My family and I have been going to Dr. Klitzke for about 12 years now, and they are always wonderful! Having always historically been someone who hated going to the dentist and avoided it whenever possible, when we first started going there, there was a good amount of overdue work that needed to be done. When I'd gone to another dental office, it had felt very much like a sales pitch, with the dentist talking through x-rays briefly and then leading us into another room to speak with their "Finance Dept". It has never been like that with Dr. Klitzke and his team. Their pricing has always been very reasonable, and they have been very helpful in prioritizing and spacing out procedures when needed to fit our schedule and budget. Whenever we have had any kind of dental emergency, he's always quick to call back and find a way to get us into the schedule. Because of the outstanding service that we have always received there, we have referred 2 families that we are friends with to him, and they are "forever clients" of his as well. While few people are ever excited about going to the dentist, Santee Family Dentistry makes doing so easy and painless. read more

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. His staff is overall friendly and did a good job with teeth cleaning. Dr. Klitzke did also a good job with fillings, but he is just plain mean. His old-fashion conversation is kind of offensive (he considers funny telling his patients the story of how he dumped his girlfriend with lies, no #me too knowledge for sure) and was extremely rude on the phone when I called to provide insurance information. I never felt comfortable going to his office and will never go back. read more

Friends gave us coupons for free exam and X-rays, blteeth cleaning was exempt. We were very unhappy as the dentist himself performed this very superficial unthorough procedure that an unschooled novice could have done much better. In fact, the dentist had the temerity to advise my husband to return for further cleaning. He did not bother to polish or scrape stains. Further, he sold me dental brushes at twice the cost at Walmart or Amazon. I understand that this is a common hustle made by dentists. read more

I would have given him ZERO stars if I could. This "sales man" was a recommendation from work, but since day one I noticed he is more of a sales man than a dentist. Always pushing products and unnecessary services/procedures. On this review i will focus on the last incident and it was today. I went in for a second half deep cleaning at 4 pm. The previous time the tech has to give me 6 shots of anesthetic to get me numb; but this time the anesthetic didn't work on me. The tech tech gave me 4 shots and applied local anesthetic. The tech was nice and she worked as gently as she could, but it was painful. Around 5:30 pm, the tech called the dentist to tell him about the anesthetic not working on me; when the dentist got in the room he said to the tech "you've have been here for an hour and a half, you're done, it's 5:30, you're done". the dentist didn't speak or even looked at me; it felt like he was more concerned about the over time he would need to pay the tech rather than the work I was getting done. I googled the reasons why anesthetic fails, and the conclusion is simple human error when applying. The tech only gave me 4 anesthetic shots and based on my body mass they could've given me at least 5 more. I'm not upset about the anesthetic not working and I was willing to suck it up as long as we needed to get the work done, but the "sales man" basically kicked me out of the chair and didn't let the tech finish the work. They tried to convince me to schedule another appointment, but after 5 consultations with the "sales man" I had enough. I don't recommend this guy at ALL, and like I said, if I could give him ZERO stars I would. I will submit another review about how they over charged my insurance by submitting procedures that I didn't get done, all by "wrong coding", once I get the documents from my insurance. read more

I had two crowns done in the back and they fit perfectly. I don't notice that they're there. They blend in with the rest if my teeth. I don't know how long it takes to make those detailed things but he's very skilled at it. read more

I would honestly do 0 stars if I could. I suffer from cold sores and my regular dentist (Larry R. Pawl) was closed so I needed some ASAP. From walking in, the staff was not friendly or welcoming. With the laser portion of the treatment I was in extreme pain and had numbing medicine on which is something I've never had to have done when I get a laser treatment. When I visited my regular dentist today I told them about my experience. They had never heard of there being any pain for treatment or having to use numbing medicine. The treatment only was about a minute long and constant which is supposed to be a pulse so in theory he was using a water laser to almost cut my lip. I would not recommend going here for laser treatment. read more

My name is Dr Arnold Cutler, And I have been a practicing dentist since 1974 with an office in Lakeside California. I had a large silver filling placed , by a senior dental student, when I was a freshman dental student, in 1971. It was still functional, but the remaining tooth was starting to crack. I have seen in my own practice cracked teeth splitting in half and needing extractions. I met Dr. Klitzke, at an Dental Implant study club we both attended. In conversations with him, he sounded like a great dentist who put his patients care as the most important thing that he could do. We discussed different ways of restoring patient smiles to ideal form and function and appearance, and he always had the right plan to do that. So when I decided to put a crown on my cracked tooth, the first dentist I thought of to do it was Dr. Klitzke, even though there are hundreds of other dentists I could have used. I had a few other dental school silver fillings that were showing their age, and he replaced them with new silver fillings that should last me until I leave this earth, as long as I floss and brush them! His office is small like mine is, but all his staff is very friendly, with welcoming smiles, and always looking out for the patients. The local anesthetic injections were 100% painless, and all the treatment was done pain-free, His dental assistant was excellent with removing the water and old silver, and did not let me choke, or poke me with the end of her suction tip. After the anesthetic wore off, there was zero pain, and the tooth was not hot or cold sensitive, which is usually the case with new fillings. The bite on the new fillings was excellent. The silver filling in the crack tooth was removed today, and only 20% of the original tooth was left. He was able to use high tech bonding agents and rebuilding material, to replace the missing 80%. Then he did all the normal stuff to prepare of the tooth for the crown, the impression, and a very nice temporary crown. They spent a lot of time discussing the shade of the new crown instead of just picking a color and say here you go. When the anesthetic wore off,There was no discomfort at all ! If you need any dental treatment at all, and Lakeside is too far to travel to see me, then definitely see Dr. Klitzke, as he will take as good care of you as he did of me! Well two weeks have gone by, and I was there today to have my temporary removed and my aesthetic, non-metallic crown placed. It is a perfect fit as far as shade, bite, and met all the other dental criteria for a well placed crown. It was placed without getting numb, and a painless procedure. I also had a small cavity restored with a tooth colored material, also done with zero discomfort during and after the appointment. If you need any dental treatment, do not hesitate to see Dr. Klitzke and all has amazing staff! read more

Dr. Klitzke has been my dentist for the past four years. In all of these years, I've never had to wait longer than five minutes in his waiting room. He is very hands-on as he does his own cleaning. He is very thorough and is very concerned about not causing any discomfort. His two assistants, Vickie and Joanie, are very friendly and professional. I found Dr.K about 4yrs ago when I was forced to get quick help on a wisdom tooth that was causing me brutal pain. Since then I've reff my mom and my coworker (and his wife). Definitely worth a 5-star review and definitely the type of dentist that you have for a lifetime. After not so great dental experiences in the past with other dentists, Dr. Klitzke was a breath of fresh air. He took his time to explain things to me, which I appreciate because I want to understand what is going on and why. Not once did I feel like Dr. Klitzke was rushing to try and get through as many patients as he can. I felt respected and cared for. The entire staff was great. From the moment I walked in until I left I had a wonderful experience. While getting dental work is not always pleasant, I am happy that I have someone I can trust leading my care.
