Great Food, Vine & Customer Service! I stopped in here for a quick bite with a friend before heading to an eye doctor appointment next door. I must say I really like the vibe of this place. Beeline Diner is one of diners that are retro-cool and has a neighborhood feel to it. It's very popular with the locals and folks that live around the area. I couldn't help but noticed how friendly the staff was and seemed to know their regular patrons. That's a great plus, in my book. The menu is loaded with lots of great options and your comfort food classics...including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. On this day, we tried the chicken & waffles and steak omelette. Both more delicious and was served fairly quick! The portions were great too definitely enough food to share. The check was tender, juicy and most of all.....seasoned!! lol The waffles were pretty standard on taste but I would say they fluffy and light. The steak omelette did not disappoint either. It was loaded with sirloin steak, cheese and onions! Every lift of my fork left me with bits of steak bites! My kind of meal for sure!!! The only negative about this dish is that the steak is not made to order or cooked to your preference (I.e. medium, medium rare, well done, etc.). Instead the steak it's already pre-cooked and I was told by the server that it is roughly around, medium-well. That might be okay for some, but I prefer my steak month medium side. Medium-well makes this dish and steak overcooked by the time it's delivered to you. This was the case for me. The sirloin steak was a bit on the tough side...as know as chewy. lol Other than this, I have nothing but great things to say about my first visit to this establishment. The customer service was on point and everyone was so friendly. This!...& the Chicken n' Waffles dish won me over. We left pretty full and satisfied....which was a little disappointing because the desserts in the display cases looked amazing and I really wanted to dive-in on one of them! In all, you can't go wrong with Beeline Diner. The food hits the spot and the price point is great too. We visited on a Sunday morning. We were immediately greeted and seated upon entering. The staff was very attentive and courteous. The food came promptly after a very short wait. I had the salmon dish was generally good - the Cajun roasted salmon was well seasoned but the sides on the plate were not. Recently I paid my second visit to Beeliner. This time around, it was decent. We came here a few years back and swore we would never come back because of both the food and service. But as they say, never say never. This latest time I came a little before noon on a Saturday. It was busy but there were still a few open tables. I was seated promptly and able to place my order quickly. I went with my default diner breakfast: country-fried steak. Beeliner serves a generous portion of country-fried steak. And that's only fair because I'd never paid $20 for a country fried steak breakfast before. Still, the steak was kinda salty. It definitely warmed the cockles of my heart that you can get tater tots here. Beeliner is a diner on steroids because they also have a bar with hard liquor. Overall, service, food and ambience were okay. But I'm skeptical that, as Beeliner's menu claims, Beeliner was voted best diner in Alexandria. read more

To bee or not to bee, that is the question. I had no expectations of Beeliner Diner before we got here. When I saw the diner, I knew I would enjoy it -- can you bee-lieve it? The mural, the hive-shaped lights, the bright yellow booths -- all conveyed a sunny, busy sensibility. I couldn't bee-lieve the towering cakes -- the tower cake -- six layers tall and the confetti cake was tall as well. I had a fish Sammy, with a buttery brioche bun, bunpapa? -- crispy fish and fries. My friend had a chicken sandwich and the other had a gyro salad. My friend liked the salad although thought the gyro slices were simply too thick. The tots were crispy and amazing. There are breakfast items, more sandwiches with bunpapa, ice cream, boozy milkshakes and those towering desserts. This was a fun diner -- make a beeline to the Beeliner Diner. The Berliner diner is unique. It's decorated with neon beehive lights and set as a modern diner. The service was good. They were not really busy so it was quiet. The food was good but not great. I had the burrito bowl. The flavor was good but the chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. Portions were a bit chewy. My son had the gyro platter. He did not like the green beans and his food was not hot. My best friend had the chicken skewers and they tasted fine but again not hot. Their dessert case looked amazing but we didn't try any. First of all Mathias our sever was so kind and helpful with our food selection. The food we tried was all so well seasoned - what a yummy surprise. My daughters grilled chicken was very flavorful and well portioned. My Alfredo pasta dish was pipping hot and saucey - the chicken went very well with it ... pro tip ask for an additional serving of Alfredo sauce to dip your garlic bread in it! My husbands smashed burger earned them the 4 out 5 stars - it was good flavor but not truly a smashed patty in essence, too thick to call it a smash. In addition the pickles that come inside were very tasty but studded with cloves - WHOLE cloves ... not a pleasant experience to sink your teeth into. We got the chicken and waffles, hash, a Bloody Mary, and an espresso martini that were all tasty! The cocktails were not light on the