I've only had BeaverTails twice in my life and both occasions were incredible. This location in Niagara Falls is very tiny on a small street next to Burger King. There was no line when my boyfriend and I stopped by on a late night. The worker happily took our order and within minutes we had our warm Avalanche BeaverTail ready to be demolished. The dessert is amazing. The dough is perfectly fried with a great balance between the topping flavors and the dough. I will admit, the dessert is extremely sweet and sugary, but it hits all the right taste buds. If you are not a huge fan of sweets then I would recommend going for the simple cinnamon & sugar flavor. They have 4+ different "Vegan Option Available" items, where they basically exclude whatever might have dairy/egg in it (chocolate sauce), and serve it right up. It's hot and fresh, smells amazing, and tastes awesome. It reminds me of carnival food in a way, the fried bread probably, so it's a walking food (if you're careful). It can be messy, and is wild unhealthy, but it tastes incredible. I recommend both the Oreo one and the Pecan Pie one (if you like maple-pecan type pastries). We'd had Beaver Tails before. In a dream. Somewhere. We couldn't remember when, what, or where. But we knew they were good. And so, seeing them here, we bought some. There were four of us, and thinking two would be enough, I ordered three. Apple Cinnamon, Avalanche (toffee cheesecake), and Triple Trip (peanut butter chocolate). All three were delicious and generously topped. The Apple Cinnamon may have been the closest to disappointing, tasting like canned apple pie filling with some added cinnamon. But, the warm and fresh tail went a long way to excusing that failing. If I had a suggestion or complaint, it would be that the paper gets all gloopy and you look like a fool trying to lick it off. The box in the pictures - I don't know if you have to ask for it or what, would be a better distribution method (although, I suppose they would pass the added cost of that to the consumer...). read more

WAT? A form of fried dough previously unknown to me? I am so in love with these pastries! I am from the US and just had them over the weekend. It is like my favorite place I ever found on yelp. Not like it was the best food I ever ate, but, like, it's unlike any other pastry I have had, and really, how many completely different forms of fried pastry can there be??? These say they are made of whole wheat... to me they are like the child of a donut and an elephant ear. Insanely good! and messy. with a big heaping of Canada tax. We got one with the nutella and the next day one with the maple. I was like "can I have one with nutella and crack?" "Oh we put crack in all of them" That convo didn't really happen but it might as well have! I can't go, I live in Cleveland. But go have one for me. *just a recap... interesting pastry if you are in the mood. add a coffee for 1$ if you're cold. *oh and if you're 'Merican and use credit card you gotta have your chip card... but your company probably sent you a new card and it will be fine.
