The facial: 5/5 Relaxing, private, quiet and professional. Olivia was informative, gentle and not over chatty (all good in my book). Oh and there was a bed warmer... lovely! Foot massage (2/5) I'm basing this on deep foot massages I have had in the past. The deeper the better. I'd give their approach to a foot massage a 5 if you're just expecting light application of massive amounts of fragrant creams and ever so gentle, light rubbing in a pleasant setting. I sat beside a good friend and we chatted while she had a pedi and the staff allowed me to stay longer because her procedure was longer and the room wasn't needed. I felt that was kind. Where things went off the rails and why my review plummets was due to the communication I received from this place after my review. I had expressed 2 levels of disappointment with their foot massage . First is wasn't 'deep' despite the description of 'deep rhythmic massage' on their website and second because the esthetician maintained a very light pressure after I twice told her should could go much deeper. The 'deep, rhythmic massage' never happened. They sent me an email asking me to change the review, blaming my disappointment on my misinterpretation of 'deep rhythmic foot massage' and explaining that of course it meant was 'deeply relaxing'. They said a lot of other stuff, but the result is that I feel gaslit and feel they were trying to shame me for giving an honest review. They have now updated the website to eliminate the wording of 'deep rhythmic' from their foot massage description. I have a screenshot of that earlier version. So, I have in fact changed my review from a 3 to a one and would give them a zero for customer service if I could. No customer should be made to feel this way.

Initially I wanted to go to this spa for their salt room. However, I was not very impressed with…read morethe size of the room, and it lacked a peaceful setup. I ended up still getting a pedicure, where the lady ended up cutting my foot twice! One of the cuts lasted a whole week and made me very nervous about contracting something or risking infection. Thankfully, it did not. The lady was not friendly and obviously distracted during my pedicure since she ended up cutting me two times. The photo below indicates the worse of the cut, which made my foot tender and difficult to walk and perform sports in my active lifestyle. They were very accommodating after I asked for some sort of adjustment to my final bill, which they finally did agree to. I will not go back even though my daughter's haircut turned out great.

I had the best experience here on the weekend! My husband bought me the "Parental Escape" wellness…read morepackage for my birthday, which includes the 50-minute Exhalo scalp treatment that includes hand and arm treatment, a 45-minute relaxing Swedish massage, and one hour in the salt room. I arrived about 10 minutes early on Saturday morning, checked in, hung up my coat, and waited on the small bench. I didn't have to take off my boots, but I should have grabbed a paid of the sandals at the front, as there were none in the back. It's a much smaller space than I expected, with the "spa" part is at the back, hair on the right, and nails on the left. I only saw one small room for massages and spa treatments and another one across from it for the salt room. The front has all of the products and gifts, including a bunch of local brands, but it's also where people check in, pay, and wait, so it's very tight and makes it hard to look at the products, as well as social distance. I had Maureen for both my scalp treatment and my massage, and she was great! She asked me which one I wanted first. I wasn't sure and asked which one was more relaxing, and she said usually the scalp one gets her, so I did massage, salt room, then scalp. The massage was great and nice, harder pressure like I prefer. I asked what the difference was between the relaxing Swedish massage and the RMT massage and she said the RMT massage typically has more pressure and tries to get out knots. The RMT can also be claimed for insurance, while the relaxing massage cannot). Maureen was kind enough to ask if I wanted to do the front of my legs and other parts of my body instead of hands and arms because those were already included in the scalp treatment and this way we could maximize the massage. Really appreciated this suggestion! I wish I paid more attention to the package details because I thought it was an hour long instead of 45 minutes. It goes by quickly! The salt room is also much smaller than I expected, but I enjoyed the vibe of the room with the soft orange and blue hues. There are two anti-gravity chairs, but I was the only one booked in there for that time, so I could wear whatever clothing I liked. It was my first time and I was told comfy clothing is fine, but some people wear bikinis and swimwear because it's better to expose your problematic skin areas to the healing salt. I was also told to bring snacks, which I did but didn't end up eating, and instead I was allowed to just take off my mask for a little bit to breathe in the medical grade salt that gets pumped out. Again, I was the only one in there with the door shut, otherwise I absolutely would have kept it on. I also got a robe and a blanket, and had the option of turning the heat of the electric fireplace up or down. You could also get a massage in there, though I'm sure the protocol with the mask and fireplace is different. Maureen said she'd knock before coming in, but I only fell asleep for about 10 minutes (it's hard to relax!), but it was nice. I would have napped longer if I could. There's no clock in there, so it's a great way to unplug (minus the couple of photos I took at the beginning when I was getting settled). The only downside is that the room is right across from some of the hair stations, so I could hear the hair dryers and conversations over the relaxing music. The scalp treatment was like nothing I've ever had before. They massage warm essential oils onto your neck, shoulders, and scalp. They then wrap your hair in a heated towel while you get a hydration face mask and get more massage, plus your hands in wax with gloves on. Once they take the towel off, you get some cool drops (oils? serum?) massaged into your scalp. Some of the hot stuff, like the towel behind your neck and the wax, are really hot, so be prepared for that, especially if you're sensitive to heat, though the burning sensation goes away pretty quickly. You can definitely come out of this one a little woozy, so take a few minutes before sitting up and leaving to drive home. Maureen was such a pleasure and really took great care of this new mama. She was really understanding of all of my issues, like tense shoulders, lower back pain, postpartum hair loss, etc. I enjoyed it all so much that I ended up buying my husband a gift certificate for the same package! Just need to remember that the tip is not included. Hot tip: If you're looking for an actual parental escape, don't book on a Sunday, as it's family day at the spa.

