They didn't offer threading yet (my preferred service) so I went in for a wax, the girl took her time to explain things, review everything and have me approve of the shape and she filled them in with powder after which was nice. They said they'll be offering threading in a few weeks and I will definitely be back to try that out. I already have my return wax and tint booked.

And not only did she say that, but she delivered! 20 minutes later, I sat in her chair and got my face all cleaned up... Jillian was super sweet and did an excellent job doing some maintenance on my brows and cleaning up my lip. I'd go so far as saying she is meticulous in a good way. She even has this wonderful soft hand pillow that she uses so that her hand is not constantly rubbing up against your face as she works. I'd never experienced that before and I loved it. I left TBS feeling like a new woman! If I lived in Calgary, I'd likely be a loyal customer of TBS / Jillian. She must be doing something right as she's been working there for almost 10 years! I highly recommend paying Jililan a visit if you're in need of any facial hair removal. I sat for about an hour with her pushing quite hard on my eyes trying to get the lash lift pad to stick (for roughly 15 minutes per eye). At one point she got perm solution in one of my eyes but I was worried to mention it because I felt that it would have been worst had she tried to fix it since she had no idea what was going on. It's quite negligent to have someone not fully trained working with peoples eyes. I left with my lashes FULL of glue and my eyelids stuck open from glue. The best part? Absolutely no change in the curl of my lashes (picture attached) I guess you get what you pay for! Save your money, and pay the little extra at a real spa!!!!!

The threading job was done well, I like the shape of my brows but I asked for my eyebrows to be the color of my roots. I am extremely fair skinned and blonde with dirty blonde roots. The store itself has a lot of eye-catching cosmetics in it. It's basically a mini version of Sephora. They've got cosmetics, bath products and little trinkets galore. The brow studio is located right through the store. Jane was the brow expert working on both myself and my Mom. She is most definitely an expert when it comes to brows. She knows her business like no one else. The only thing I found a little irritating was that she kept saying to me "I don't know where you got the idea that thin brows are in. You need to start watching television and looking through magazines". Considering I am a television producer, I found that condescending. She said it a number of times too, once would have most definitely been enough. She also went on to assume that I don't work yet because she said "Once you start working, you'll definitely want to start filling in your eye brows for a more polished look". Yikes...we're definitely not off to a good start. Overall, I can't argue the fact that the experts at The Brow Studio are true gurus of 'eyebrow art'. If you'd like to know if I'd go back however, outlook not so good. The assumptions, the ignorance and the demeaning comments put me off for good.
