My husband always loves trying new beers and the option to get a variety of options canned to-go is definitely a plus. Their staff is very knowledgeable about flavors and suggestions and friendly even when they're slammed on weekends. Although it's a small space, we've never had issues finding seating either inside or outside on their covered patio and always had a great time.

I have been to History Class brewing on 4 separate occasions, and it has been great every time…read more It hits on all fronts, good beer, great food and cool atmosphere. The Beer: I have tried probably close to a dozen beers. They are always changing them out and they let you have flights of up to 8 beers. Their hazy's have always been solid. The food: Their pretzel may be the best one I have ever had. It's soft, doughy and comes with a tasty beer cheese. I want to eat it again right now. The last time I went I got a simple chicken strips and fries. Except it was not simple it was delicious. The strips were more chicken breasts that were barely seasoned barely breaded and simply delicious. I forgot I had a dipping sauce. The fries were perfect little crisp pillows of heaven. Get them with truffles for a slight upcharge. The atmosphere: Very cool. The outdoor patio in the back is perfect for those spring and fall days. The inside is decorated with various history fun facts and items. The brewery itself is in an old section of town that is being revitalized.

Wow, great place! We are camped across the street and walked over Friday evening for drinks…read more Despite the inside being packed, we found space at the bar and enjoyed chatting with our stool neighbors about local things to do, places to eat, and so on. Very attentive bartender. I looked up their website and found they have daily specials, and on Sunday it's shrimp and grits. My husband HAD to have it. We ventured over this morning right at 11:00 and sat ourselves at a high top near the bar. Our server Morgan came by promptly. Their version of shrimp and grits is unlike any you have had before. Very rich and mildly spicy cream/cheese sauce with shrimp, grits, spinach, mushrooms, and okra. The sauce was made with smoked gouda. Huge portion but he ate it all. I got a grilled grouper sandwich. Absolutely delicious. Morgan was delightful and talked with us about her career plans. She was covering the entire indoor area during our visit so she was really running. We can hear the music from our campsite, but they pull the plug at 9:00 pm so it's not too noisy late. I did not find any other review for the shrimp and grits so I wanted to be sure to post this and a photo.

We found Patches Pub open late on a Thanksgiving night when most other restaurants were closed…read more The place was packed as this is a popular hangout for locals. The waitstaff was friendly as were the regulars around us. The tasty cheese curds were a good starter and since the table next to us recommended the wings, I was all in. The habanero sauce was not really hot, but it was fine enough for a late night meal. Wifey took on the burger and gave a thumbs up for the choice. Throw in salads for sides and overall was a nice surprise for a dive bar. Parking lot outside is a bit small, but we managed to find a spot near the front. Next time we are in town, we will be coming back when looking for another late night snack or just a place to chat with the locals.
