Where to begin...well, I had been dealing with serious allergy issues this year (and have been for…read moremany many years), and decided to move forward attempting to correct allergy issues along with a deviated septum (had that for as long as I could remember). When I first visited Dr. K and his team in their Houston office, I immediately knew they were going to be a superstar team. Everyone in the office is kind, knowledgeable, and professional and they are just flat out great people! Dr. K first saw me back in March, and suggested that we start treating my severe allergies prior to tackling my deviated septum and other nose issues. I went through the allergy testing and learned I was allergic to EVERYTHING! haha but the team formulated my perfect blend of allergy drops and then I began feeling better and better as time went on. Sublingual Immunotherapy has clearly helped reduce my allergy symptoms to near zero and I feel GREAT now. Secondly, after getting my allergies in check, Dr. K felt that it was time to fix my nose issues. This required a turbinate reduction, balloon sinuplasty, and correction of my severely deviated septum. I decided to go under general anesthesia to complete the whole procedure and I can safely say, that it was 100% effective. I cannot remember the last time I breathed so freely. The surgery was definitely one of the best decisions of my life, and I sleep so much better at night with no snoring and fewer sleep disturbances at night (my partner loves this haha). I had heard horror stories about how the post op phase post nasal surgery could be extremely uncomfortable, yet that's the best part about Dr. K's recommendations. THERE WAS NO NASAL PACKING! I can honestly say that there was extremely minimal discomfort post surgery, and that I felt right back to normal in about 5 days. To be honest, only on days 3-4 post surgery did I feel any fatigue/minor discomfort. But the best part was the feeling of being able to breathe because there was no nasal packing. Overall, my experience with Dr. K and the Texas Sinus, Allergy, Snoring and Sleep Institute has been the BEST. I can safely say that they have been able to change my life for the best, and I would highly recommend their services to anyone in the Houston/Woodlands area!

Not until you call at least 3 times. Then the person calling you, in our case, Regina, calls (finally) and I find that they are in Kerrville, Tx. We are in Houston. She tells us to send the sleep study results that was a home study and gives us her email address. We verify the address twice. I emailed the study yesterday. Not only did I not get acknowledgement but when I tried to call, no one answers any of the extensions except for billing. (no surprise there). It's an independent billing place but I told her that I'm having a problem reaching Texas Sleep Docs (the actual agency Cinco Ranch Sleep Center uses) she replies that she's had this complaint several times. She tried to help but she only had the number I have. So, fortunately, there are other sleep centers in the Katy, Cypress, Houston area and we will now go elsewhere. Three weeks just to hear from someone is ridiculous.

It seemed nice and they were so helpful in the scheduling and insurance stuff. Night of study I show up and it's a comfortable looking room with a private bath. One of the techs didn't show up so one tech was having to run around and put everyone's wires on by himself. He was super friendly though and made me feel comfortable. I did notice at this point that I could hear everyone around me - super thin walls. I slept a bit and then I woke up to this god awful screaming of a child playing outside the room and getting in trouble. I kept trying to go back to sleep only to fall asleep and be woken up yet again by the screaming child. I swear this went on for an hour or more and I was about to scream myself for continuing to be woken up during a sleep study I was paying a lot of money for. My daytime study went well. I didn't think I would have complaints there.... UNTIL I took my sleep study to my doctor for them to tell me that the study was done wrong and was INVALID. Now, I have been told this by two doctors that I've had to use this study with. I will eventually have to be retested and it makes me angry that I had to pay for a study that was practically deemed useless in the end for it not being performed or analyzed correctly.

I did the pre-check in online and figured there would be little to no paperwork to do when I arrived however that wasn't the case. No big deal. My appointment was for 0900. I completed the paperwork and sat down and waited to be called back. Waited for literally one hour because I heard his assistant telling other patients how busy the doctor is and things are running behind schedule. Finally at 1000 I've had enough and I go back up to the desk to tell his assistant that I've been waiting for an hour and she realized that they "forgot" about me. I tell her I'm leaving at this point and I want them to refund my copay which I paid in advance during the check-in process and she tells me that she will give me a number to call. I tell her I'm not calling any number as they've wasted my time prepping for the appointment, driving there and sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. He may be a great doctor but I wouldn't know because his staff sucks.

The machine is not working correctly. I have tried to call them now for two days leaving messages with no response from their office. Now I have found out they are no longer part of the Millennium Physicians group. They don't answer any of their phones. And they don't return any of my messages I have left. Now I have a machine that is not working and cannot make contact with them at all. I will be turning in my machine and looking for a different Sleep doctor. This group is a joke. I do not recommend using this group at all. Save yourself a lot of frustration and go somewhere else.

Another interesting adventure of my life is to experience something unique, not everyone gets to…read moreexperience it. Since I have to do this at least once, I was to write a review on Yelp that would last longer.  When I received an invitation from my doctor to visit Memorial Hermann Sleep Center in Sugar Land, I was flabbergasted. I had to ask around what CPAP Titration was.  There's not much help from memorial Hermann website. I found a couple of videos from far away clinics and a Memorial Hermann Sleep Center. That video must be very old because TV was still tube TV (OMG. Do you even know what a tube TV is).  I was told why I couldn't go to MHSW Sleep Lab near Chinatown. So I was out of luck. When I called to make my appointment, I was told "just like going to stay at a hotel." Of course, it's just their standard reply.   Here are few tips for those of you who would use this facility: - Bring your pillow and blanket, if you must sleep with them. - Fitbit is allowed. - Tell the sleep technician about what temperature you normally sleep in. For me, 60 degrees is too cold. But water will accumulate in the tube when room temperature is warm. - Be sure to wear a long pajama pants. This is to avoid the wires being tangled around your legs.  - Bring something to read. There ain't many channels on TV. WiFi is sufficient but can't stream movies. - Tell the technician what time you go to bed. It require 6 hour of study. He/she will adjust when to start the procedure. I consulted a Yelper friend who has gone through this experience. I compared our experiences as "lab rats". As I got all hooked up with wires and tube connected to the mask, I took a selfie. I was about to post it on Facebook, the light went off. Then, I guess I felt asleep and I dreamed about me spooking my coworkers with my mask. I'm still laughing this day.
