I stopped by here for the first time today to explore the 9.2 acre topiary park, and it was so cute even in the winter! Parking: parallel parking around the park - you do have to pay to park Trees: impressive! I did think these would be scattered all over the park & fun to find, but they're all centrally located and based off of a painting from Paris. It was fun to walk around & guess what each of the trees were shaped into. The pond was beautiful with the snow and ice! This isn't a place I would drive super far and out of my way to enjoy, but it's nice for a short stroll.

Small but worth it park! This park was super cute with a gorgeous little pond and topiary art all around it. It is a small area but it is a perfect quick stop to make or a nice place to sit and relax. It has well made paths and very nice grass to walk through. It is very well kept. We happened to come by when a book festival was being set up. There are lots of nice shaded areas and benches to sit and relax in.

This was a cute little park to stroll around. The greenery there was amazing. They made trees and scrubs look exactly like Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte". There's a display with the painting there, so it was cool to compare it to the real thing. Parking can be a hit or miss around the area.

Definitely one of a kind and I am very impressed with the skill it takes to create and maintain such a park. There a bronze metal plaque that explains the history of this park and states it was meant to replicate a painting. After I looked at the painting I realized this park does look like a real life version of it. The upkeep at the time was good. There was no overflowing trash. The only thing is I'm not sure I went at the wrong time of day, it was around 3:30 on a weekday but it was really noisy. You had high school kids screaming and laughing since they just got out of school and homeless people that would follow and badger you for money. I get Columbus is a city and we have all types of people, but based on this experience I wouldn't come here to have a relaxed meditation experience. If someone likes art, being outside and seeing something unique I highly recommend this park!

A was a perfect day to see the topiary garden in Columbus. If you are a fan of the painting "A Sunday Afternoon at La Grande Jatte"then you should appreciate this park. The park itself is free, however, it's pay parking on Towne Street but the side streets offer free parking and a side entrance to the park. It's a short drive from the German Village and also not far from the Franklin Park Conservatory if you have time.

Unpopular opinion time. I was so disappointed by this park. It is supposed to be an urban gem, but I thought it reflected really poorly on Columbus Rec and Parks. The trash cans were overflowing with trash, the grass looked like it had not been cut in weeks and the whole park just looked neglected. There were belligerent drunk people hanging out on park benches and I could not imagine walking through here at night. I would be embarrassed to bring visitors from out of town to see this.

Sad to say it looked a bit ragged the day I was there. It's a recreation of Georges Seurat's famous pointillist painting. I'm hoping to visit again on a nice day in the spring or summer.

One of my favorite parks! It is a really nice topiary garden, pond, and park. The park is located on East Town Street in the downtown Columbus area at 480 E. Town St, close to the Columbus Public Library, and Grant Hospital. This is the historic site of the old deaf school & park that is now a tranquil public garden. It is great for dog and people walks, picnics, and a great place just to relax. Some of the topiary displays have seen some better days but it is a great park.

I love the craftsmanship here but besides that, the park desperately needs some tlc. Also, I saw a few homeless people hanging around so this place is only good for going during the daytime. At night, it might be kind of sketchy.

Have a few minutes before headed to Columbus airport and decided to stop by zone parking for an hour was 85c!! Beautiful scenery the only disappointment was that the gift shop was closed. A must see

What a beautiful park! We enjoyed our walk through this park. A great place for photo ops, outdoor games, a stroll or a relaxing picnic. The landscaping detail and maintenance here is phenomenal! Researched and apparently this park is a recreation of a painting a scene made by artist Georges Seurat. Really cool.

Great place to go. Read a book. Meditate quiet time. Enjoy scenery. Take plenty pictures and look at art

Unique; don't miss! Worth a trip from afar, for art lovers On a weekday in October, I found free parking on a side street right around the corner from the park entrance. I think the park opens at 11AM; luckily, I didn't come too early Pretty flowers and several benches, too

I walk…read morethis area often and have walked by this park too many times to count, however I just learned this past weekend that it's technically it's own and not part of the others. Confusing, I know. The best way to pinpoint this specific park is to look for the cute, whimsical statues in the lawn. They go along with the story shared on the plaque just behind them. The author's note reads, "It is wise to remember the ancient people before us who greeted new things to this continent. How did they teach children to prepare for great change, holding to virtue as they discovered the voyagers? The hero of this fantasy, Pickaweekee, is named for a village of "The People Who Arose From Ashes," whose ancestors vanished from the Scioto Valley centuries past." In layman's terms, the story is about Pickaweekee, a Native American boy from a Scioto Valley tribe who embarks on a mythical journey of discovery. Alongside each animal statue is a smaller plaque that explains its purpose and how it fits into the story. It's super cute and I love that art is incorporated. There's several creatures and I believe they were all made by sculptor Jack Greaves. If you're looking for a fun spot to take the kids, definitely stop by here during your walk. It only adds to the beauty and culture that is Columbus.

The memorials include one for the Columbus Firefighters, featuring an eternal flame at the top of the piece, the Spanish American War Memorial, and the Workers Memorial, which is dedicated to the Franklin County Workers who have passed while on the job. One of the memorials, which is dedicated those lost on the Space Shuttle Challenger, was designed by local children and is called Their Spirits Circle the Earth. The art features a wonderful swooping sculpture Freedom by local sculptor Alfred Tibor and a sculpture of a man, woman, and baby called To Honor the Immigrants by local sculptor Gary Ross. There are also a number of bronze animals populating the grassy tree area to catch the eye - these six sculptures, along with a large plaque containing the story the illustrations are pulled from - are in the James W. Barney Pickaweekee Story Grove here in Battelle Riverfront Park. There are also donor plaques lining the sidewalk near the memorials and art. This is a very peaceful and relaxing spot. There is nearby street parking using the meters, or it's easily accessible as part of the trails running along the Scioto.

That said, we hired the bartenders from Ohio Bartenders and purchased our own alcohol and beverages. Much cheaper option and worked perfectly. The outside space is large and perfect for any occasion. Also, the pictures you can take are just amazing. You also have access to the kitchen space which has a large standing cooler and industrial ice machine. Everything you need in one place, it's perfect. Parking is a bit scarce but when you reserve you get 26 spots located right in front on the street. There is a fountain near the shelter, though it wasn't currently running at the time of our most recent visit - it's probably a bit early in the season. Street parking is available nearby (if you can get it - it was full up when we came by), or there are garages in the area. You can also access via the trails by foot, scooter, bike, and the like. I've been to Franklin Park before for the African Festival, but little did I know there was a gorgeous man-made lake and walking area tucked behind the amphitheatre. Honestly, Columbus needs more events out here--imagine summer concerts lakeside. Come on, Cbus, don't sleep on this! Thanks to a Yelp contest win, I got two tickets to the Water Lantern Festival and was excited to experience it for the first time. I brought the beau, packed a sweater (because yes, sweater-and-jacket weather arrived), and we found a spot to settle in. The experience started with decorating our lanterns--super thoughtful packages that came with a deck of cards and conversation prompts to keep the evening flowing. The event itself was well organized: shuttles helped us avoid the parking madness, there were plenty of food trucks (though I ate beforehand), and the staff kept things moving. The only hiccup was the AV system--it was a little hard to hear, and the lantern launch was delayed due to the chill. But when those lanterns finally floated onto the water, the view was worth it. Beautiful, reflective, and something I can now check off my list as an artistic and soulful evening. YE Gurl checked the box and lit the night!
