I was recently in the Dublin 9/Beaumont area and I didn't want to walk far to enjoy my breakfast. I walked for 5 minutes and walked through the doors of this place to eat a good breakfast. I had a big Irish breakfast and I came again the next day to enjoy the pancakes. Both were good but the big Irish breakfast was so damn good. I went in to Beaumont House for a late breakfast after an appointment at the hospital. The building is really lovely inside and out, which is what impressed me at first and drew me in. It's clean and extremely spacious. The Christmas decorations are pretty phenomenal for a pub! I wasn't really welcomed when I came in and it was a bit confusing whether I should seat myself or not, but once I found a table and sat down, I was well looked after. Had a simple fry-up and coffee but it was nicely done and fairly quick. The place started to fill up for the carvery as I finished and it looked like they have quite a loyal following. I'd be interested to stop in again for lunch or dinner, though (as others have said) I did find it on the expensive side. read more

The Beaumont house pub. Well... For starters it's pricey especially for the area and what you get. The carvery is nice but there's better for less value. Staff could be friendlier too! Always seem short and a smile goes a long way! Visited here again before Christmas.. My opinions haven't changed.. I got the steak. Not a bad price but not great either at 17e I asked for medium it was well-done. I asked for pepper sauce-got gravy. Chips were suppose to be homemade they were frozen. The chef had gone home apparently so nothing could be changed or done. Great. Anyway steak cut was OK. It would have actually been nice if cooked right. I was almost deterred from staying here based on the reviews but found the place and the staff nothing but charming. When I arrived hot and exhausted after 17 hours of travel they let me check in early and carried my bags upstairs. There's a great kitchen and washer/dryer for travelers. Bed is comfortable and the room was clean. They even called me a taxi to get me to the train station on time! I had dinner and wonderful porridge at the restaurant. I would definitely recommend people stay here and if I ever return to Ireland would stay here again! read more

The Beaumont House occupies pride of place on the corner of the Beaumont Road just before the hospital, from which it gets most of its daytime trade. Cheapskates take note: it operates a traditional Irish split pricing policy, i.e. drinks are cheaper in the bar than in the lounge. The bar tends to be taken over by the telly screens and live soccer most evenings, where as the lounge by contrast is much more sedate. The aroma of cabbage hangs in the air as the pub clearly pays its bills from lunch/dinner sales, though it could be argued that their drinks are that bit dearer than other pubs They have a very bizarre smoking area in the rear - somewhere between an IKEA showroom and a back alley. read more

We went there Since they have put very attractive decorations for Christmas especially for the kids with polar bears band and a Santa human size but The manager came a couple of Times to our table ordering the kids to keep quite but in a manner that Made us feel ashemed and mortified to have kids... We were very upset so we left without eating and when I went to talk to this "man" about the kids and that they were a 2 and a 3 years old kids he nearly throw us out ... To make a long story short, I found this place by accident from missing a bus stop. I was thirsty so I did what any competent dehydrated person would do and ordered a pint of Guinness to cure my parched throat. A tasty pint that was. The interior is really nice for a pub, but that doesn't give them any justification for being so pricey with their food and drink. read more

Nice looking pub with average carvery food which is very expensive. Staff that work there are pleasant, especially the floor staff. The exception to this is the owner/manager who works behind the bar. He was extremely rude to my children and myself after I had paid for lunch for six of us. Don't ever bring children in there as he has a huge dislike to them and is not afraid to tell them what he thinks of them, even well behaved ones. I live close by but will be spending my money elsewhere. Never going back. I'll also make sure parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts etc don't set foot inside door again. Beautiful pub with great ambience and great selection of beers. The decor throughout is also very cool and has a bit of history. Wait staff are polite and very timely in service. Next door there is a off-license so that's also a plus. The carvery is also delicious. read more

I would give this hell hole 0 stars if possible. My parents go there whenever they're in Beaumont Hospital, but they'll never go back after my treatment. I brought my 2 kids while waiting for them and thought I'd treat myself to a Guinness because - spoiler alert - as parents we don't get many treats and rarely get out. No-one came near us, so I had to ask for a drink, then this grumpy old git came over and grabbed the glass from my table, saying so aggressively "we don't serve alcohol to people with kids"...er, sorry?! I said I'd never heard of such a policy and I was just waiting for someone before getting food, so he slammed it back down and said I could have it then. I was so shocked I questioned the policy again and said it shouldn't be an issue as a paying customer, so he grabbed it back up again and said "well you can't have it then" and stormed over to pour it down the sink!!! I was absolutely mortified and have never been treated so badly in ANY establishment. The clientele seem to be mostly senior, who gave me sympathetic looks as if they were used to him and a woman came out as I was bawling outside and said she was so sorry for me, but this kind of discrimination shouldn't be acceptable. We went to another restaurant nearby with some locals saying everyone from the area avoids the place because of him. Bullies shouldn't get away with it in this day and age. I've never written a review before, let alone ask for a boycott, but PLEASE avoid this nasty place, especially if you're a parent as he hates kids, and don't line this Scrooge's pockets anymore. read more

Visited today with my family and was disgusted there were no vegetarian options. When I asked if there were any I was told there was a quiche. The quiche was sitting in the salad area and was touching the meat products. The only veg options were mashed carrots, peas. Mashed potato and cauliflower which for some reason was cooked in a chicken broth sauce. To get one veg on the side was €4. Every sauce had either beef or chicken in it so I was stuck having just chips. My family are regulars and I have been there before so although disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options I was not surprised. As disgraceful as it is that there are no vegetarian options, I was mostly disheartened to find out the peppercorn sauce was made with beef stock. I had eaten this sauce on chips before and was assured it was vegetarian. The lack of care towards customers needs and lifestyle choice is disgraceful. I care a lot about my diet and living a vegetarian lifestyle and to be told something was vegetarian when it was not is so inappropriate and unacceptable.It does not take a lot of money or effort to make a good hot vegetarian option. A young boy rushed in as soon as we finished to take out plates as soon as we had finished and he dropped dirty cutlery on my nap and out loud shouted "oh sh*t!" and didn't give any apology at all. read more

Visited this place today 26 Aug 2015 to treat my Dublin-based family to lunch - 10 of us including my 87 year-old aunt and 3 children. Auntie is on a walker and couldn't make it up the steps to the area reserved for us. We re-located to the front and organised the furniture for the purposes - no intervention or offer of help from the staff. The owner arrived and was not happy that we wouldn't re-locate again to the rear raised area. When I explained that we were satisfied with what we had, he refused to serve us and basically threw us all out: auntie (87), walker, kids and all. The place does stink of cabbage as another reviewer pointed out, but that was it's only saving grace. read more
