His dad took us to Hideaway Pub to meet his Scooter Bum friends and other locals in the neighborhood. This bar is dim-lit, smokey, has an old-school jukebox, and 4 pool tables. Women are wearing denim and men are rocking bandannas, dirty t-shirts, and construction boots. Everyone is familiar with one another so I caution coming here with a big group that no one knows. The owner/bartender Annie is such a warm individual and makes everyone feel at home. And the drinking is super cheap. One thing to point out is that this is a beer only place - no hard liquor.

5 Stars -- What a Fantastic Find!…read more Grocery Kitchen & Tap Room absolutely exceeded our expectations! As locals, we've visited quite a few restaurants in the area, and this one truly stands out. First, Sandy provided excellent service -- friendly, attentive, and made our entire experience even better. We had the Starliner, and the flavor was outstanding! The gravy was easily some of the best we've had -- rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We also tried the Lighter Selection dinner, featuring their famous Brussels sprouts tossed in hot honey and voodoo sauce, paired with blackened shrimp and green beans. WOW! Completely out of this world. The combination of sweet, spicy, smoky flavors was incredible. And then there's the tap selection! We have honestly never seen anything quite like it. They even had ACE Pineapple, Pear AND Peach -- I would go back just for that! We didn't have room for dessert this time, but that just gives us another reason to return soon. Such a great atmosphere with the perfect combination of a historic vibe and modern grill. Excellent food, fantastic service, and an unbelievable tap selection. We can't wait to go back! Definitely a 5-star experience!

I feel comfortable and welcome here, whether I'm coming off of the beach or I'm dressed up and enjoying a night out. I originally visited the Scallop Republic during the Singer Songwriter festival, Blast On The Bay. The first time I visited the venue I knew that it was a place where I could have fun and be relaxed, while enjoying the local atmosphere and vibe. I am excited about the wonderful transition that has happened. This intimate music venue has fantastic bands. In addition, they have many large screens that you can watch your favourite team play. Last night was the Lilies For The Fillies, Pink party. Although I didn't eat, there was an amazing spread of food. I cannot wait to see what transpires from this point on. In addition to being an intimate music venue, it also has so many other additional spaces. The inside is intimate, but this venue also has large outside areas with fabulous views, as well as the covered underneath section, which offers a reprieve from the sun. They also have lots of popular outdoor games. Tonight was an incredible event, and also a fundraiser for breast cancer. Big shout out for tonight's musicians, Bo Spring Band, amazing! I look forward to all the other future events.

I then ordered some Chili lime wings. The wings are cooked in a wood burning stove so a few of them were a little to burnt. Other than that, they were really good. I got another beer called Velvet Wonder which was a Belgian Triple. It was pretty good. Next time I am road tripping through Georgia, I will definitely stop back to try one of their pizzas and a flight. Cool place with really cool people working here.
