Diamond playing with a puppy
Octavia M.

TOO MANY SNOOTY PPL HERE FOR ME!! I have a cane Corso who is aggressive but we're working on distractions and recall! I have her muzzle on her at all times because I don't know how she will do! People here see the muzzle and don't want their dog around mines or they say mean stuff. Now I've had to check a few people. My dog is very well trained and after they see how well she is trained they back off but still don't want their dog around mines! It's cool tho. I just moved into the area and thought this would be a really great place for my dog to get used to other dogs and to work on distractions and her recall but people are going to be people. Diamond loved playing with the other dogs. (Who's parent let their dog around mines) but I probably will just go back to my old neighborhood and take her there where their not so snooty!!! This place is massive and the big dog park is big enough for them to just TAKE OFF and we loved it!! The dogs are so lovely just not so much the people!!

Two very ignorant dog owners with a pitbull in the small dog area, unfriendly and preventing others from feeling safe.

Part of my new self-care routine is exploring nearby parks with my furbaby, 15lbs Daschund/Terrier mix. This morning was our 3rd time visiting Godown park and it was a horrible experience the moment we stepped out of the car. These two very ignorant dog owners sitting on the bench in the small dog area, with one small dog and a three-legged pitbull - again, in the SMALL dog area. As I approached to at least find out if the dogs were approachable and friendly, these ignorant folks behaved with another level of caucasity and privilege. I agree with Ms. Octavia M. who posted previously that the park itself is very nice but the people/dog owners can make it very unpleasant for others. My furbaby and I didn't stay and instead drove to the park up the street. There would have been no reasonable world where as a Black woman, if I would have match that same mean spirited energy towards them that I would have been well within my rights, so it was best that I traveled the high road and leave. It's too bad that people are still this ugly and mean for no apparent reason. My advice to newcomers, if you visit Godown, be careful of these two ignorant people, with the three-legged pitbull in the small dog area, bullying and preventing others from enjoying a public facility.

The weather was beautiful today so we visited this dog park. I have a 5 year old shihtzu and she had a great time! Since it was a beautiful day, it was full of furry friends! I loved that they have a small/large dog area that is separated by a fence. Everyone was so nice and followed the rules.

Since getting a dog who loves to play frisbee and can socialize with other dogs, I've been here several times. I didn't notice the no toys or treats rule the first few times. My dog is the one that will go after other dogs who dare to look at her frisbee so I totally understand the rule. She's large so I've only been in the large dog area. It has two entrances. We haven't explored every corner but it's certainly a good size for large dogs. There's wooded areas, flat grassy areas, and hilly grassy areas. There's an agility tunnel for the dogs, and park benches for the owners. Water dishes have been placed around the various congregation spots. Owners, in general, are pretty friendly and interested in talking to you about your dog. Due to Covid, the water fountains have been turned off. Bring your own water and hand sanitizer.

Large open area and relatively clean. Had one very bad instance where a man let his Husky try to maul my 1 year old Female GSP. Claimed I should leave the park and let his Husky run wild.

A very happy collie! (And the corgi following :) )

We've been going to Godown for years and we always have been happy with it! When we just had the collie, we would go to the large dog side. But since getting the corgi, we like to go on the small dog side. The collie prefers little dogs anyway, so it works out! The small dog side is a little bit smaller than a large dog side, but it's never been an issue for the dogs. Plus it's easier to keep track of your dogs on the small side. We always meet such kind folks and cute doggies here too. Highly recommend!

I was in search of a good dog park for my puppy Bella and many Yelper's suggested this place to me. So yesterday I decided to come out and give it a try and my puppy loved it. Even though her face may have not shown it. She had a good time chasing the others small dogs around. What I like about this dog park is it's sectioned into two areas for the small dogs and then the bigger dogs in the next area. Therefore, the big dogs can't hurt these small dogs under 25 pounds. My dog tends to be scared of bigger dogs so interacting with a dog about her size is perfect. Plus I really like socializing my pet with others because I do feel bad when she's stuck at home all day with no one else to play with. She needs that time to just be free and run around. That's what Godown Dog Park provides is an ample area for her to get muddy and have some good ole fun with other pets. If you are in the northwest area and want a fun park to take your dog to consider Godown Dog Park. Your pet will love it and so will you.

Godown Dog Park is one of the better dog parks in northwest Columbus. It's got areas for big and small dogs. There's lots of room in both. It's often kept very clean. There's also facilities like a water fountain. I like that the fence is good at separating the dogs. In a lot of dog parks it's easy for dogs to get over or through it. This allows for less worries that smaller dogs will be hurt by bigger dogs. Another thing good about this one is they provide complimentary poop bags. There's also a water fountain to fill up bowls and wash hands. It could use some more trash cans. They also sometimes have the water all shut off. If you want to visit a bigger dog park then Godown Dog Park is for you. It has some good facilities and there's lots of running around room. There are many dog parks in Columbus but this is among the better ones.