Now I have had an awesome experience at this spa: a pedicure with hot wax, and I was very impressed - the massaging chair was like getting an extra back massage while the feet were getting done! I came away feeling very refreshed and relaxed; this was just what I needed! It's a rather large building with many different rooms. I did not see it all, but what I did see was nice and clean, and nicely laid out. It the waiting room waiting for the nail polish to dry, there was a beautiful large, vibrant fish tank. The whole atmosphere was relaxing. There were current magazines available, so you could catch up on current affairs while you are waiting. Midway through my pedicure, one of the receptionists came around offering cookies. That was a nice touch. This is not a cheap spa treatment, but definitely good place to go get pampered in preparation for a wedding, or other special event. Or, just because! This place will continue to be on my wish list as a recommendation for gift certificates. :-)

Once you get past all that, the spa is great simply because of the variety of services they offer. Any place that uses Dermalogica is on the right track. I only had a little bit of time to devote to a spa so I just went in for a facial. My therapist was seriously amazing. On top of being a great aesthetician, she was really professional yet fun to talk to. Usually I hate being quiet in spas (I know, I'm weird) and she was great about it. She let me start the conversations so that if I wanted to just be quiet and relax, I could have been. Very tactful! So despite the lacklustre decor and ambience, I will give it 5 stars just for the range of services and excellent therapists (from my visit anyway). In addition to be super sweet and kind, she is really skilled at what she does. She made getting through life that much easier. Lucy moved to Hands on Health a few years ago, and I really like vising this place. Their location is in Centrepointe, in what looks like a row of nice, new town homes, but is actually a group of small businesses. They're office is located in the downstairs portion of one of the town homes, and is stunningly decorated (they sued to have teh designers card there, but I can't remember her name!) to make you feel relaxed and calm. I've never visited any of the other practitioners, but I've spoken to a few of them and they're delightful. They really care about the clients (Lucy remembers things I told her years ago, and always asks about loved ones and goals I've mentioned) and client satisfaction is really important to them. After being diagnosed with a chronic pain condition a few years back, Lucy helped even more, with stretching techniques, relaxation tips and deep tissue massage. The staff also offers services like hot stone therapy, Reiki, pregnancy and infant massage, myofascial release and tons more. check them out if you're in pain, or just need to relax. If you're lucky enough to get in to see Lucy, you'll also gain a confidant and a lovely new friend.

We were then asked if we wanted any coffee or tea while we received our spa service. The coffee was good and nice to sip on to warm up. Melanie did my pedicure and Megan did my Mom's. There were plenty of nail polish colour options to choose from and we both chose festive Christmas colours. Overall, our pedicure experience was very relaxing and pleasant.
