    Baseball field

I've heard of this park but had never been until yesterday evening. It's a lot bigger than I thought! There's a rec center, tennis courts, a playground, a basketball court, and a baseball field. There's a lot of areas to walk around. It seems like a sizable park. It's a good alternative for students with live around here, although I saw a lot of families while I was hanging around. It was kinda busy for a Thursday evening around 6:30. Lots of people walking and playing sports. The parking lot isn't huge but we found a spot easily. I'm sure many people walk here since I'm sure most who come to this park live nearby. I'm sure I'll be back!

Tuttle Park Recreation Center is one of the best in Columbus. It's close to Ohio State so it's easily forgotten about. This is s good alternative to the crowds at the school facilities. It's got lots of modern equipment and it's got a pool. The area isn't as nice as campus, which is the bad thing. It's located across the Olentangy River from the north campus. It's connected to the Olentangy Trail which makes it convenient for cyclists. The recreation center is fairly modern. It has lots of good workout areas. The pool there is a good size. It also has areas for baseball and basketball. There's a pavilion which is a good spot for firing up a grill. It's not as nice an area so it gets ignored by students. The facilities aren't as good as campus but it's a nice change. I would check out Tuttle Park. It's not as good as any of the campus facilities. The good thing about that is it's not as crowded there.

Tuttle park is probably the best recreation space in the university district outside of the university itself. Its northern bound is at Achermen Road where it is a wooded area in a ravine. There is a multi-use trail tied to the Olentangy Greenway that goes by a stairs climbing to Hudson and through a very wild and dark thicket; various animals make their home in its semi-swamp environs; deer, rodents, all manner of birds, and even snakes wander its thick brush. Sadly, homeless camps can be seen in the distance, their tarps glistering near the Old North Columbus edge. To the south in the shadows of the former multi-story hotels is a wide expanse of grass meant for frisbees, soccer matches, and whatever games needing an expanse. Two large softball fields are there too. Above on a hill is a Romanesque rest cul-de-sac with benches overlooking the fields. A rink for dry land hockey's is to the western edge; well maintained and shaded, it is the only one of it's kind I've seen in Columbus Parks inventory. A slight disappointment is the lack of bicycle racks; kind of strange with it near campus and the trail going through it and everything. They need to add that like pronto.

Welp, I am a runner... and live on OSU campus, this is never a good mix. The places to run outside are either crowded with streets and people, or somewhat sketchy. Yet, this nice convenient loop stands out. It connects to the Olentangy Trail and always seems to have some sort of activity going on whether it is people swinging on the swings, playing hockey, basketball, kickball, or baseball. The trail is paved and kept up nicely. There are parts that are shaded, or out in the sun once you get towards the center of the park. Plenty of mild hills for joggers and bikers. Tuttle Park, I approve you as a great exercise place for campus running hood-rats :)

I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating.

The senior center has always been friendly and a great place to relax and talk with others. I had participated in their senior citizen's board and found that they responded quickly to any suggestions.
