March 3, 2021 Contacted stylist and she stated she had availability for me and for me to come by. I found her while I wasted an hour waiting on another stylist at another salon only for that unprofessional stylist to not even show up for appointment. I explained this as well to this salon owner. She asked me to call her when I arrived because due to Covid I would need to wait outside. I said no problem. She said she would call when she was ready for me and that it wouldn't be to long of a wait. An hour later no response from her. I called her twice and got no response or call back. I work in the service industry and I TIP BIG. The fact that you had me drive 20 minutes to you only to have me wait an hour in my car only for you not to call me or even answer my calls when I called you is beyond unprofessional and inconsiderate. Karma comes around full circle and how you treat NEW CUSTOMERS who tip $80+ without a weave, sew in or braids or wig speaks to your character. Due to the fact you were willing to see me I went to atm and took out $100 just for your tip to show my appreciation and gratitude but DAMN you truly are an evil and inconsiderate person. RESPONSE TO STYLIST REPLY: I would've never wasted my time in driving to your location HAD YOU told me you had another client at 2:30pm. I got to your location between 12:15/12:30pm. When we originally spoke you stated you had a client going under the dryer and that you would be able to take me but I might have to wait, " a short wait, it won't be that long" call when I arrive. So I drove to your location. Called upon arrival. Sat outside of salon for almost a whole hour before I ever got a call from you. If you OVERBOOKED yourself you could've clearly communicated that from the gate but your didn't. A short wait is not an hour wait. So please don't play with my intelligence when it comes to business. I am also a business owner and I would never, ever treat a customer the way you treated me. PERIOD. All you simply had to do was communicate. You knew I was outside for an hour. At the end of the day I found an amazing, professional stylist with stellar time management, communication and customer service. So thank you again for wasting my time. NO NEED TO RESPOND. read more

I had an appointment with Chanel at 9am that I booked through Styleseat. Before my appointment they reached out to me to let me know my options of payment, and I let them know which one id be choosing. Fast forward to the day of my appointment, I locate the building that the salon is located in but the door is locked. I contact the same number that had texted me the day before to ask how'd I be able to get inside, this is at 9:01AM. No response back, i wait for 10 minutes still no response so i call 3 times, the phone says the number has been taken out of service. As im confused how the number is out of service but i just got texted from this number the previous day, I check styleseat to at least get my deposit back and I find that my appointment was cancelled without any explanation or update. I was not aware it was cancelled and i never got a response once. This is unacceptable and unprofessional and I do not recommend. read more

I was really looking forward to my appointment with Shanika. I booked a week in advanced and even called early the day of my appointment to confirm my appointment time. When I got there, to my surprise it was a complete hole in the wall. The washing bowl was shared by 3 stylist and looked pretty dingy. I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to stick my head in there...but anyway I'm writing this review due to her lack of professionalism. When I arrived at 4pm, she told me she would just be a few minutes finishing up with the client in the chair. But it clearly looked like she had just started. 30 minutes go by and no one has said anything to me. Or has touched my hair. And her clients head doesn't even look half way done and she's getting braids. Shanika clearly over booked and was going to have me waiting for an hour plus. That's disrespectful and a complete waste of time. I was preparing for a wedding & had other things I could have been doing with that time. Shanika is an amazing stylist who is very professional yet super personable and kind. I came a bit early so she was working on someone else's hair but I did not wait very long before she did my hair. She also was so easy to talk the time went by so fast. She took her time to detangle my hair until smooth which is so important to me because my hair tangles up easily (4c hair texture). She trimmed my ends as requested and blow dried and flat ironed my hair while using heat protectant and light oil for the scalp. The result was beautiful bouncy hair with minimal product to prevent my hair from being weighed down. So I'm saying that, I knew a silk press may be a long shot but I needed my ends clipped so I decided to give it a try. So this was my first time going to Shanika and she was extremely nice and walked me through everything she was going to do l, and the products she used. My silk press came out very nice. However it didn't last very long, it only lasted two days. I contacted Shanika the day the style came out and she was quick in responding and rectifying the issue. She is very professional and you can sense how passionate she is about her job. She's down to earth and easy to talk to. Customer service is KEY and she definitely cares about her clients. I got a silk press and it took about 3 hours, as she alternated between me and another customer. I hadn't straightened it since my big chop 2 years prior and I was a little nervous but she made me feel super comfortable and I was very happy with the results. My silk press came out wonderful and I got a ton of compliments at the event I went to after. I was able to maintain it for 3 weeks, though I probably shouldn't have lol and my curls are now back and looking as healthy as before. Where do I begin??? So many great things..... I sent Shanika a message just inquiring about prices and appt availability (I pretty woke up and decided I wanted to get my hair done at the last minute). I read a couple of other reviews and looked at pics of her work. I was interested. Luckily she was able to squeeze my appt in before closing. When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm welcome and some friendly conversation as she was finishing another clients hair. Then once she finished the clients hair, she proceeded to shampoo and condition my hair while explaining everything she was using. She also checked to make sure I wasn't allergic to any of the ingredients. While washing my hair, she asked me some history about what I've been using on my hair and recommended some great products to use. The whole time i was getting my hair done we had an amazing conversation. It literally was like just spending time at a friends house while she does your hair. I was so comfortable from the R&B music playing to the general conversations we were having. It didn't take long at all for her to finish my hair and it looks absolutely amazing! Shanika stayed late and booked me for an early appointment the following day to adjust the color. I needed a same day appointment (very last minute) and she was able to accommodate me. I love how when I showed up to my appointment 10 mins early she was wrapping up with another gentleman and at my appointment time she was only doing my hair. That is golden to me!! She didn't double book my appointment. She is a very kind and sweet girl, her service was also competitively priced.
