But if you want a quaint Motel, that is clean and where the owner treats you as a friend (the morning guy, not so much), and has overall comfort, then this is the place to lay your head. My room sports a full size bed, recliner, 42 inch flat screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge. While the fridge sits on the floor oh, and the microwave on top, it works well. And that is my main concern. Also, their is Wi-Fi is secured! Woohoo! So far, it's working well for me. A really nice room, at a fantastic price. We will see what the morning brings. I have gotten in the habit of wearing my socks, until I'm ready to get cleaned up. So this morning, when I took my socks off, the carpet was slightly damp. I don't know if this was from a recent cleaning, or due to all the rain and 100% humidity they've been having. When I asked the morning Clerk, his reply was "yeah". Nothing else. Though, when I checked out, he did say, have a nice day. Like the motel, the breakfast is an old fashioned continental breakfast of donuts, and frozen waffles (since I had waffles yesterday I didn't want waffles again today). So, I decided to eat breakfast on the road (I had to wait for 60 miles before something finally showed up that wasn't a big chain joint). So, with the damp carpet and the clerk's attitude, I had to downgrade to 3 Stars. But the lady in housekeeping wrote a very lengthy note to her guests, which was a pleasant surprise.

I like supporting the local people, whether it be restaurants or "motels." This is the first motel in a long time and I'm impressed. I have been up since 3:15 AM so as to catch my flight today and now I'm kicked back in my recliner enjoying the night. I have stayed at places like this our west off Route 66. I'm comfortable here and they offer the amenities of the chains, micro fridge, microwave, clean room, all is good. For those who work out, you can purchase a day pass to the local YMCA, book says $4.00. Not a bad deal. They have a breakfast in the mornings and it's simple but sufficient. It does bring back the old times of a family vacation. Plenty of TV Channels to choose from and close to downtown where some good restaurants are located. All in all good location! Well one more time, I love the recliner. I'm so well rested now.

Always something about hotel lobbies, fireplaces, and good friends that is satisfying. The Friday night buffet is BBQ, and following a week of Great Smokies's dining, we were eager to enjoy "German style" meals. Brisket was better than southern; pulled pork had no flavor; ribs were burned; great salad bar; very few veggies. Rustic-style hotel located within the Sauder Village complex, featuring an indoor pool with a waterfall, complimentary hot breakfast, and charming timber-frame architecture. Hotel is on par with nice Ohio State Park property. Our room was a suite - large inclusive living room with Great Bed. Also a special sun room is attached. Great services and service folks. Caveat: avoid rooms in pool area; we like children, but even one high pitched voice fills an area. Highly recommend.

I wasn't used to the bed, but I was able to get some sleep. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo and conditioner. They do have soap and lotion as well. There is no coffee machine in the room, but free coffee can be found in the kitchen area by the big tree. The Inn provides free breakfast. They had food items such as bagels, waffles, muffins, fruit, cereal, and more. I don't usually like breakfast at hotels so I did not each much. Additionally, there is a pool area with a hot tub. They also have a game room. I didn't get a chance to go to the game room. They do have rooms you can rent for events. We saw a crafting event and a wedding while we were here. Overall, this is an awesome Inn and I enjoyed my time. I would like to revisit with my family.

Clean white sheets, pillows are okay and same goes for the towels but the rooms themselves are very old and need some serious updating for $$$ change per room. The breakfast is pretty bad not much choice to choose and the meat breakfast patties look like they were boiled not fried so I'm not sure how they were cooked and the eggs definitely are from powder eggs not fresh eggs by the look of the sad scrambled eggs in the tray. Waffles that you can make yourself and I think I saw some yogurt and some fresh citrus fruit. We never have any of their breakfast foods, so we don't get sick and then travel. The hotel charges a pretty high room charge per night like you are in a big city hotel and this is a small town in the middle of cornfield Ohio not even a city and here you are very far from a proper city. Napoleon town doesn't even have a good restaurant even a typical chain restaurant at least. So that is when you know you are in a small town. We had no choice since we are visiting my husband's family for an event so that is the only reason we stayed here now and in the past but soon hopefully there will be a new hotel since I see the construction build near the expressway where hopefully were we will not feel like we are paying a 3-4 star price in a 1 star hotel.