So while pet sitting a neighbor asked us to go I would have never taken this guy to godown otherwise He played hard and slept well for his vacation to Vargoville.

Shortly after getting my dog six years ago, I knew I wanted to check out the dog parks in Columbus. First hand. I wanted to go the the best one and make that our go-to park. I went to seven or eight before coming to Godown. Man, there really is no comparison. Some little hills, beautiful area. Great amount of space. Definitely the best one in Columbus, in my opinion. I was a little let down with the other offerings. Some of the "parks" were just a fenced in rectangle on flat surface. Basically just a potty area for your dog. Very lackluster. Not Godown.

Big space with lots of trees so dogs can get away from one another if needed. There are two areas for large and small sized dogs!

One of our dogs does great with other people but not so hot with other dogs. Because of this she never gets to go to a dog park. This was her first time being able to run free in a larger than yard size area and she loved it! It has a nice shelter house to keep you out of the sun. The pond edges are shallow enough the dogs can wade in and you can stand in the water as well. You bring your own poop bags and chairs and toys but there were lots of balls scattered around. I highly recommend!!

I have two girls and one is dog reactive and the other has a noisy play style so traditional dog parks aren't an option for us. Mutt's is a private dog park that you pay for by the hour to have the entire place to yourself. I couldn't believe it when I heard it! It is $10/hr per dog and you have the entire place to yourself. There's a pond, a paddle boat, a little shelter area for shade, an agility course, a human bathroom (porta pot), and all the space needed to run your dog ragged. The park owner is quick to respond when booking and always has poop bags, water, and toys for the pups. We always take our own, but it's nice to know he has some as well. You can book longer than an hour at a time, but our girls go hard quick so an hour is sufficient. The only down side is that we live in downtown Columbus and it's on the north side of Delaware so it's about 45 mins one way. But it really is worth it!

When I moved to Delaware I thought it was a perfect community except for one thing, it lacked a dog park. Then I discovered a dog park was in the works and I was overjoyed. This 5-acre park has segregated areas for large and small dogs and has several nice amenities. 1) GRASS! Now I know this park is new but the grass is holding up perfectly. If you are an avid dog park visitor you know having grass is a huge plus. They have some things in place such as large cement double gate entry that will hopefully keep the grass in tact. 2) On site water. No need to take water to this park. They have a lovely human/dog water fountain combo that is located in a stone area that will not get muddy. 3) This park is deceptively large. It is flat and slightly uninteresting but their are a number of young trees that will provide great shade one day. 4) Great walking trail just off the parking lot around a wildlife area including ponds. My dog insists we walk around the trail after visiting the park. 5) People must not know about this park because it never seems busy. I have many times been the only person there. To me this is a positive because my dog is more interested in chasing birds then other dogs and I think it is helping to keep the grass wonderful. Have I mentioned having grass at a dog park is a huge plus? 6) Park also has doggy waste bags and trash cans throughout the park for your convenience. There are also a few nice benches. Please clean up after your dog so all can continue to enjoy this park. If you are in the area come and visit. I do not think you will be disappointed.

Lauryn and Evan pour their hearts into this place, and it shows in all the little things. The Barktenders in bright vests greet you and your dog by name, and you can hear them on the radios calling out each pup's arrival and departure, with a secure double gate (both of which have been reinforced, with an added audio signal when the gate is opened) adding peace of mind at the entrance. They don't just stand on the sidelines; they're in the park interacting with the dogs, keeping them engaged and helping redirect energy when play gets a bit too hyped. If a dog needs a break, they're moved to a smaller enclosed area to reset and calm down with a Barktender sitting right next to them. The park itself is spotless and thoughtfully set up: faux grass so no one goes home muddy, play areas free from poop thanks to constant cleanup and respectful members, fresh water always available, a long leash wall right when you walk in, and seating placed so you have clear sight lines to your dog from every angle. There are trash and compost bins exactly where you expect them, plus a semi-enclosed heated area so humans can warm up while the dogs keep running. Every visit wraps up with a complimentary pup cup, and yes--your dog will quickly figure out that this is part of the Bumble's ritual. On top of the basics, Bumble's goes all in on community: dog birthday parties, person-and-pup yoga, book clubs, "Fetch Night," and OSU Buckeye "tailgate" events make it easy to stick around and actually enjoy being there. What really sold me was our first visit. Before we entered the main park, a Barktender invited us into a smaller area for temperament testing and spent about 10 minutes walking me through how everything works--where the bags, trash cans, and hoses are, and how the community rules keep the park friendly, safe, and incredibly clean. It genuinely feels like a responsible, caring community built for dog lovers who expect more. We keep coming back because Lauryn, Evan, and the whole Bumble's team make us feel like we're part of something special (more than anyone I've ever met - they truly care about dogs) --and that "something" is really, really good.
