I came here a year ago to grab some items and was one of the lucky random customers to receive a $10 gift card. Finally used it and was able to find items that added up to $10, unlike some other stores that make it impossible to get a $10 combo of items. I had to do some fidgeting around though because coupons only applied to certain BBB products. I opted for curb side pick up (first time ever) and had a great experience. This store is a wonderful one-stop-shop, right there in the Fairview Shopping Center, next to Michael's Craft Store, and with plenty of parking right outside their doors. We went in on a very busy Christmas shopping day to buy supplies for the kitchen, and ended up finding so much more. Salesperson Ahmed spotted us wandering the aisles, asked us if we needed help, and he then went above and beyond and became our own "Personal Shopper." He was very helpful in making product suggestions for assorted kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and glassware. We originally had just gone in for some Keurig coffee pods, and even there, Ahmed recommended a new Italian Brand that is now our favorite. And check out is usually pretty quick and easy. It was a second time that we had been checked out by Jill, who recommended some on-line coupons, and once again she was helpful in making sure we got in and out in a timely manner. 20% off coupons, my jam. I make sure to never leave home without them. I have the store's app but for some odd reason, my smartphone's Internet will not work while here. I make sure to snap a screenshot of the online coupon's scan code, or simply bring the mail-out paper coupon with me. This is a large, clean store with a wide variety of merchandise. I've never considered their items to be affordable but the coupon certainly helps. The shopping center has more than enough shaded parking (nice on a hot day) and I feel that this location is staffed fairly well. I have been coming here for laundry detergent (of all things). They have surprisingly good prices on their name brand detergents. The selection is in the very rear of the store and I like to think of it as my secret area. I'm running low on detergent and will be back here soon. read more

Awful service, and equally awful customers. Avoid this location at all costs. I've been shopping at BBB for over a decade at the San Francisco - SOMA location, and have always had great customer service with seemingly normal customers who are polite. BBB - Goleta, you need help. I just moved to SB, and went to BBB twice in one week, getting last minute items for the house. Both experiences were bad. First visit was on a Saturday mid-day, it wasn't crowded. I ask a store clerk for help, who asks me to "hold-on" while she speaks to her co-worker. The co-worker interrupts her and asks how he might help me. Second visit was on a Monday mid-day, again, it wasn't crowded. Again, asking a store clerk for help, this time it started off well, however when I repeat my question since her response seemed off, she repeated herself with intensity and attitude. The customers are also pushy, snotty, and rude - as if this is something to be proud of? No, thanks. Will shop somewhere else. read more

This place is so great this time of year, the employees were so nice to me and my mom. One of the cashiers welcomed us in and this one older lady working a register took extra care to make sure the pie plates we got didn't break and she wrapped them in paper and stuck them in the bag and then double bagged it. Every time I go in this place, no fail, somebody (usually the cashier) greets me as I enter. So 5 stars for that. But as I'm walking around the store, there are not many salespeople around, and definitely nobody offering help or asking if I need assistance. So 1 star for that. However, this place is always nicely stocked. The organization is just so-so, but I find that at almost every Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I frequent this place because it's one of the only options around, and how cool is it to load up on those 20% off coupons? (If you don't know, you can use them after they're expired and you can use as many as you want in one visit, regardless what is printed on the coupon.) But even with the 20% off, I find it a little pricey. Nothing beats IKEA of course, but Bed Bath and Beyond does the trick for Goleta and Santa Barbara residents. read more

BED, BATH & BEYOND COMPREHENSION: Super nice staff, but I personally watched as a male manager kind of hung over my associate and watched her every move as she graciously helped me with a return. -Really made me feel awkward, so I can only assume how it made her feel. He kept asking if she had obtained a receipt from me, which she had verified. But he just persisted and looked so sour-faced and watched her every move until I left. He also was right at her side...I mean almost on her shoulder. She was a sweeter later middle aged woman who was very personable and knowledgeable/professional otherwise I've been here many times and like the selection. There is a huge amount of merchandise and they bring in seasonal selections as well that are always fun to parouse through. Sometimes it's a bit hard to find a sales associate to ask for help in the main store, but when you do they are always kind and helpful. I'm marking them a "3" star because of how it appears that the managers treat employees and also for the need to have greater accessibility of number of staff on duty to help with customer questions. read more

