Nature area - leads to a short path

Love this park! It's great for kids of all ages. I particularly like the section for toddlers. It's bigger than most playgrounds and perfect for kids 2 & under. In addition to the playground, there are tennis courts, bocce ball, soccer fields and a ball diamond. There is also a small nature area and short trail. One of the things that gives this park 5 stars is the fact that it is often shaded!! There are also restrooms and picnic tables.

Shuffleboard. I kinda of want to learn it. You'd think hispters ould be all over this is be...snicker...ironic.

A miniature Thompson park tucked between affluent sub-divisions in central UA, Fancyburg It is geared towards the young, the old, and neighborhood aerobaholics. For the young there is a sizable playground. Made of "Fisher Price" plastic and bright colors is a complex of slides, ledges, connectors and the like to exhaust even the most sugared up, caffeinated kiddo in town. For those a bit older are baseball diamond that look designed for little league and younger. In great shape, they don't seem configured for older leagues like the ones in Thompson. For the old there are tennis courts. For older there is a line of shuffleboard courts where the rowdy jocks of the sports certainly whoop it up. This is a novelty I haven't notice north of Orlando. For my fellow aerobaholic there are running trails of asphalt that circle the park with several forks allowing diverse routes. As with other sport parks, there are resting benches and pull-up bars stationed through out. The park is not that much of a looker. The thin border of wetlands encircling it fresh with brush and down trees bring some nature to the park, but this stands in contrast to the expensive houses in the background making an awkward juxtaposition. The grounds have too much open space which is not always bad thing though it does produce a baren emptiness running by. The trees are too young--I say about 20-25 years old--to produce much shade. So I say it is good for neighborhood pastimes more than it is for a destinated getaway.

There is a double gated pass through at each of the two areas. Poop bags and trash cans are available on site. There are two large fenced in areas, one for dogs 25 pounds or less (Oatie's area) and the other for dogs 25 pounds or more. Both have shaded areas and sunny areas with benches and play equipment. Since both areas are fenced in, dogs can run freely. Oatie loves chasing other dogs and being chased over grassy hilly areas. GODOWN dog park is a 5 minute drive from my daughter's townhouse complex so when visiting I take Oatie to the park often. This park is very popular so I have never visited the park with at least one other dog being present. Other dog owners here seem to be caring and dog lovers, as well.

Each side of the two parks have a double gated pass through, poop bag dispensers, and trash cans. Both sides have benches and plenty of trees to provide shade. Folks here are generally friendly. It's a pretty popular dog park. We've never been here when there weren't dogs for our dog to play with. (Unlike some of the other parks we've visited in the Columbus area.) There's a spigot near the entrances beside the portajohn. Great for a quick rinse off of a muddy dog or for filling up the communal water jugs that you find on both sides of the dog parks.

Stepping into Bumble's Backyard feels like joining a club you didn't even know you (or your dog!)…read moreneeded. Lauryn and Evan pour their hearts into this place, and it shows in all the little things. The Barktenders in bright vests greet you and your dog by name, and you can hear them on the radios calling out each pup's arrival and departure, with a secure double gate (both of which have been reinforced, with an added audio signal when the gate is opened) adding peace of mind at the entrance. They don't just stand on the sidelines; they're in the park interacting with the dogs, keeping them engaged and helping redirect energy when play gets a bit too hyped. If a dog needs a break, they're moved to a smaller enclosed area to reset and calm down with a Barktender sitting right next to them. The park itself is spotless and thoughtfully set up: faux grass so no one goes home muddy, play areas free from poop thanks to constant cleanup and respectful members, fresh water always available, a long leash wall right when you walk in, and seating placed so you have clear sight lines to your dog from every angle. There are trash and compost bins exactly where you expect them, plus a semi-enclosed heated area so humans can warm up while the dogs keep running. Every visit wraps up with a complimentary pup cup, and yes--your dog will quickly figure out that this is part of the Bumble's ritual. On top of the basics, Bumble's goes all in on community: dog birthday parties, person-and-pup yoga, book clubs, "Fetch Night," and OSU Buckeye "tailgate" events make it easy to stick around and actually enjoy being there. What really sold me was our first visit. Before we entered the main park, a Barktender invited us into a smaller area for temperament testing and spent about 10 minutes walking me through how everything works--where the bags, trash cans, and hoses are, and how the community rules keep the park friendly, safe, and incredibly clean. It genuinely feels like a responsible, caring community built for dog lovers who expect more. We keep coming back because Lauryn, Evan, and the whole Bumble's team make us feel like we're part of something special (more than anyone I've ever met - they truly care about dogs) --and that "something" is really, really good.
