I got up, got my two toddlers up, my wife and I took time off of work to go from Greece to the location in Penfield. We got there 5 minutes before they opened at 9am so we sat on the benches in the hallway. At 9:40am, we were still sitting on those benches. Trying to entertain or girls and wondering why no one was even there. We called and emailed but did not get a response until we were almost home at almost 10am. We were told that there must be a problem with the booking system and to call or stop by at 11am after they got done with a meeting and they can figure something out. Not..."I'm sorry let me get down there now." Nevermind that the "system" sent me an email confirming my appointment for 9am. Even if there was an error with the system and they weren't notified that I booked an appointment...they advertise that they are open at 9am and accept walk-ins! So no one was going to be there until 11?? Then why say you are open at 9am!??!?! I am so disappointed in this experience. Even more so because this is the only place (that I know of) in Rochester that does cryotherapy. I guess I will be waiting for someone else to offer this service because obviously this establishment cannot be trusted to show up for a booked appointment OR to be open when they advertise they will be open.

The $29 covers an examination, a brief (but in depth) massage chair session and some minor adjustments. Actual adjustments, aka cracking your back like a glowstick is $35. I was not expecting to spend more than $29 at my first visit so I was a little off-put, and that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Their program, on the other hand, seems very reasonable, $99 a month for at least 6 months (with early termination fees if applicable) for 4 sessions a month, or $35 for any adjustment. They do not take insurance but keep their prices competitive and low. They use a lot of technology at this practice, including laser and cryotherapy. Might be your thing, might not be. Doctor seemed plenty knowledgeable and I was even sent home with a sheet displaying various stretching exercises.

I would give them a five star review. However, today I canceled my membership and spoke with friends and family to do the same. I spoke with a woman I have the grace not to name here whose rigidity was only matched by her rudeness. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and had to freeze my membership due to treatments. I was told that was fine and that I could do so for the foreseeable future--which I appreciated, because cancer is really freaking expensive. Today, I was charged, despite being told that I could continue to freeze the membership. Honestly, frustrating as that was, I would have just let it go if she were not so rude and cold. ZERO empathy...did not care at all that this was a special situation. In fact, I am surprised that there is not already a protocol in place at a wellness business for people to be able to have some flexibility when there is injury or chronic illness. Or if someone could have told me what the rule was. Today the woman I spoke with at Restore made it loud and clear that (at least her) priority is financial. I was saddened, because I am working so hard to regain my health, and that is what Restore is supposed to be about---recovering, healing. And to expect customers in active treatment to know what the corporate rules are and follow them or be charged, is ridiculous and cruel. The price is great at just $60 for your first two sessions, $45 per session after that, and they have deals on packages. Upon walking in, the place is super clean and well decorated. You have to take your shoes off before entering the actual spa. Once you're all checked in, they hand you a bag with: socks, sweatpants, and sweatshirt that are your size. You then go into the bathroom and change into the outfit with nothing on underneath. They asked us ahead of time what we wanted to watch on Netflix. They put you on a bed that has a cocoon-ish heated, weighted blanket. They Velcro you in and put headphones on you. They explain that you can un-Velcro at any time to stick a hand out or whatever if you get too warm. They also put a call button in your hand in case you need assistance. They check up on you at 30 mins and bring a cold washcloth for your head at 45 mins. The 1 hour goes by, then they take you out and lead you to a small, quiet room where you can cool down with some eucalyptus water. As you can see from my pic, my drip session was successful. I felt like all my water weight was gone (and you have to drink a lot of water the day you go!) and I felt relaxed. I had to stick my hand out for the last 10 minutes of the drip because it was so hot, but still tolerable. I didn't cool down for a solid hour after the session! Cool and different experience. I will be back!

I mean it's basically losing water weight because you do sweat. You go in and they give you a set of their sweat pants and shirt to change into (no underwear) but everything was clean and comfortable. Then you get wrapped up like a burrito and put into a heated bed. They give you headphones and you can pick a Netflix show. The room we were in had curtains as we wanted to be together. So you could see the light from other TVS. Also, there were clearly heard sounds of people talking in the hallway. I will say I fell asleep a few times and my muscles did feel relaxed afterwards. My wife lasted about 40 minutes instead of 60 and I think I lasted 50 minutes. As you do get really hot. We might return for our 2nd session in the winter as you get 2 sessions with the intro package. But I don't see this as something we'd do in the summer! Definitely give it a try!
