Selena is another great reason to choose TYFD- she's organized, responsive, and doesn't make you feel a burden whenever appointment adjustments are needed. When I needed a new crown, they were able to accommodate this procedure the same day. Lastly, Dr. Nguyen and Dr.Le both are super nice and... busy. There were a few visits where I was handed off to other dentists (also nice but not them). Overall, TYFD is worth the patient transfer from La Mesa Dental Artistry.

I had lost several front teeth and needed implants, and Dr. Wachtel handled the whole process with such warmth and compassion that it made an overwhelming situation feel manageable. She clearly cared about getting the outcome right -- not just functionally, but in a way that restored my confidence. Dr. Wachtel has since moved on, and the staff from my time there has likely turned over completely -- but what impressed me recently is that the current team was just as wonderful. When I reached out years later needing help obtaining my old records for an ongoing medical case, they were responsive, helpful, and went out of their way to assist me without hesitation. That kind of continuity of care and genuine helpfulness -- even for a patient from years ago with a completely different team -- says a lot about the culture this practice has maintained. Highly recommend.

With over two decades of being a patient, I believe Dr. Fienberg is absolutely wonderful and, in my…read moreopinion, a master of his craft. Unfortunately, the way his office is managed has made it impossible for me to continue as a patient. Last year, my appointments were canceled more than three times in a row. The final straw came when the office canceled my confirmed appointment while I was already in the elevator on my way up. Because of my longstanding relationship with Dr. Fienberg and my respect for his work, I eventually decided to give the practice another chance. Now, I have had three more appointments canceled this year alone (with a delay of up to three months in between the canceled appointments before their next opening), typically receiving the cancellation call the day before or even the day of the appointment. Patients arrange work, childcare, and other responsibilities around these appointments, yet there seems to be very little regard for the disruption caused by repeatedly canceling at the last minute. It is incredibly disappointing because Dr. Fienberg is an exceptional dentist, but even excellent dental care cannot make up for an office that consistently overbooks, cancels appointments, and does not respect its patients' time. If you need a practice you can depend on to honor scheduled appointments, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Best Dentist Experience Ever - Allison Avenue Dental in La Mesa is Truly Exceptional!…read more My entire family of 5 (me, my husband, and our three kids ranging from toddler to teenager) have been patients at Allison Avenue Dental for a while now, and I can honestly say it's the best dental practice we've ever been to. Everyone there is incredibly patient and thorough. They never rush you and they take the time to explain everything in detail - not just "you need this done," but the why, the benefits, and all your options. It feels like true education instead of a sales pitch, which makes you feel respected and in control of your own care. The front desk staff (shout-out to the wonderful lady who always greets us) is genuinely sweet and makes checking in a pleasure. The hygienists and assistants are gentle and kind, my middle daughter actually looks forward to her appointments because "they're so nice and sweet to me." That's huge when you have kids! My oldest is currently doing Invisalign here and the transformation in her smile is absolutely beautiful already - we couldn't be happier with the results and the way they've guided her through the whole process. Even our toddler, who used to be terrified and wouldn't open her mouth at previous dentists, is now getting comfortable and letting them do cleanings and check-ups without tears. That alone is worth five stars in my book! I've recommended Allison Avenue Dental to friends, and one just finished her treatment there, she texted me afterward saying she loves them too and wishes she'd switched sooner. If you're in La Mesa, Grossmont area, or anywhere in San Diego and looking for a family-friendly, caring, and highly professional dental office, do yourself a favor and go to Allison Avenue Dental. We feel so lucky to have found them!
