Beware of this practice. My wife had a crown pop off and was referred by a friend. They take X-ray and say the tooth behind the crown that came off need a root canal and dr Becker says the crown that came off has lots of decay and will need to be replace. He Re-cemented the crown and it literally can off 2 hours after she left the office. The front office was so disorganized and unprofessional they never provided a treatment plan, telling her the 2 crowns would be $700 a piece. She went to the Endodontist he recommended and had the root canal. Dr Becker's office called a few days prior to her appointment to get the 2 crowns and the lady told her FYI you'll be $2000 out of pocket. She kept pressing my wife say I have 6 other patients trying to get in do you want to keep your appointment. We said $2000 is not the amount we discussed can Dr. Becker do a build up on the root canaled tooth to protect it until we can find a different dentist. They called back the next day a said no he wouldn't do it and the temporary filling will last. 2 days later the temp filling started to fail. Long story short we got a second opinion and the new dentist put the old crown on no problem and said it should last a life time and he also did the build up on the root canal no problem. He also said the tooth Dr Becker sent her out for a root canal didn't even meed a root canal Last this I had an exam X-rays and a cleaning with this guy at the same time and he said I have 6 cavities and need a crown and deep cleanings. Then gave me a treatment plan for $1200. My dad is a dentist in another state and has Taught us how to spot a rip-off artist and this guy should be ashamed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!!! read more

Dr. Becker's office has been a wonderful dental office. We've received terrific care for routine cleaning and exams. But I wanted to write this review as their office went above and beyond again when my front crown implant (implanted by another office over a decade ago) came off suddenly as I was flossing one night. Their office staff did everything possible to try to work me in to get it taken care of that day, as they were not open for the next few days otherwise. Dr. Becker took great care of gluing my crown in again. Their office staff is incredibly knowledgeable about Aflac insurance and I don't have to worry about making the claims. Dr Becker has been my dentist for over 20 years. He provides excellent service and always explains things in a way a patient can understand. He's never in a rush And always listens to his patients and always listens to his patients. He has the best technology and Knows how to use it. His staff is amazing and have been there with him for years. When you walk in you are always recognized by name. Virginia remembers your name and always is on top of your needs. I felt the need to put in this review after reading a negative review of Dr. Becker's office. I've been coming here for two years and have had nothing but exceptional service. Dr. Becker provides very thorough exams. He uses state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and treat. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They are always present and on time, and I have never had billing issues. I always receive a reminder call. The hygienist does the cleaning, which I would expect, because that is what hygienists do. Dr. Becker always does an exam as well. He doesn't hesitate to refer to endodontics for root canals, which I also like. The office is open Tu-Thurs only, which is good because I want my dentist to be well-rested. I have been to many dentists in the Point Loma and Hillcrest areas, and have found Dr. Becker to be the best of them all! read more

I'm from the east coast and am traveling on business in California. I developed a tooth problem causing much pain. Dr. Becker was in my network so I contacted his office late yesterday afternoon. They said to come right in. Dr. Becker and some of his staff stayed until 8pm remedying my problem. This experience, though not under the best of circumstances, was excellent. Dr. Becker's staff was most courteous (thanks Virginia) and Dr. Becker was fantastic. Residents of San Diego are fortunate to have such a fine professional. read more

Issue resolved. The service was great! The one star comes from after the dental office 7 weeks later asking for an additional $200. Ridiculous. I literally had my insurance pay the $850 and I paid to he other $800 out of pocket and now another $200. I would advise staying away from this practice. Nearly &2000 for a root channel with good insurance. read more

Dr. Becker himself is a good dentist. His practice, unfortunately, is a disorganized and chaotic mess. They don't understand how to bill insurance, they are always running late, I've shown up for appointments and the office is locked and no one is inside - when I call the next day they say that they don't work on those days. Weird. For two checkup./cleanings in a row, I made an appointment, the hygienist did the work, and then when it came time for Dr. Becker to check on me, he had "just left for lunch," and then "was busy with a patient." Deplorable, and, to be honest, bordering on insurance fraud, as insurance was billed for a visit to a dentist, whereas I had visited a hygienist. read more

Dr. Becker is hands-down the best choice if you have Aflac dental. You'll end up owing hundreds of dollars or getting inferior care at other dentists' offices. My teeth look and feel great. I'm really impressed that he was able to fill a chip in my front tooth. It looks completely natural. read more

Dr Becker and his staff have been very caring and helpful over the last year that I have been going there. I needed a lot of work done and they helped me navigate billing with both of my insurance companies so that I had to pay little or none out of pocket. I've seen my fair share of dentists and I have been really impressed with Dr. Becker and his staff. Scheduling is easy, I always get a reminder, they are accommodating and really nice and polite. I've been nothing but happy with the care I've received. They're very thorough with the cleanings, and Dr. Becker is really gentle even when doing major work. i went to see Dr Becker for a check up and cleaning. He discovered I needed a root canal so I made the appt.At that appt they numbed my mouth and attempted to put what they call an " Isolet" in my mouth but it didnt fit, it was too big. He immediately set my chair up and told me to go to an Endodentist. I never went. A month later I broke a tooth eating ice so I called Dr Becker for an appt. At the appt. he took xrays and told me the tooth could be saved. The dental asst comes in and I ask her if they have a smaller isolate for my mouth. She walks out and in comes Dr Becker, he sits my chair up and says " I refuse to work on you! My mouth already numb, in shock I walk out of the office and never reurned. He refuses service for me because my mouth is too small for the required tools!! What the hell? read more

I was a patient at Dr. Becker's office for 10 years.... his staff, I found, was WONDERFUL. You couldn't ask more than how Virginia serves the patients! Rene' also was great... and, can't say enough about the hygienist, Sandy, who had to move. She was AMAZING!!! Dr. Becker tho??? Yeah, NO... I have nothing good to say here. Available only TWO days a week? Will only use his cerec equipment? NO.... I had to leave and see a new dentist I like very much. But... I will miss his staff! Our family of four started seeing Dr. Becker when we moved to the Pt Loma area over 4 years ago and we could walk to our dental appts. It has been a frustrating experience to say the least. Rarely does an appt run on schedule, last straw, my son just went for a cleaning and was in the office for 1 1/2 hrs. Two weeks ago, my other son went in for an emergency appt for an abscess & they charged us $600 saying it wasn't covered by insurance. After calling my insurance company, they told me to question the charge, I suspect this has happened before. On another note (musically) listening to Dr. Becker practice his guitar while I'm a patient in the dental chair is so unprofessional. We are changing dentists and going to Dr. Louis Paulerio in PL, who did my kids wisdom teeth extractions and provided excellent service. The hygienist at Dr. Becker's is very kind and does a thorough job, however, I've rarely had the same hygienist twice (must have a high employee turnover) and Virginia is always pleasant at the front desk, however she seems overworked and somewhat unaware of how the office is ran. read more
