I have to say this bank is the Worst Bank I have ever banked with. The staff is friendly, but…read morethat's about it. I went to the bank to ask them how I can not be charged a service charge. They told me I needed a minimum in my checking account. They made a transfer from the savings to checking account so that I would not be charged the service charge monthly. AND then the next statement I get, there's ANOTHER SERVICE CHARGE! I got my Banner Bank Mastercard Statement today and there is a credit balance on it. I called in and after speaking with an agent for 5-10 minutes she tells me she will transfer me to the credit card department. The transfer goes through and once again I am NOT at the credit card department. The lady gives me the number for the credit card department and ITS THE SAME NUMBER I ALREADY CALLED. So I call again and ASK for the credit card department. The lady that answers is the exact same lady I already talked to who told just gave me the number for the credit card department! OMG! what the hell?!!! So now I actually have to waste even more of my precious time and drive down to the branch and have them take care of this problem. THESE PEOPLE ARE PATHETIC. Safe yourself the aggravation and BANK SOMEHWERE ELSE!

Everyone had their heads down working and wanting to go home. . Had kids with me and they ignored them too when they asked me if the bank had suckers. I said, they don't have suckers. The twins said "well I think I see chocolate candy on their desk". No one even said a word or offered it to them after the kids mentioned the candy. And they all heard. No other customers. While I was filling out a deposit slip, I heard a lady at a desk, talking to a customer on the phone and after about a 2/3 min conversation, she said "Let me talk to my supervisors & I'll get back with you." When she hung up, another employee said, you can't get them now...."She said "I know, I just said that to get off the phone with them." I'm glad I'm at Wells Fargo. Unfriendly and just going through the motions at Banner.

I…read moreapplied for a transferred mortgage last year about this time, and they took about 2 months to get back to me, with a very small reduction in my current rate. I called Whatcom Educators CU, and the manager got back to me in about 10 minutes. Now I have a much better mortgage rate with WECU. I pay my WSECU credit card early and always for over 4 years. They would not increase my limit (from $5000 to $6000) without a hard pull on my credit. This year, I had a fraudulent charge on this WSECU credit card. That in itself is a concern. I did not get any notice about it. I asked them to close my credit account. Apparently, I didn't communicate adequately, as the closed my card, but left the credit account open. I went into a branch to figure out how to get the account closed. They stated that closing a credit account (with zero balance) would be a detriment on my credit report. I closed it any way. Terrible communication and listening skills with minimal verbal contact…read more We applied for a HELOC loan, online and nobody contacted us to prepare us for what we will need to put our best application forward. They just ran our credit before contacting us and made us a counteroffer based solely on the minimal information in their application which never asked for savings or other assets. No one ever contacted us to ask for income information or assets until after they ran our credit. Our credit is 750+, our payment history is spotless, and our savings are greater than our debt. The agent was very dry and impersonal the few times we spoke with her (twice for less than 5 minutes) and we felt like we were just a number the entire time. She offered less than what we wanted, even though they valued our home at a much higher value than we expected, and never acknowledged anything we would communicate to her about our assets or savings. She would just email us for more information and never ask for our assets or personal savings information that would show our savings are larger than our debt, leading me to believe they do not take your assets or savings into account when calculating loans. Thereby never having a full picture of our net worth. Our entire experience felt impersonal and robotic. It almost felt like they never listened and gave us a "take it or leave it" offer without discussing or reviewing all of our assets. I couldn't help but feel they were being biased. If you want to deal with dry, unfriendly people who will make decisions from little information and not acknowledge anything you bring up, then WSECU is the place for you.

I'd recommend booking an appointment in person or through the phone so that you can get 1 to 1 service in an office. My dad and I had an appointment at 4:30pm and came about 10 minutes early, and the person helping us allowed us into his office. Shoutout to Joe, he was extremely helpful, gave great advice to build credit score, and walked me through each of the steps! He can definitely do so much work within a short amount of time - really great efforts. Overall, this bank and the staff are helpful. There is parking available right out front. This bank is also easily located in the corner of a plaza, so afterwards you can walk around to the shops!

I have banked with Mechanics Bank for over a decade, started in 2015 in California, and saw this location and was eager to come and make a deposit. Customer parking was well marked as was the entrance/exit, though I did need directing to the doors when I left the building. Entering the building, I found the deposit slips and filling out area located centrally inside the main entrance/exit. I filled out a slip and took it to the teller with my cash and identification. The teller looked up my account number and asked some clarifying questions. Turns out I was a legacy Mechanics Bank account and they were in the process of merging fully with another bank for the location by later in the month. The teller talked to other employees and called another branch to see if my deposit could be worked on, turned out it was limited access for who could perform the deposit for legacy accounts at that point in time. Another worker came back from their lunch break and started working on it. The teller was kind and made small talk and then directed me to a waiting area as the other worker figured it out. The chair I sat in while I waited was comfy. As I waited some music played on a small boombox on a table with refreshments by the chairs. Music played included a song I recognized from a movie trailer of a movie I wanted to see releasing in theaters later in the month. As the worker progressed they kept me updated, calling me in to their office when ready. As some aspects of the merger were processing, I was told there would be a delay to next day for money availability. The handwritten deposit slip was even on a HomeStreet Bank letterhead, a reminder the merger was still in process. All of the workers I interacted with were friendly and professional.

Recently had to interact due to a weekend mistake I made, which I quickly corrected on Monday. Asked for grace to have overdraft fee reversed since I haven't had an overdraft for years and I'm on a fixed income. They had to "do research" and then came back with a no hours later. This was after having to call back on Tuesday because they were too busy on Monday to even take a message without it being a complicated procedure for them. I'd move my mortgage if I could.

I was a member of Horizon Banking, which I liked, when Washington Federal took them over with the…read morebank collapsing fiasco. Washington Federal has been ok but not great, I would have rated them a 3 star over the years. However, they just changed their online banking system and the problems are horrendous. First, they changed how you accessed your account - instead of the old way with secure logins etc, you now had to login and use your social security number (last 6 digits) as your password. Even after you set up a new password, etc. access to the account doesn't necessarily work and wrong information is in the account as if they are mixing information from several accounts together - again likely to give others access to your account because their phone number goes to your account now. They also say they link any phone number you call in on to the account, whether it is listed as a valid phone number on the account or not - so anyone who has access to that phone and knows basic information about you (like your birth date or last 4 of your social) can get access to your account info. The online phone center has no clue - they just do the simple thing of getting into whatever account and giving you the info about the account, no caring that they didn't properly pull up the correct account nor validate the caller. There are a lot of severe problems with the new online accounts, even a week later, and no end in sight of them being fixed. Time to switch banks and find one that has at least basic security and working software.
