Honestly, the uniqueness of jerky offerings and having dog treats is great. We've been excited to check the place out for years. I feel slightly bad giving such a bad review but if the owner is going to have such horrible people on staff, then it's deserved. The girl working seemed like we were inconveniencing her because she was glued to her phone but she did give us the samples we asked for... reluctantly. Our 8 year old daughter told us in the store that "the girl behind the counter keeps making faces and rolling her eyes at me" so we told her to just ignore it and stop looking at her. We purchased 3 bags of jerky and a dog treat totaling almost $40 which is an amazing deal for jerky. We leave and our 8 year old starts bawling instantly telling us that the girl behind the counter flipped her off when we walked out. WHAT?! My husband went back in with our daughter to confront her and she of course denied it. "I would never do that" with a smart ass smirk on her face. We drove off and the more I thought about it, it enraged me. Even if our daughter was staring at her, what "adult" person flips off a child. Grow up and maybe don't work retail in a TOURIST TOWN FULL OF KIDS. Reading the reviews online, there are multiple accounts of the same behavior happening. I drove back and told her I want a refund for everything because I'm not supporting a business that hires such horrible people. She once again said "I didn't do it". Like my 8 year old is gonna make up a random lie and cry about it. The fuck??! I got the refund with no argument which is very telling. If I were the owner, I'd check back on the cameras instead of listening to their lying ass employee. read more

This place had so many varieties of beef jerky. It was fun to see exotic animals made into jerky. Although overpriced it's expected in this area. We enjoyed sampling some fun flavors. read more

It's a beef jerky shop with lots of samples to try. The samples are right next to the cashier, and the cashier will give you the samples you ask for. There are some 30 samples, but you really need to pick and chose what you want, since you aren't going to try more than about 4 with the girl looking at you like she wants you to leave so she can get back to her phone. With that said, their most popular - the prime rib - was solid good. Original traditional was all right. Mango Habanero was just exactly a mango habanero taste. I didn't have the heart to ask for any more samples, and was pretty happy with the prime rib, so was going to get a pack... but for the size and the price. While good, it wasn't that good. I think if the customer service had been friendlier, and if she had offered better suggestions, I would have walked out with the more exotic tasting jerkys. We arrived in Wisconsin Dells and were excited to see the Beef Jerky Experience store as we had an amazing experience at the Deadwood, SD location a few years ago. My 9 year daughter LOVES beef jerky and couldn't wait to go in. We attempted to visit at around 10 a.m. on Sunday. The sign said open and hours said they opened at 9 a.m. However the door was locked and no one was there. No big deal, we thought, we'd try again the next day. Upon arriving around 12:30 p.m the very next day, my daughter was practically jumping for joy. I went straight for my favorite flavor and grabbed the biggest bag while the rest of my family explored the different options. All during this time to worker didnt acknowledge us. She just sat on her phone. We finally approached and asked if they had any samples. She said no rather rudely without looking up. I pointed out we were just asking because their front door advertised free samples, at which point ​she finally stood up, grunted, and went to the mini fridge right behind her to pull out the samples. At that point however, her bad attitude left a bad taste and we decided to leave. I told her that we had been really excited to come but due to her bad attitude we were going to leave. She then told us she hopes we crash our car and said some pretty rude things in front of our children. All together I cannot recommend this location if this is the type of person who they employ. However we had a great experience in Deadwood, SD so worth trying at other locations. read more

Love this place! Definitely a must stop when in the Dells. Small quaint store with friendly staffers. Love that they offer suggestions and readily offer samples so you can try before you buy. From the name you may think that this store only offers jerky but they offer a variety of other things as well to include spices, popcorn, sauces, etc. The store is located in a small strip mall right off the exit to get to the Dells and across from Kalahari. The prices are very reasonable for the items that are sold here. Again, don't come to the dell's and not stop here! read more

