A very short walking bridge, right in the campground takes you to "Dog Island "where dogs can be off the leash. It's a huge area and has larger pools for swimming in the river. Great fishing, swimming and kayaking on the river. We would definitely return here. There is really nothing within about 30 miles of this campsite, but we enjoyed staying put and the beauty of the area.

Very gracious and easy to talk to, Miss Ernie has a clue about what it takes to manage a campground. We stayed here twice, heading north to Glacier and back down. The pull thrus are spacious with full hook ups. For my Petite, Red Headed Passion Flower and I, evening sunsets were a celebration us in this beautiful part of Dillon. While 2 or 3 miles from town, this is a good base for exploring locally or if you just wanna spend the night. Far enough from the interstate so that traffic noise is not an issue but very easy to get to. (look for the flashing beacon!). We set up camp here for several days and rode our motorcycle all over. We used the laundry facilities which were very tidy and we used the showers once which were also very clean. Wifi was some of the best we had on our one month trip. This appealed to my inner geek although wifi is not really a big deal while we are camping. All in all, highly recommend this property and be sure to pester Miss Ernie about anything Apple!

We pull through the campground around the office, probably hitting a whopping 7mph. My wife and I walk to the front desk to ask about a site. The first thing out of the lady's mouth is "SIR, slow it down in my campground"! At this point I'm almost shocked at the unprofessionalism and rudeness! There was no "welcome to the KOA, would you care to slow it down?". Nothing, just plain rude. Needless stay I told her we were no longer interested in staying and left.

However, we got off to a rocky start with our group of four campers when we checked in. We had booked four beautiful spots in the back row in "January" and even paid the $10 lock fee. We had hoped to spend the last two nights as a group enjoying the beauty. This was the last stop of our crews 12 day camping trip. As we checked in, we were told by the young lady at the counter that we had been separated. Since I had made the reservations, I stepped up to question the girl as to why we were moved. At this time, Dan (owner) stepped up and got a little snotty with us and said that he moved us and we don't need to harass his employee. He explained that two of our group was moved due to a pipeline crew staying longer bc their job wasn't complete. His attitude didn't get any better and he gave us back out $10 lock fees. I understand his reasoning for moving us, but we should have been advised prior to arriving and we could have went somewhere else if we chose to do so. But what good is a lock fee if it doesn't really work. Dan did come by later and made peace with us which was appreciated. His attitude seemed to change for the better. Overall we had a good time but only wished we could have been together as booked. Having group dinners was a little more of a challenge, but we made it work.

Put his stinky fingers in my face and called the police and animal control on us. The police came while I was packing up and looked bewildered as to why they were there. I said I was asked to leave and I am but a 15 minute pack up is unrealistic. We left and now I am seeing this is a pattern of his. Beware of this place. Don't plan on ANY fun while you're there. No rugs, no awnings, and beware of the grass!! Just go somewhere else really.

He seemed friendly, but asked a ton of personal questions. That was a red flag, but it was getting late, and I'd already paid to park that evening. Being asked if a black person had relatives out in Montana was laughable because he knew that wasn't the case. I was not appreciative of someone who hit the side of my RV door late at night and left damage as if they were trying to break in/scare me into leaving not even knowing there were multiple loaded firearms inside of the locked RV. I'm not really sure who hit my door, but I paid the fee to park that evening, and left the next morning. It seems like a space to go if you are looking for a long term parking space. It was cheap. I definitely wouldn't return. People who travel, always be aware of your surroundings even if people come off welcoming because that just may not be the case. Allow at least one person to have your location and keep something on you for protection at all times. That situation could have ended horribly for the person who felt it was appropriate to play with me that evening.
