The space is gorgeous and clean, everything looks and smells amazing and the waiting room was absolutely lovely. The treatment room was also beautiful and the chair was super comfortable. We started with a quick consult where I shared some areas I'd like to treat, then Julie had me make a bunch of expressions to see exactly what and where I would need treatment for. She ended up coming up with a complete plan for me, consisting of different types of injections for different zones depending on what my muscles were doing. I was SO impressed! She is a quick injector and knows exactly what she's doing. I told her I was feeling light headed and she had all the tools I needed to settle my nervous system. As a Black woman, I was subjected to treatment that exemplifies the medical disparities POC face daily in healthcare settings. On my first visit to discuss the removal of skin tags and to have PA Lehr examine my ruptured cyst, his behavior immediately made me uncomfortable. He greeted me with an exaggerated, stereotypical handshake that felt forced and inappropriate--something I guarantee he doesn't do with his white patients in Edmonds. During this visit, he prescribed a powerful antibiotic for my ruptured cyst without mentioning it needed to be taken with food. This potentially dangerous oversight was only caught by my pharmacist, not the doctor who prescribed it. When I returned for my second visit to have the skin tags removed, PA Lehr greeted me with the same uncomfortable handshake. When I asked if the procedure would hurt, his dismissive response that "it's not going to hurt him" was both condescending and unprofessional. I had to specifically ask about aftercare instructions myself--information that should be provided automatically. For my third visit to address the now-calmed cyst, PA Lehr once again greeted me with the same inappropriate handshake. I couldn't help but think: would a 50-year-old white woman, man or non-binary person be treated this way? Absolutely not. During the procedure, he provided minimal explanation and zero aftercare guidance. Only the support staff stepped in to give me the proper information I needed. The support staff was competent, but they can't compensate for a doctor who treats patients differently based on how they look. This is medical racism, plain and simple--not jokes, not lightheartedness, but the exact kind of differential treatment that research consistently shows undermines care for communities of color. I'm giving two stars solely because: 1) The procedures were technically completed and 2) The support staff provided information the PA should have given. I will never return to this practice and strongly advise against it for anyone--ESPECIALLY people of color who deserve healthcare providers who see and respect them as human beings deserving equal care and dignity.

My husband underwent an outpatient cyst removal procedure with Dr. Song on May 19, 2026. We were told the procedure went as planned and were given standard aftercare instructions, including avoiding showers and exercise for 24 hours and applying Vaseline afterward. The following day, less than 24 hours after the procedure, my husband began bleeding heavily through layers of gauze, bandages, and eventually his clothing. We contacted Frontier Dermatology and were instructed to have him lie down and apply pressure. We followed those instructions exactly, but the bleeding continued and worsened. When we called the after-hours physician, we repeatedly sought guidance about whether we should go to the ER. Despite explaining the situation in detail, we were unable to get a clear answer. We were told we would "probably end up at the ER" but were also told that no one could definitively recommend that course of action without seeing him. We first went to urgent care, where the physician was uncomfortable treating the wounds because of their depth and complexity. After attempts to stop the bleeding failed, we were sent directly to the emergency room. At the ER, the physician treated the wounds with silver nitrate to stop the bleeding after hours of unsuccessful attempts elsewhere. We did not return home until approximately 1:00 a.m. The next day, I filed a formal complaint with Frontier Dermatology regarding both the procedure and the lack of adequate after-hours support. During that conversation, I learned my husband had no follow-up appointment scheduled for two months. Shortly afterward, Dr. Song personally called my husband and defended the treatment decisions that had been made. Because we were concerned by everything that had happened, my husband sought a second opinion from another dermatologist. That dermatologist informed him that the wounds were infected and required antibiotics and additional treatment. We were also told that corrective care would now be necessary to reduce the likelihood of significant scarring. During follow-up communication, we learned that no pathology report had been performed on the tissue removed during the procedure. What should have been a routine outpatient procedure resulted in severe bleeding, an urgent care visit, an ER visit, an infection, additional medical treatment, missed time, stress, and ongoing concerns about long-term scarring. We understand that complications can happen in medicine. What troubled us most was the combination of the outcome itself, the difficulty obtaining clear guidance when things went wrong, and the need to seek care elsewhere to address the resulting complications. I hope sharing our experience helps other patients ask questions, seek second opinions when necessary, and make informed decisions about their care.
