I sat at the outside bar and one thing I noticed is the place is old and not clean. It was a Saturday night and the place was dead and the ones that did come in were ages 60+ which is not normal for a sports bar on college football Saturday night. Not a great sports bar in my opinion.

They are always cooked perfectly and have great flavor. The sampler platter is a solid choice as well. They also offer many happy hour options. They are a newer business and have done great. Our servers are usually Alicia and Tricia and they are very hardworking and do an excellent job at taking orders, delivering the food hot and fresh and keeping our drinks topped off. We are very excited to have another great option in this area. This is mainly a sports bar and grill type and the ambiance is such. If you are going on a big sporting day you can expect a great sports ambiance and a good time. If you want a romantic, quiet dinner then maybe come on a non-sporting event day.

The bar is pushed back in a line of businesses which offers a more parking spaces out front. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There are lots of TVs and even a projection TV for your fav games. The place offers high tops, regular seating and bar seating inside. When we entered late afternoon, it was busy. Mostly older folks enjoying the food and drinks- watching the game. We found two spots at the bar and the bartender was quick to get to us. We each ordered name brand vodka drinks. They were tasty and 2 for 1. Wow! Even better. As we sat, the place got busier and the bartender, Danielle, handled her duties with ease. Drinks didn't sit empty on her watch. She was attentive and friendly. Offering a smile and a suggestion if asked. After a couple drinks we ordered some food. I ordered the chicken rice bowl, and my husband got medium wings with breading. The chicken wings were big and tender, the medium sauce was perfect heat, and very tasty. Awesome!! my husband said. And 80 cents each- wow! Again. My blackened chicken bowl was very good. Moist chicken bites with great flavor. It was hot ( temperature not flavor). Every bite like you just took it off the stove at home. One suggestion would be to add a bit more peppers and onions to the dish. They were lost in the rice and beans. Overall- delicious. I couldn't eat it all but wanted to. I was teasing my husband that since we are new to town, we need to check out lots of others places and he smiled that smile. Looks like we found his favorite bar. Chubbyz is going to be hard to beat. We will be back again and again- I'm sure. Great prices- delicious food, and Danielle serves up some awesome drinks!

Finnegan's Grille & Pub -- Port Charlotte, FL…read more Visit Overview: We stopped by Finnegan's Grill & Pub on Friday around 11 a.m. The restaurant was clean, neatly arranged, and welcoming, with a large bar positioned in the center of the space. Service: Our server and bartender, Kim, was excellent. She provided fast, attentive service and took the time to explain the daily food specials as well as how the drink special works. Food: We started with the lobster bisque, which arrived first and was surprisingly good. For our main meals, we ordered a prime rib sandwich with fries and a BLT with fries. The entrées came out shortly afterward, and everything was served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. * The lobster bisque was rich and tasty. * The prime rib sandwich was especially enjoyable. * The BLT and fries were also hot and very good. Overall Impression: Between the great service, tasty food, and friendly atmosphere, Finnegan's Grill & Pub made us feel like family. It was the kind of experience that makes you want to go back. I must give Finnegan's 4 stars Gulf Coast Terry

Ryan's Sub and Sports Bar Review…read more Visit: On a Saturday afternoon, our group of seven decided to stop by Ryan's Sub and Sports Bar for a casual meal. We were seated in the front patio area, where Nicole, the only waitress on duty, promptly greeted us and took our drink and food orders. Service: Nicole provided attentive and efficient service, despite being the only staff member working on the patio. She managed our group's needs well, ensuring that our drinks and food orders were handled quickly and accurately. Food: We started our meal with appetizers and then moved on to our main courses. The food was excellent, featuring generous portions that were more than enough for everyone. The subs were so large that we split them between two people. The Cowboy Burger was especially impressive, packed full and piled high with toppings. The BBQ Pork was also very good and flavorful. All our food arrived hot and tasted fresh. We enjoyed everything except the Coleslaw, which was just average. Summary: This is a great place to stop by for a quick bite to eat. We sat outside, but the restaurant also offers a very nice indoor seating area. One thing to remember is that people are allowed to smoke on the patio, so if that bothers you, you may prefer to sit inside. Overall, I would give this place 4 out of 5 stars. Gulf Coast Terry

I had to go to the bar to order food and drinks. Well ... I made the mistake of waiting a half hour before going to the bar and instead of being completely dead with no wait the kitchen was slammed by the time they got my order. I didn't get my food until I complained to the manager 2 hours later and the burger was a hockey puck because it had been sitting under the heat lamp for WAY too long plus it had more salt than ketchup on it. The manager tried making excuses until I told him, "If your waitresses would gave done their jobs two hours ago we wouldn't be having this conversation." I have gone back since then, but I stopped buying the VIP tickets and I stopped eating food there. I just enjoy the music and buy a drink or two. They've easily lost $500 from me because the manager didn't say, "I'm sorry" and make sure that I got a hot, fresh meal that was cooked correctly that night. The location is beautiful. The management is second rate at best.