booze either! Got a slice of cake too so between two people this was more than enough for the meal at the diner and another at home. The fried chicken stayed crispy and tasty even after reheated at home! The waffle itself was fluffy and moist and super filling. Diner was super cute on the inside and we were greeted with great customer service that last through the entire experience. We visited this location once and it was ok. The service was great! We did catch them an hour before they were about to close, so it was empty. I think it was only 3 parties there where our party had the largest of 4 people. It is really cute in here too! The food was ok. The wings really didn't have any seasoning, it was just tossed into the sauce. The chicken and waffles were just ok. Unfortunately, nothing on the menu stood out to the point we'd return again. Not a bad place, but don't see it as a big draw. They're nestled in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. We were seated immediately. I found the staff friendly, with our waiter checking on us frequently, which is good. The setting is casual, but not something for a special occasion in my book. As to the food, it was just food. Prices are reasonable and you get plenty but I don't think there's much flavor. Sort of bland, I think. I got a breakfast burrito with chorizo, which was huge, but just lacked flavor. The atmosphere is very cute. They are dedicated to the bee theme and the decor, shelving, and utensils carry their commitment through. Servers were smart, we uniformed and friendly. I had to complement one gentleman who shaves his head just like my date. I observed him chasing plates down to ensure that they were exactly as diners ordered coming out of the kitchen. He moved like lightning! All food was hot and beautifully prepared. We ordered chicken and waffles served with maple syrup, butter, and hot honey. The food was absolutely delicious. If I had to add any downside, the prices are a little on the high side, but you get what you pay for in this particular case. we paid more but received high quality. Came here for a weekday brunch (yay summer) with a picky eater, and everything eater, and an almost vegan (I describe her this way because once in a while she might eat cheese lol) The appeal of coming here is that there is really something for everyone on the menu. I went with the pot roast hash. It was super yum (after I added hot sauce because of course) and filling. I couldn't finish my potatoes so the portion was generous. The everything eater went with pastrami reuben, the almost vegan went with the smashed plantains, the picky eater went with the breakfast sammy. All reported back positively. Finally tried this establishment, and I will be back! Came for brunch and the food was great, they have so many options for brunch, breakfast, and dinner. The only issue was the wait time to be seated, three employees walked past us and not one asked if we had been helped. I had to ask one to send a hostess over to be seated. After that, everything else was fine. The option to order silver dollar pancakes was perfect for my portion needs. They also have bingo every Thursday at 7PM. If you like all-day diners this is a gem. Has all the wonderful features of a breakfast diner, without the downsides. It's clean, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere relatively calm and inviting. Our food was really well prepared, which says a lot for bacon, eggs, sausage, French toast, etc. There was nothing that seemed like a "greasy spoon" restaurant about this place. On top of the great breakfast menu, they serve tasty lunches and have a full service bar for evenings. The bar had a great selection of craft beers and premium draft beers. I like that it is not over-crowded and is very clean for a "diner." I will absolutely frequent this restaurant and would never think again about going to an IHOP, Denny's, or any other chain. Great local dinner! I've become a regular over the past few years. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the burgers, breakfast burrito, and OG chicken sandwich. If you have a sweet tooth, then the milkshakes, cheesecakes, and cupcakes are amazing. If you're lucky enough to come on a day when they have chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream icing, don't pass it up. The quality of this diner has dramatically declined in recent months. I remember my first experience being spectacular. However, after going back several times, I was disappointed in the quality and overall customer service. The food comes out cold, and the servers are just all over the place. I observed several servers being on duty and not being attentive to the restaurant or diners. I observed trash, and food just sitting on the counters well after folks have left. I experienced someone coming into the restaurant, panhandling. I've also experienced the waiters ignoring me while I was sitting at the bar, waiting for someone to come and check on me so that I could order something else. Again, the quality is just not that good, and I've ordered almost the same items each time so that I could compare the experiences. I originally found this location because I frequent the massage parlor next door, and I just do not recommend this location, and I do not plan to visit in the future unless management does something to address these issues. --Specifically, one server should not be operating the bar, attending to customers in booths, and running plates while there are other employees in the back just lollygagging.
