When it was my turn, the consultant put one wig on my head and then looked for others, handed them to me to try on and then looked for more wigs, which I had to put on as well. We were given wigs that were not in the color requested, told to imagine what it would look like and then if we thought we would like it to leave a deposit that could only be used for store credit if we did not like the color when it came in. Since we did not purchase a wig, we were charged $55 per person for consultation. Be aware! Ask questions before you go. For 2 senior citizens to spend $55 each to "play dress-up" as it was put, turned out to be an expensive afternoon. We were told we could come back next month and see what they had gotten in. Sorry. No more expensive "dress-up" for me. I can order a wig online and send it back for a full refund and do not have to drive an hour and a half one-way to check it out.

I found A Special Place online and used their contact page to make an appointment with Jessica. When I arrived, I was escorted to a private fitting room and was greeted by Jessica. She took my measurements, and brought out several wigs based on my preferences. I must have tried on 20 different wigs, and narrowed down to four finalists. Jessica kept switching them for me until I decided on the winner. I plan to visit again soon to purchase the runner-up and to get some styling done on a few wigs. They have a great selection in stock, and are CD friendly. This is indeed a special place. The staff made me feel welcome, and are very professional. And now I have the best fitting and most comfortable wig that I've ever owned. Oh, and the look is dynamite too!

I have been going to the same barber for 25 years. I love Christian and will continue to go to him,…read morebut I recently decided to break out of my box, and based on a recommendation by my friends, Ron and Victoria, I made an appointment to get a haircut at Avanti Salon and Spa with their owner, Gary. Avanti is located in the shopping center right off of the New Garden Road exit off Bryan Boulevard, 15 minutes from downtown Greensboro with plenty of parking right by the salon. As soon as I walked in I was taken aback in a wonderful way of how big the place was. It was bustling with hair stylists and customers and technicians getting and giving all kinds of treatments. It gave off a great vibe. I had the pleasure of getting my haircut and styled by Gary, and had the opportunity to also meet his wife Rebecca who is intrinsic to the success of Avanti. Both of them are warm and charming and welcoming and talented! It was wonderful to get an old-fashioned haircut with lots of care and a pair of scissors by someone as experienced as Gary. I loved my haircut and I have been back several times since, alternating between Avanti and Christian. Gary does it all. He washes your hair, he offers you a conditioner afterwards, takes great care and pride in the haircut and is a wonderful conversationalist. I always feel like a million bucks when I go in there. As appreciative as I am of the wonderful haircut, my visit to Avanti would not be complete without spending some time with Rebecca, Gary's, wife and co-owner of the business. I love visiting with her in the office and we always have lots to talk about. Great lady! Avanti offers lots of other services and I intend to check them out at some point. They have lots of repeat business because it seemed like everybody knew everybody. A great sign! As you can tell by this review, I am enchanted with Avanti and so impressed with Gary and Rebecca, owners of this wonderful establishment. What a duo!! Male or female, I cannot recommend this place enough. As long as there is still some hair on my head, I will be visiting Avanti and taking advantage of this fantastic salon and the TLC I get from its owners!
