My colleague decided we should have lunch for her final day at work before maternity leave. We heard it's fairly new and the food was good and we were not disappointed. We were not able to reserve a table online, for whatever reason I don't know. I rung the restaurant and was welcomed by premier inn (I believe they are connected) then pressed for the restaurant and was able to easily book a table for 6. We made a pre-order as we didn't have a long lunch break.
Upon arrival, there was ample car parking and the restaurant is located in a spacious area. There are many tables, and we were seated in the middle of the restaurant at a round table with complimentary beefeater marked balloons. They have decor in line with their beefeater image, which I liked.
The drinks menu offers a good selection including baileys hard-shake. We were served starters which was the chicken and ribs platter. This is usually for 3-4 ppl, but we managed to share between 6 without an issue, being all ladies . The sticky duck wings tasted good and I was not expecting that. The ribs were good, but I would have liked them coated in a little more sauce.
All the food was presented well and our waitress was nice. I had the tasty smothered chicken melt for mains, but was unable to finish the triple cooked chips, which were seasoned well with chilli spice (upon request). The menu offers a lot of choices, so I can't wait to try a different dish and I think the pricing is fair. You definitely get your money's worth for the ribs and wings combo. They offer a day-time menu which is cheaper than the mains menu. read more