If your a jerky/snack stick person than this is paradise for you. It's definitely a little hard to see because it's a narrow sliver of a store sandwiched between two bigger stores. You can sample some of the items before you buy them to see how you like them and they guide you through the different styles and flavors of the jerky. There is ostrich, alligator, beef, kangaroo, buffalo, Elk and Venison varieties to choose from. There is jerky kits for the do it your self people along with cheeses, hot sauces, Bloody Mary mixers, candy, condiments, crickets etc. This is a little more than just a jerky store and definitely worth checking out. I wanted to try something that I probably will not see in my daily travels so it was down to the kangaroo or ostrich with the ostrich log/stick going home with me. This place is the BOMB! Don't let the name fool you! Now the store is split up so one side has the soft jerky (my fav). The other side hard chewy classic jerky. With so many excellent flavors but the thing was I walked in and got stuck on the hot sauce wall right inside the door. Man they have all the goodies. Insanities, CaJohns, Scorned, Superhot mustards, oleoresin, aquaresin, and pure capsaicin extracts working up to a million scoville. After perusing the wall for so long had to force my way to move on. They have a great selection of pickled products, exotic jerkies, flavored popcorns, brittles, cheese, meat sticks, summer sausages etc etc etc. All I can say is 70 bones later I had to force myself to leave. And that was with restraint and willpower. Oh and don't come here hungry because you can sample everything! read more

If you're into jerky, this is a great place for you. It's a bit pricey, but jerky in general is pricey. About 17 bucks a bag. If you're buying their popcorn it's $5 per half pound. They had cool popcorn flavors like cherry cheesecake, peanut butter fudge, jalapeno cheddar, and more. They also sell cool bags of different flavored peanuts as well as interesting candy. If you spend 100 dollars or more (which you easily could), they offer free shipping and a free tshirt. Good place for gifts, but expect to spend a lot. Lots of free samples of the popcorn and jerky so you know what you're getting into. The older woman who was working when we came in was super friendly, helpful and generous with offering advice and samples. read more

So glad we found this place. My family and I love jerky. That being said, we have had quite a few moments of buyer's remorse. This place eliminates that. You get to try the jerky before you purchase it. They have a wide array of standard jerky meats and flavors. My favorite is the bacon jerky. "Everything is better with bacon." For the more adventurous they do carry some unique jerky meats such as alligator, elk, venison, buffalo, kangaroo, salmon, etc. If you're looking for some snacks for the road, camping, fishing, or something different to take back as a souvenir, stop by and check this place out. I am sooo glad we stopped here after spending 2 hours at the outlet mall with nada. The owner was really super nice and had us sample a few jerky. I liked the cherry and the teriyaki but decided on the the teriyaki. My girlfriend bought a whole collection of all sorts of animals from wild boar, antelope, kangaroo, elk, alligator, and ostrich. This place is genius. Free tasting of any jerky or seasoned popcorn you want. And it isn't one of those things where you have to find someone to ask and feel guilty about snacking. They literally just start opening jerky bins and cutting off chunks for you to sample. The guy there had a great sense of humor and made the experience fun too. The jerky selection is amazing. They have 2 sections- one for dehydrated jerky and then a more moist/smoked option. And the popcorn is the best popcorn I've ever had. I went for the jerky and fell in love with the popcorn. I miss the popcorn already... They have some pretty cute souvenirs, and yummy looking dog treats, scorpion suckers (got one for my best friend) and cute personal little touches too, like their first dollar framed over the cash register. I was sad to leave, but the guy gave me their business card and you can order online to have jerky shipped to you. So I'm hoping that also applies to popcorn..... You get to sample whatever you want. There's a lot of variety. Don't be afraid to try something different. I didn't think I'd be big on the vodka bloody mary jerky, but thought it had a very interesting taste. I ended up buying some. They also have some spicy stuff in there if you like heat. read more

When I was browsing the store this past weekend on a trip I came across all these exciting peanut butters they offered. I decided on the razzle dazzle one after sampling a few. I thought it was worth the $8 I spent on it. That Night after my hour and a half drive home I opened the jar and noticed in wasn't mixing well. I knew all natural peanut butters separated, but this was excessive. When I looked at the cap for a date I saw that it expired JANUARY 9th 2016! I purchased it on August 1st 2016. I called the store they next morning they told me to come in and get a refund or a new jar. When I told them I lived almost 2 hours away they took my name and never called me back. This is unacceptable and should never happen. I am happy a family didn't buy it and give it to children. Always look at the dates when purchasing things since the dells is a tourist town and no one wants to pay more in gas to get a refund that won't pay for their gas! read more
