My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Beaverhead River RV Park in one of the monthly spots for a full year. We had an amazing experience, where every day felt like a family camping trip. Being right on the Beaverhead River we were able to witness all of the seasons, from the many birds and flowers in bloom to the autumn leaves dropping to the ground. This park is truly beautiful- I took photos almost every day! The sparkling, heated pool opened each summer after the last frost, and children and laughter filled the "old school" play area. The laundry room is ideal with 4 washers and 4 dryers, 2 of which are oversized. There's a convenience store that has Knick knacks and souvenirs, snacks, ice cream and emergency camping and RV parts. There's also propane, firewood and ice available for purchase (we didn't have to use those amenities, but they're conveniently offered!) We also have two dogs that enjoyed the large Pet Run daily. The park is close to town and other outdoor activities, and fishing in the river is ideal. Lastly, the owners Pam and Bob are amazing. They work hard to keep the park running, and maintained. We couldn't have asked for a better RV park to stay at for this past year. Do yourself a favor and check them out, you won't be disappointed, they have something for everyone.

This place is still being confused with the KOA that it use to be. While the owner is extremely nice and helpful, this place needs a lot of work. It seems like they are understaffed. The grounds needs a lot of maintenance, there was garbage in the childrens playground, broken swings in the playground, weeds everywhere. Our site was almost complete dirt. Not that owners could control the mosquitos, but dear god they were out of control. The pool needs some maintenance, it completely out of balance. The next day the pool was green. Also the amount of stuff that was floating in it, pretty sure algae growing. The main road in front of the park traffic is horrible, so anytime a truck drives down it you can hear them rumbling by. It seems as the noise it constant. So if your a light sleeper it will definitely get annoying. Instead of hanging out at the park like we usually do our family went else where during the day. This place has the bones to be a really great park, but needs some major work to get there. If your already booked here and need somewhere to take your kids go to: Ghost Town- Bannack State Park super cool, not the best entertainment for really little kids but they can manage. Jaycee Park- amazing place also has a splash park. Butte- there is and awesome water park for super cheap. $20 for two adults and two kids. Ridge Waters Water Park.

Very gracious and easy to talk to, Miss Ernie has a clue about what it takes to manage a campground. We stayed here twice, heading north to Glacier and back down. The pull thrus are spacious with full hook ups. For my Petite, Red Headed Passion Flower and I, evening sunsets were a celebration us in this beautiful part of Dillon. While 2 or 3 miles from town, this is a good base for exploring locally or if you just wanna spend the night. Far enough from the interstate so that traffic noise is not an issue but very easy to get to. (look for the flashing beacon!). We set up camp here for several days and rode our motorcycle all over. We used the laundry facilities which were very tidy and we used the showers once which were also very clean. Wifi was some of the best we had on our one month trip. This appealed to my inner geek although wifi is not really a big deal while we are camping. All in all, highly recommend this property and be sure to pester Miss Ernie about anything Apple!

There are two very clean, gated pet areas, a clubhouse with pool table and a full kitchen as well as two bathrooms. Campsites have fire ring , full hook up and a picnic table. We will be back!

While checking in to the Rambling Moose RV Park, I could immediately tell that this was a very nice RV park... As a matter of fact, it was a nicest park I stayed in between Oregon and Virginia city! Everything appeared brand new and Kim, the owner, pointed out all of the many amenities that they offered.... including her quilted art artwork! Beautiful! I must've looked pretty sick because Kim, out of the kindness of her soul, refused to allow me to sleep on the ground in the cold that evening. She gave me a camping cabin at no additional cost! Next the next morning, I still felt very ill and was unable to ride my bike. I asked her if she could help me find someone who could take me and my gear from Virginia City to West Yellowstone, which was my destination for that day. Kim, and her husband Greg, without blinking an eye, offered to help me! Kim drove me the 85 miles from Virginia City to West Yellowstone so I could get a hotel room while I recovered from this debilitating stomach issue, People like Kim and Greg of the Rambling Moose RV park are the kind of people that care about their guests and make sure that their guests are comfortable and happy with their experience. Wonderful Folks!!!!!!!

Since it is just 2 of us, we thought it best to leave 2 beds available for a family that might need it. We emailed them to switch us to the single queen bed. They were very quick in their response. No issues or problems, we were switched. As we pulled in, my first impression was how immaculate and pristine the property looked. The lines between the gravel and grass were clean and straight. The grass was well manicured and green. The gravel was thick and pretty. There was nothing but beauty to see. These people care about their property. There are shaded tent-spots steps away from a covered picnic table and a real bathroom (a bathroom with lights, soap, hot water, a flushing toilet and an outlet to charge your phone). Next to the office are free hot showers, real bathrooms, coin-laundry facilities and a sink to wash dishes. Everything was spotless during our 48 hour stay. We stayed in a cabin. There was a small covered porch with 2 plastic resin chairs and a small plastic resin side-table. Next to the cabin is a picnic table and a grill for briquettes when there is no fire ban. Inside, there is a very comfortable, memory foam queen bed that is wrapped in a protective cover. The bed frame is made of logs and is beautiful. Bring your own linens and pillows. We travel with sleeping bags and pillows. There was a lamp, heater, fan, 2 screened windows, a side table, a small square dining table and 2 chairs. The floor is a washable surface (vinyl fake wood?). Because every surface was washable, it was very clean upon our arrival. All cabins have electricity. Check-in was a breeze. The owner was a delight. We talked for several minutes. My most important message to convey to anyone deciding to stay here is this: Safety, trust and piece of mind. They have a strict rule regarding dogs off leash. During our 48 hour stay, we witnessed one dog off leash for a minute. This was quickly addressed and not seen again. I appreciated this very, very much. When you enter the campground, it is clearly posted that only registered guests can continue or you must check-in the office. As we arrived, the owner immediately stepped outside and was greeting us. To me, this means they are very aware of who is in camp. Half the time, we did not lock our cabin. Additionally, they have ice for sale for $2.75. They could gouge the consumer and charge much more. Instead, I feel, they are decent people. Thank you for a wonderful 2 days at your property.

Great Alternative to the State Park…read more This is a small, well-kept campground just off the highway, about 15 minutes from Lewis & Clark Caverns. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful. We had a tent site in the back, and all sites are conveniently close to the bathrooms, which were extremely clean and recently updated. A nice bonus--there's free use of a washer and dryer, plus stream access. The highway is nearby, so there is some road noise, but it didn't bother us. We were initially disappointed that we couldn't get into the state park, but this ended up being an even better option. On-site, there's a food truck serving amazing BBQ, live music, a small bar, a general store, and even a gas station. Everything you need is right there. Would definitely stay here again!

The owner( I think he never fully introduced himself and had been on one of the 2 lawnmowers) helped me get the glass cleaned up and triied to call for repairs, but after that, radio silence. He still hasn't answered my text 8 hours later. He said he didn't cut through site #2 on his mower ( I was in site #1), but later that evening, I saw the tractor mower cut through site #2. The least he could do was offer to refund the night's fees. Cute general store, and they serve ice cream, but no integrity as a business owner.