The manager Ed, is amazing! The other day i had broken my makeup mirror (the kind that attaches to the wall) and I had been on a quest to replace it. I must have called ten different places that day and finally at BBB i was transferred to a clerk who said that they had 3 different models in stock and he quoted the prices to me. I asked him to put the cheapest model on hold and told him I would be in that evening to pick it up. When I arrived the cashier on duty couldn't locate it in the hold room. I tried to find another model on the floor but they were out. One of the other cashiers looked it up in the system and turns out they didn't even have any in stock! I was disappointed and frustrated that I had been told something else by the clerk to whom I had spoken earlier in the day and that I had made the trip out there for nothing. But then Ed, the manager on duty, came by and offered to see what he could do to help. After checking the costs, he offered me the model they did have in stock - a much higher end and more expensive one - for the same price as the one I had put on hold. He even let me use my coupon on it! He turned a crappy situation into a wonderful one with his kindness and professionalism. The other cashiers who were there were also very friendly and polite. Overall, I was so impressed by their customer service and willingness to make it right that I will be a customer for life now. read more

Nice location with good customer service. I have been here twice; once to purchase items for my room and a second time to return an online order. I was frustrated that they make you call customer service to cancel online orders. By the time I realized this the item had already shipped. They did allow me to return the item in the store and refunded me. That being said, I have experienced good service here most of the time. read more

I went here with the intention of purchasing a vacuum the other day. There were many choices, vacuums with gadgets that I had absolutely no idea what they were for or why I would pay that much money. Tami took about 1/2 an hour to explain in great detail each vacuum and their gadgets... not only that, she made several suggestions for the problem I was having in my home. I had a frustrating experience in BBB today. I had purchased sheets there that were very expensive (over $100) and they had ripped. I had written a poor product review of them on the BBB website, so that others would know that they would not last. I had received a very nice email from BBB saying that I could bring them to the store for a refund, minus 20%, even without a receipt, or do an even exchange. I printed the email, and brought the sheets in. The process of trying to either get store credit or an exchange took about 40 minutes,very frustrating, and I did not get my refund or exchange. First, they could not find the sheets SKU number. I was able to find the sheets, Perfect Touch, on the BBB website, no problem. They retail for $139.00 for the queen size. The manager was called, and when Carol came, she looked on the computer and then bluntly told me (no greeting whatsoever), that I must have bought them on closeout for $57. I assured her that this was not the case, and that even though I had bought them years ago, I remember that they were expensive. She told me that she would give me store credit for $57, minus 20%, and that was all. At that point, she walked away from me. I guess that conversation was over. I had BBB on the phone to get their help, and they said that they could not tell the store manager what to do, but that she should honor the email. How this manager came to the conclusion that these sheets were purchased on sale is a mystery to me, since I cannot remember even the exact year I purchased them. I am guessing 3 years ago, but maybe it was 4 and maybe it was 2. I left with my torn sheets in hand, and the printed email that was so nice, but otherwise empty handed. read more

Made a last minute appointment yesterday for my fiancé and I to setup our wedding registry at our local BB&B. We couldn't be any HAPPIER with the experience! April set us up, and she was great! Karen led us through the whole selection and scanning process, and she was absolutely AMAZING! She went above and BEYOND to make sure we were well-informed, made the right selections based on our needs, and did it all with a smile and tons of energy. It's a great place to go and make a shopping list. You can touch and feel all the fabrics of the items you want, and then go on amazon.com and find the exact same thing for up to a hundred dollars cheaper..... Or so it seems. We shall see in five days when my new comforter arrives in the mail. Otherwise, the store itself seems very cluttered, which drives me bonkers. I can't see anything in clutter besides clutter. I need to have a specific item in mind before I even walk in that place. I feel like a boarder line hoarder, if only temporarily, when I'm in that store. read more

Pros - Lots of selection. Cons - narrow aisles, LONG lines, slow cashiers, and often hard to find someone to help you.

First of all Eddie Melendez the store manager was the rudest , most unhelpful person we encountered. I work in customer service and the way we were treated today was totally unacceptable. When we went up to pay I couldn't get into the website to find our coupon because the WiFi we were told to use kept kicking us out. I told him we had a coupon that wasn't pulling up and he could care less. He told us we could come back and redeem our savings another time, when we said we had problems doing that in the past, he said "That's a lie." I was not okay with him insinuating that we were liars. Even tho he said that I still continued to try and redeem our coupon which was still not loading up. I told him it keeps kicking me out and all he said was "let me see" he looked at my phone screen that was blank from the lack of internet and that was it. Frustrated with the lack of help with our situation and being told that we lied we left the store without purchasing anything. Which is also frustrating because we needed the items we came in there for. We called the corporate customer service number and they were super helpful with letting us know what should've happened in that situation and gave us more coupons to use. So thank you to the corporate customer service team! Needless to say we will using our coupons at a different location. Eddie Melendez if you hate your job (which seems like it) then change it, simple as that, don't take it out on the patrons of your store. read more
