The Chihuly exhibit is perfect and such an amazing fit that it seems like every conservatory should have a blown glass exhibit. The inside of the building has a lot under construction, but even still was really amazing. The outside gardens are beautiful and really wonderful for kids. They have a great children's garden section, as well as a fantastic model train section. On top of all of that, they also have a glad blowing workshop outside in the summer and you can watch an artist at work blowing glass. I found that fascinating, and definitely bought a piece from the gift shop after watching it! The pieces on the shelf outside in the workshop are really beautiful. Oh, and on top of everything else they have a great cafe with actually good food! I wish this was in my city, because I could come here all the time!

My time here today was great. I had a ton of fun here. I was pretty excited to see their train garden. Where they have many different models of trains going through a garden. There are so many different things to see and do. They have many hands on experiences for children as well. You need to get here and bring those kids to have fun.

So if you come to visit Columbus, I'd suggest stopping by. What also stands out as a major highlight is the Arch Monument. According to columbus.gov/recreationandparks..."McFerson Commons (Park) is also known to many as "Arch Park" because the focal point of the park is the entry arch from the Old Union Train Station". When I first saw this statuesque arch, I had a quick flashback to standing in front of the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Who would have thought I could be transported to one of the most famous cities in the world?! Lol Exploring around McFerson Commons, although you're in the center of the city streets of Columbus, behind the arch is a long pathway of comforting looking grass. It's nice for sitting down, relaxing and sort of taking a break if you're a tourist from out of town. There are benches to sit on. You can enjoy a picnic. You can take a ball and have a catch, throw a frisbee or whatever you may do for fun. Locals were walking their dogs. Overall, it's just a pleasant, stress free setting. Extra details... - Hours are 7am - 11pm. Address is 218 West Street. - There is parking along the streets for a small fee per hour. You can pay with your credit card at the meters. Overall, McFerson Commons is a quiet little park to hang out at within downtown Columbus. I'm glad I walked around and spent some time here.

Well my friends, this is a great little nook in the downtown area that will certainly fill that need. McFerson Commons, otherwise known as "Arch Park" faces Nationwide Blvd and runs long and narrow between two buildings. The famous arch greets you near the sidewalk and once you walk through, the grass welcomes you with open arms. There's a few benches but I'm a fan of ground sitting honestly. The space is also kept really clean. It makes for a great photo op, especially if you can get one under the arch. I believe various events are also thrown here. It could definitely be versatile. Go ahead, take a break and enjoy escaping the hustle and bustle of the city in this quaint splash of green.

It's located across the street from Victory Park in Pickerington and a few hundred feet down. I used to go to this park in the summer, over the years because they hosted a summer concert series in the amphitheater that included one group that I enjoyed more than others (anyone know if Paradise Island is still performing?). Outside of that, we never spent much time there. Yesterday, we decided to check out areas to relax and decided to give Sycamore Creek Park a look since we really hadn't seen the park itself. It's fairly decent, with a walking trail and a few picnic areas, in case you want to take family and friends for a cookout. It even has a section you can reserve. There's also a tennis and basketball court, if you're feeling active. I took interest in the pond area, in which several people were fishing. I walked over to the south side of it and found a nice vantage point or photos. However, if I wanted to take advantage of the sunset, there was a huge rock that I could pose my subjects on. I didn't walk around, but I may do it later to see if there is anything else of interest. I did add two photos so you can see what I'm taking about, regarding the pond. I understand that they have a sledding hill in the winter time. Something you might want to consider for the kids (and adults). Worth checking out.

While your down there your using a provided map to guide yourself around and match the corresponding areas ( Ex; A to A or 1-1 ) We went after it had just rained the night before, so everything was VERY wet. Wear waterproof/walking shoes if you plan on exploring. Be prepared to get dripped on by very cold water coming off nearby rocks, and the "ceiling". Coming down the initial very steep stairs is a beautiful view of different levels of rocks decending into a tunnel/cave where the rest of the cavers are. Tons of puddles all over the ground from collected rain water and the "droplets". Most the areas are about big enough for one person to walk through the tunnel areas at one time, and if your a larger person i DO NOT recommend going down there. Some areas are extremely tight and really only accessible to someone under 4'5 and around 100 pounds or less. (Im 5'4, 140 and some areas i almost got stuck cause it was too tight going through the rocks. It is neat to see though, i dont think id want to do it again as it is just wet rocks and the furthest tunnel was closed from the previous year that occurred from some heavy rain water. (The water collected, over time causing a collapse). So that was kind of a bummer but i get it for safety reasons. The gem mining was fun, definitely loaded with a lot of "gravel" type rocks so that was new for me, Ive only ever had ones with dirt/sand that yield rocks/gems/shark teeth. We found some really interesting gemstones in each tray. The petting zoo was great. I thought it wad Going to be boring and smelly, and i was happily wrong. The goats were adorable, when we came in a baby jumped through the fence and was following our group. And when we came inside the "pen" to pet them he ran back in it was very cute! The deer were a little skittish but very sweet and gentle. The treasure hunt/maze was VERY fun we enjoyed getting different prizes snd trading them within the group.