I was being recruited for a position in a company in the area and I was interviewing/checking out the company/checking out the area. I stayed in a room with a king sized bed. I ultimately took the job. I had to immediately book the hotel again. I therefore stayed here again from Jan 10 2020 for over a month while waiting to first get possession of the home I bought and during the time my floors were getting redone. Stayed in a suite, with two queen beds and a living rook that had a fold out sofa bed. Hard living with two other people in such a small enclosed space. The hotel does offer suites with kitchen, alas they are few and hard to come by. I spent the time in one without one and had to eat out all the time. My stats were pleasant, considering all the above. The hotel breakfast room is large and comfortable. The hotel has an indoor heated pool which is a big plus! The staff also is the friendliest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. I would talk to them all the time. We would ask how we were all doing, where we were in our move. These are genuinely warm people and the best part of staying at this hotel. There are some weaknesses. The breakfast is unappetizing, and I usually avoided it.. even though it was included in my stay. It didn't taste bad... just didn't have taste... it was bland. The coffee is weak. The suites can also definitely be a little larger and they need updating. Some of the furniture seems to have seen much better days. Still, I did enjoy my stay here and was thankful that I was able to find a hotel for such a long stay in such short notice.

There was still the previous guests washcloth slung over the shower curtain, someone else's hair clinging to the shower wall, what appears to be mold on the yellow wallpaper, and the cherry on top of the room disgrace? While I'm absolutely positive the reason for this horrendous room will inevitably be blamed on Covid, it strikes me as odd that I should be charged full price for their lack of staff or care. If you can, roll on to the next town for a place to sleep.

We moved away in 2012 it was fabulous back then. Upon checking in the Lobby is very dim/dark it needs some brightness to it. The man at the desk was not the friendliest. The lady who answered the phone when we called ahead was better at customer service so they may want to think of changing roles. The Lobby was clean. I do hate they got rid of the pool and put in a conference room. Even though we didn't bring our kids this trip. that's usually a sales point for us so we usually stay in Bluffton or Portland when we come visit our families. Our room was on the second floor and this hotel has not elevators so if you have limits make sure you let them know prior. The bed was clean no issues at first when I sat on the bed I felt it was going to be a hard sleep because the bed was way to soft. (We prefer xtra firm) but with that being said when we laid down it was actually pretty comfortable. you melt into the bed. Even thought they don't have an attendee during the night they do have an emergency number to call we didn't need the number at all. Down fall we went to the bathroom to take a shower and noticed that on the back of door their was some blue sprayed on the door (tooth paste maybe) along with the outside of the tub base had stuff on it that was brown. So we did have to clean the tub prior to using it. The water pressure is not the greatest but it did it's job. They don't have enough shampoo in the room for two people so make sure you ask for more or bring yours from home. Pricing: the price was great it was 1/2 the price we would of paid in Bluffton or Portland. But I would pay higher to have the bathrooms cleaner. At 10 am housekeeping knocked on the door to see if we needed anything or to remind us that check out is at 11am. Lol...When we went to leave the same attendant was working this time much friendlier. I know we all have bad days and one offs.

However, it was booked, so we had two options of where to stay: Schug House or a hotel. The hotel is newer and was $70+ and Schug House was historic and cost around $45. We thought it would be charming and a great value, and that's what we got! When I made the reservation, the owner was really friendly and helpful. She even gave us permission to invite the grandparents to breakfast! Without charging us! We didn't know what time of night we'd get in, so she said she'd leave directions on the door. We didn't have to worry about being locked out. We found our room, which was full of antiques. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. Most B&Bs don't have spacious rooms because they are in old homes, and this was no exception. But it was just fine for the two of us. We loved the room. The only thing that we didn't like was the window air conditioning, again a throwback to the historic building. It was a little noisy. But the inn was pretty quiet overall. We didn't hear the neighbors. The breakfast was really good! I wasn't expecting that much because we were told that it was fruit, cheese and 3 types of baked goods. It was very filling though. We started with a fruit cup. The baked goods were croissants, a breakfast bread (not sure of the kind), and coffee cake. Fresh and delicious. There was OJ, juice and tea. Also, cereal. The cheese was also yummy. I had a lot of it! Ha! They eat family style here, so be ready to mingle with other guests. Breakfast is served until 10, which is nice if you want to sleep in. Did I mention the great price of this place? I'm still surprised for what we got!! If you're looking for a charming place with friendly owners & workers and a yummy breakfast, make a reservation! My fiance's family said they are going to stay here now whenever they visit because it's not much more than the guest room at the retirement community and has much more charm plus breakfast. We definitely will stay there next year on our annual visit as well!
