Very close to Alum Creek Drive and the highway, but quiet and peaceful. A shelter, playground, portapotty, etc. Plenty of parking. Everything clean and pretty new. Looks like it connects to trails, and there is a nice trail on the grounds. Not busy on a Sunday afternoon. There's a little climbing wall in the playground, swings, slides, etc.

The park is very open and plain, with huge fields for soccer and foot ball. There is a 3/4 track that runs around the park. There is also a swing set and small play ground for children. Now that I am older I can appreciate the open space. I consider this for safety reasons as these days I am concerned with people hiding and attacking others. Also because its open think that discourages illegal activity, as everyone can pretty much see what you are doing. I come here and walk the track and bring my son to play. Sometimes I bring my dog along as well. There aren't a huge number of dogs here which is good and most of the ones who do come are small breeds so I am not too concerned with my pup's safety.

At least it seems to; my GPS was useless finding entrances to those, and on the map they are adjacent. There has to be some access. We were there for the playground, of course. And it is small, but nice enough. And: in the shade, important on these 95 degree days. Baby K loved it. Small playset, swings, a few other things to play on. And: dirty. The playset was filthy. There was trash all over the ground. Not windblown, just tossed around. Sad.

I think this is a pretty cool park. They built it just a few years ago so it's pretty new, or at…read moreleast parts of it are new. There's history about an old train station that used to be there. There's a bunch of picnic tables under an awning and also some picnic tables out in the sunshine. There's a park with a climbing wall type structure that looks pretty cool. I'm almost 30 so there's no way I've gotten the courage to climb it yet. Maybe one day. Lol There's a few different jungle gym pieces and quite a few swings. Also a handicap swing which is so neat and inclusive. There's a little water park for the kids in the summertime and large swing benches along the water park which are fun to sit on in any weather. It's very relaxing there and we sometimes take books or snacks and sit in the grassy patch to enjoy watching life go by on nice sunny days. There's a Dairy Queen right down the road from here so sometimes we walk there first and bring treats back to enjoy in the park. Our pup likes the kids size peanut butter sundae best. There really is a lot jampacked in a small area here but this is a pretty neat park to have close to home. If I had kids I could definitely see myself spending a day here. Kids seem to love the water park that shoots water out of the ground. I mean, how could they not love that?! Lol I love it and I'm an adult! There is plenty of parking on the street in the neighborhood and also right behind the library. There's so much parking behind the library.

Parking for the park is either on the street, or you can try to find a spot in a parking lot which is accessible from Walnut Street. While the park is small, it crams quite a bit into a very small footprint. The park contains a pretty awesome playground. Some of the play sets are pretty futuristic and have some really awesome designs. This was nothing like I had growing up. We had that crazy, squeaky merry go round that you would spin as fast as possible to see who flew off first, or threw up, and the half dome jungle gym which for some reason was always placed over a concrete slab. This park has a fort, some awesome swings, and a great fountain feature you turn on with the palm of your hand. In addition to the play ground, this park has an ingeniously designed shelter, throwing back to a train depot, and the bricks are laid out to look like a pair of railroad tracks. There are also water fountains and a bathrooms on the read of this shelter, along with several plaques giving you historical tidbits. This small park is also a launch point for portions of the Erie to Ohio trail which pass through Westerville, namely Towers trail, which has several branches, including one that leads to the nearby Hoover Reservoir. Most notably, and the namesake, are a grove of oak trees, 8 of which have a plaque in honor of each of the United States Presidents which came from Ohio. An additional oak tree has a plaque which states "Who will be next?"

There is a sign that says the playground is open during daylight. Park at the northeast corner of the school and walk around back. A big playset with tunnels, slides, games, etc. Another playset focused on climbing. Three little "clubhouses" for kids to sit in. Teeter totters (very low to the ground,) climbing ropes, basketball courts nearby, a few benches, a shaded dining area, and more. And, another school next door with another cool-looking playground. Baby K loved it. We will be back.

There is an area for kids (as you can see, the giant mushroom fountain), so the deeper water is not over crowed with annoying screams and kids as kids play tag in the pool. Two low diving boards, and 2 small-but-fast slides keep the kids occupied. There is a good amount of grass surrounding the pool, but you have to supply your own chairs/blanket. In these last hot - very hot - days, the cold water is all I really want, and care, about. It costs $6/day for an adult. This neighborhood pool is great for the hot, lazy days of summer!

In fact, there have been plenty of times we've gone when there were only a handful of other people there. They've done lots of updates and have a nice shaded area for those who prefer it. The pool has a graduated edge at the shallow end which is super nice for the kids. It also has the mushroom shaped fountain that my kids love although it was off for maintenance the last time we went. There are two small slides and they are perfect for both the littler kids and the big ones. They go fast but they're very short and parents can catch the little ones at the bottom. The pool isn't heated so it can be super cold if it's not a hot day but we like it. There are two diving boards and lifeguards throughout all areas of the pool. The price is great at around $6-7 per person with kids 3 and under being free. They allow floats/rafts as long as they're not outrageously sized which makes it fun as most pools do not allow this. I don't believe they have a concession stand...maybe they do and it was closed or maybe I've been too focused elsewhere. Who knows. I've never noticed one so do with that what you will. The bathrooms are clean and have showers/changing space. Parking is ample and shaded in most areas. The only downside to this pool is that they have had zero lounge chairs or seating of any type. We usually just bring a beach blanket and call it a day. Works for us! I was told they would have chairs this year so maybe by now they do. Worth checking out either way. Highly recommend a visit if you're looking to swim with little ones or big kids and don't want a ridiculously crowded pool. Schaffner's is right down the street and makes for a great after-swimming treat! They have thee BEST ice cream and have a drive thru, indoor seating and a nice, newly built patio for outdoor dining. They have a lot more than ice cream and it's all really good. Enjoy!

Our school aged daughter needs daycare for days when schools are closed and parents have to work…read more Since one of our employers provides stipends for listed providers, we tried this one at their recommendation. This place was fabulous! The director greeted us (most importantly, my daughter) with a friendly smile and open arms. She brought us to her age-appropriate classroom (she is 7--the class appeared to be for all school-aged children) and called upon an assigned "big sister" to show her around. The kids were all interacting happily and peacefully--it was clear that a strong community had been established. Most tellingly, my daughter was happy and asked to return to this location on her next day off. She spoke highly of the food--nutritious lunch and dinner. She loved that they had dance parties, free play, and activity times. The director spoke positively of her and said they would love to have her any time. (And I must note--my daughter is not always a model citizen!) We request Brightside at 3525 Cleveland Ave anytime we need a place for her.
