado to coconut ratio, or the beautifully toasted bread, but this sandwich should be illegal it's so addicting. The sandwich isn't the only reason to go to Beet Jar though, as you may have guessed by the name, they have juice too! I got the grapefruit/cayenne/lemon/orange juice when I went and it was so refreshing I had to force myself to not down in all at once. Basically, if you are human/breathing/alive you need to hit up Beet Jar. If I could I would give them way more than 5 stars so seriously: Go. Now. I'm serious. read more
You'll be hard-pressed to find a better cold-pressed juice bar as good at Beet Jar. That was the best pun I could think of. I'm not juice-cleanse gal--well, at least not week-long, juice only ones. But I think replacing a few meals once in a while with some fresh, local, organic, cold-pressed juices can be a great break for your body. And these folks do it right--no pasteurization in any way, shape or form. Just pulp squeezed to smithereens for the nutrient-rich juices which are then expertly blended for your enjoyment. For those of us who want to just stop by, grab a quick juice or two and move on with our day, this place is awesome. There's not a ton of space inside to hang out, but there is a large table up front with about 8 or so chairs. They also have freshly-made vegan sammies, desserts and raw cashew mylk! While it is quite pricey--I think you really get what you pay for here. I don't know if I'd ever do a complete cleanse with these or more than just a few meals a week. But again--great for those few replacement meals along your day. read more
Beet Jar Juicebar & Takeaway is the perfect place to go if you suddenly go on a health kick and want your soul to feel just as healthy as your food. The entire place reminded me of a juice bar that would be found on the show Portlandia. I really enjoyed this because Portlandia is one of my favorite shows! Walking in, there's a lot of beautiful, quirky and hipster artwork on the walls. The juice bar also has all kinds of preserved flowers placed throughout the space, which I thought were beautiful. I bought the cold pressed apple, orange and ginger juice, which really had a predominant ginger taste with undertones of orange. Although I enjoyed my drink choice, I probably won't buy it next time I visit because there were so many other great looking smoothies that I wanted to try them all! Many of the smoothies had puns in their names, like "Blue Reed" or "Berry Manilow," which I thought was really cute. I was very happy with my trip to Beet Jar Juicebar, and will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Dear CLE - get with the program and get down with cold pressed juice! I'm a juice-a-holic. Green juice. Beet juice. Cashew mylk. I like them all. They're a delicious way to replace a meal, do a juice cleanse, or just refresh your insides with an overload of healthy goodness. Beet Jar has a smorgasbord of juices and mylks in addition to vegan and gluten free snacks and sandwiches. On the day I dropped by, they were nearly sold out of everything (hooray for a great opening week!) but I was able to get a cereal cashew mylk and my boyfriend got a lavender cashew mylk. Both were delicious. (If you're not familiar with cashew mylk, it's like dessert in a bottle - but good for you!) And if my memory serves me right they were $8 or $9 - or $3 or $4 less than you'd pay for similar mylk/juice/etc. at Whole Foods. (and it's local - SCORE!) Sure, this is a littler pricier than the processed, not as good for you juices you'll find at Giant Eagle, but there's really no comparing cold pressed juice to any other juice. This neat little juice bar in Hingetown is worth checking out whether you're a juice head like me or just want to try some cold pressed juice to see what all they hype is about. read more

Beet juice bar's salad and sandwich was bomb! Lots of avocado on the sandwich and it had a really good cashew (I think) spread. The salad had lettuce, avocado & coconut flakes with a dressing that was really good and had a nice kick to it. The place itself is small, but has seating for maybe 5-10 people. The inside is very cute and the owner was nice. :) Most importantly, the sandwich was bomb. read more
Fresh, organic, delicious, amazing, yumminess! That's about all that needs to be said about Beet Jar. They cold press their juices using the freshest organic produce available, and it shows! Wow those juices are delicious. They also make a mean smoothie- The Cayenne West is a personal favorite. And lest I forget to mention...THE BRAVOCADO. I mean, come on, no sandwich should taste that good. You can pretty much put avocado on anything and I'll gobble it up gladly, but this sandwich is just another level. Every ingredient works so well, its perfect harmony in my mouth. Yeah, yeah, yeah it can be a little pricey. But you're paying for amazing quality and a business that actually cares about the quality of food they're serving. I gladly hand over my $25 for two juices and a sandwich and I'm on my way to flavor heaven. Just think of it as a once a week "Treat Yo Self". read more
