Let me be clear -- her service dog is exceptionally well-trained and has never caused an issue. He is there to assist her with her disability, which may not be visible to everyone, but is very real. She is a wounded veteran who deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. For Darcy, the owner -- this was not only disappointing but shameful. This bar should remember that much of its support likely comes from veterans and their loved ones. Turning away a veteran because of her service animal is unacceptable

The bar is pushed back in a line of businesses which offers a more parking spaces out front. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There are lots of TVs and even a projection TV for your fav games. The place offers high tops, regular seating and bar seating inside. When we entered late afternoon, it was busy. Mostly older folks enjoying the food and drinks- watching the game. We found two spots at the bar and the bartender was quick to get to us. We each ordered name brand vodka drinks. They were tasty and 2 for 1. Wow! Even better. As we sat, the place got busier and the bartender, Danielle, handled her duties with ease. Drinks didn't sit empty on her watch. She was attentive and friendly. Offering a smile and a suggestion if asked. After a couple drinks we ordered some food. I ordered the chicken rice bowl, and my husband got medium wings with breading. The chicken wings were big and tender, the medium sauce was perfect heat, and very tasty. Awesome!! my husband said. And 80 cents each- wow! Again. My blackened chicken bowl was very good. Moist chicken bites with great flavor. It was hot ( temperature not flavor). Every bite like you just took it off the stove at home. One suggestion would be to add a bit more peppers and onions to the dish. They were lost in the rice and beans. Overall- delicious. I couldn't eat it all but wanted to. I was teasing my husband that since we are new to town, we need to check out lots of others places and he smiled that smile. Looks like we found his favorite bar. Chubbyz is going to be hard to beat. It's always packed. I've been a couple times for drinks, never for food. The food looks amazing though; standard pub fare. They have a short cocktail list and I've discovered that it doesn't change. The bartenders can typically make what you want even if it's fancy. Plenty of seats at the bar, in the bar area, or in their dart hall. They have dart leagues throughout the week. Lately they started this new trivia thing, which is fun. Service is good. Drinks are great. Check it out if you're in the area. Nice people. Always good conversation.

My wife ordered the sm garden salad with grilled chicken, and I ordered the sm fish and chips with Guinness gravy on the side. When the food showed up they tried to give us a burger and the fish and chips. They took the burger back and came right out with the salad. Salad you can't screw up. Fish was over cooked, chips also over cooked, coleslaw was good. I will think long and hard about the fish and chips the next time.

Leroy's Fish Shack which occupied the former Village Fish Market, was still under renovation. We stop by next door, to the Village BrewHouse. This is off season and we were able to get an inside table with gulf view without any waiting time for lunch. As soon as we were seated, the place started to fill up. The hostess was friendly and waitress was great. We opted for the inside seating due to Floridian heat. We ordered Blueberry Waffle, Cod Tacos and Fajita wrap with French Fries and fresh fruit. The food was good. The Blueberries were very sweet; the Fajita wrap was tasty. The Cod was Lightly breaded and fried with power slaw, Pico de Gallo, and remoulade. This is a nice place for lunch or dinner with an excellent water view. It was fun sitting by the water and watching the boats! Service during the week dates are fine! We never been here on the weekend!
