They pointed out that "zero entry only" means that both the slide and lazy river are closed. Really? That's what that means? As if it should be obvious? We were also told that we could return from 5-7 but we were already there at 11 and had planned our day around that. This being vacation, we had plans later on which didn't include going to the pool twice in one day. So we made the best of it and stayed but again, it was super disappointing. What they need to do is change their stupid sign because it is NOT obvious what "zero entry only" means. I would guess that only the rec center employees have a clue what that means.

The Dublin rec center gives you a free in-body test when you buy fitness passes which is a very…read morenice little perk but it's almost impossible to schedule it. I tried calling both the people (T & H, for short) who administer the test to schedule it and neither one called me back. I also texted one of them (H) and never heard back. So I called the rec center and they gave me the email for H. I emailed him and he replied and we scheduled it. Then, two hours before the time we had scheduled, he emailed me and said he would be teaching a class at that time and could I do it myself? I had never paid attention to the set-up of the procedure so I said no. So he said he would get someone to cover for him and he'd be there at our scheduled time. I got there early and waited about 15 minutes before I went to the front desk to tell them I needed help with the scheduled test. The person followed me back to the in-body room and pointed to a man and said "That's H". So he was out in the hallway having a conversation and I was waiting (at that point nearly 20 minutes) for him. He came in and gave me the test. Some version of this happens every 3 months when I buy new passes and have to run the gauntlet to get my free test and it is extremely frustrating.

I thought maybe it was at a school, but nope, at the rec center. Plenty of parking out back, of course. And a nice big playground. Baby K loved it. I took the Fearless Falling class, held between 3:00 to 4:00 on Wednesdays and I learned so much. The senior lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays is only $4; you may choose to dine in or takeaway. Near the dining hall sits a huge cabinet filled with puzzles ranging from 300 to 1,000 pieces. Their generous policy is that you may bring puzzles or take as many puzzles as you like. The pool tables are always in use by smiling gentlemen and ladies. There is a quilt drop-in a couple of days a week. I'm impressed with how upbeat and cheery everyone is and I'm glad the city has created such a welcoming space for its seniors.

They also have a small OrthopedicOne Branch of medical workers that will assist if a player gets injured. Conclusion: This is a great place to play indoor soccer. I signed up for a free agent league this past season and I loved it. However, I haven't played since college, so my body did not love it and I completely tore my Achilles. And they still rock HARD?! USC Lyon Center, please take notes. My one gym back in California can't even compare to JOS, our local, smaller gym that is big enough to get everything you need down. There are plenty of cardio machines, weights and even a newly finished basketball court in the back. All sporting equipment can easily be rented from the front desk. The hours here are also not too shabby, as I can just wake up early at 7 to go do my thing (not that I have yet, but soon enough!) I love this place, and although it's smaller than the RPAC, it still holds up very well on its own. Plus it's air conditioned! I don't think the one on north side can really compare. Work hard!
