Had an absolute blast testing my skills, solving challenges, and racing against the clock with my girls for a birthday celebration! The energy, the teamwork, and the suspense--10/10 experience! If you're looking for something fun, interactive, and competitive in Philly, this is a must-try! Whether you win or get blasted with paint/foam, you're guaranteed to have a great time.

Went back for the foam theme and it seemed the lasers were malfunctioning in my room. For my other teams they told me that is seemed like the ending game seem to have not been working properly. The staff knew to tell us about the free retro game machines this time and the process was really fluid. There was also a lighter crowd than the last time I was here.

Beat the bomb was a PE class for millennials... And we failed! To start, E.J. was amazing! He helped our large group of 9 people from start to finish. It was my best friend's birthday! He explained and assisted with a test game to show us what we would be doing in our Bay Area. When we had a technical issue, E.J came right over and helped us. He was the best! The games we played were physical but so fun. There was a mix of mind games, movement games and a ton of teamwork! When getting our drinks with our drink token, Nia was so sweet and the drinks were soooo good! I would without a doubt return for some more fun!

We had a blast for my 32nd birthday! EJ was a fantastic host and was very patient with my group. Nia was also a great bartender. My suggestion for anyone who does the Arcade Bay games, wear comfy shoes and clothes. If you wear a watch, turn it inward so you don't scratch it up while playing. Be Careful and be mindful when playing, the games can be aggressive (or my group was) lol 10/10 we will be back

So fun! Bought vip experience for sister, her husband, and my boyfriend for Christmas. Everything ran smooth. It was a fantastic experience. Good was good & very affordable. We are planning on going again and trying a different experience with slime to experience another one. I highly recommend!

This was such a fun experience! When I told the staff that it was my daughter's birthday they went above and beyond to make her feel special. Amanda the bartender made the most amazing strawberry lemon drops! Our hostess Dee was friendly and outgoing. She was very helpful throughout the process. All of the games were engaging and the paint bomb was amazing! I wish it was in a different location because parking was limited and the parking garage was expensive.

We had no clue when we were going to be signed cuz we didn't listen to the directions but that's what made it funny

Ask the Community - Beat The Bomb

Is this safe to do while pregnant?

I would say yes. She might get a little hotter then most and if you choose the slime option, she would need to be very careful at the end so she doesn't slip. Maybe go with the phone option but otherwise I don't see why there would be a problem and… Read more

We do a LOT of escape rooms. Like a lot. So on this road trip we decided to do as many locally…read morethemed rooms as possible. So after a day of seeing his grave and at the museum of the American Revolution we did this Ben Franklin themed room. And it was AWESOME. To be fair, I like a room that lets you wander around instead of forcing you down a path...and I like a room you get rewarded for looking at random things instead of having everything spelled out for you. I also like a room that has a lot of spaces that don't do anything. And this room had all of that. We ended up not needing any clues but got REALLY close to being stuck a few times. It just felt like a really good payoff for the puzzles in this room and a very cool story.

Team building activity! Good thing we escaped with about 5 minutes remaining, because I declared in…read morethe beginning that I would resign if we didn't make it out. Not that my boss would hold me to it, but I should refrain from my dramatic declarations. The Olde City Escape Games is located in an office building, but there was a sign that pointed us to the correct building. Once inside, look for them in the name of the tenants and ring it like a doorbell. That felt like step 1 of the test. Once inside we were all in their lobby and encouraged to use the restroom before we get started. Our game master was awesome. I blame the Sangria. I wish I remembered his name! He was super fun and engaging throughout the experience. This is an escape room so I don't want to give anything away so I'll try to stay high level. Since we were in Philadelphia we decided to do something historic themed. We did their "A Quest for Freedom" escape room where you explore Benjamin Franklin's study and operate his print shop on a mission to help the American Revolution. Each clue or item is used only once, so be sure to track what you have used or what you have not used, cause it would mean you still need to use it. My team and I had a blast and I definitely feel closer to them after successfully escaping together. We might have been sharper and solved the clue faster if we came here before dinner and drinks... Lessons Learned for next time.

I've been to a few places in the ballpark of this before (Activate, Level 99). This place has a good amount of rooms, and a good blend of purely physical, and purely mental, so enough to satisfy any range of talents in your group, and flexibly so across rooms. Even with a few other groups in the building, we only had to wait a handful of times, and it was on the order of seconds. I came last time right after opening in October, and this time, many of the games were very much replay-able and fun with a new group! Not sure about coming back more frequently though-- I imagine that I'd have to similarly come back with some time in between or with enough new people to keep it novel enough to be fun. Some games are malfunctioning due to some unruly guests going way too hard, but otherwise, the staff are super helpful and are willing to help out to get games up and running for you again, or to give you tips on games if you're struggling to get a 100 score. A fun evening for sure! You'll leave a bit tired!

There are physical skill challenges, mental challenges, problem solving challenges, math, logic, etc. We did the 90 minutes, at first it seemed like a long time for the kids (6&8) but as we really got into the challenges and rooms, the last hour flew by. We really had a good time and they are already talking about bringing friends back. Check them out!

Because of the interest of my friends mainly, I was curious to see the differences between Blind Tiger Speakeasy here and the one in OBX escape rooms. The setup and price here is much better. I don't remember all the nuances, but I know the modifications done with KOP are much better. The beginning puzzle, they let you solve it intuitively in parts rather than expect the entire combination to be correct. This helps with playability and the fun factor. They have wonderful employees that work here. Jaden was no exception! I did catch on to some clues faster because even though I didn't remember exactly what I did with my group at the OBX one, I did have a faint inkling. At the OBX one, we didn't solve it but had help from a guide in the room as I was only in a group of 3, the room there required a minimum of 4, and we had to pick rooms that could serve physical accommodations there. I'm still "waiting" for some escape room in the general area to do escape the 90s. The closest one from my area right now seems to be Rochester, which is too far. I do pass by that way once in awhile, but being only one person makes it tough. . .
