My dress turned out wonderful! The one strap was too large and kept falling off in my wedding/wedding photos. My main issues was 3 days before my fitting Bea called me really confused about what was supposed to happen. She had had my dress for nearly 2 months at that point. Considering my fitting was 1 week before my wedding this caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. Maybe Bea should get into the meat business because she absolutely butchered my pants. The stitching of the hem is inconsistent to the point where you can see it while I wear them. They say that you get what you pay for, but at almost $30 for two pairs, I expected a little better. read more

I went to get my dress altered for my ring day, Mind you, I haven't gotten alterations done in college station before so I of course had questions for the workers because I don't know their capabilities yet. The lady pinned my dress and then went to the back while I changed out of it. A man came up to the front, i'm assuming her husband, tells me its going to be $67 up front. I told him I thought that sounded kind of high so I wanted to call my mom to make sure I shouldn't just take it home where we always go. and then I started thinking how I did need a bit done to the dress and the dress is lined, nice material like i said. SO i decided ok i'll accept $67. so i tell him ok thats fine but I simply wanted to know "why" they request it all upfront (the alteration shop i've gone to my whole life in Houston has you pay half up front and half when you pick up) I asked, "What if something goes wrong?" and he straight up goes "I dont think we're going to alter this. You are asking to many questions. You need to go to Houston" word for word. and he took out the pins while saying that. and I was like "I personally have just never paid for a service all up front" and he goes "well we've done this for however many years and always had people pay up front and if something goes wrong we just fix it for free" so i said "that is literally all you had to say" and he goes "so do you still want to do it?" AFTER HE HAD ALREADY TAKEN OUT ALL OF THE PINS. so i said "no im not trying it on again" and i left it's literally my dress and my money ???????????? my concerns should be taken care of respectively I have never experienced such unprofessional rude customer service in college station. idk how or why these people are still around in our community. read more

I have taken a total of 4 dresses to Bea's to be altered. Until this last time, I would have recommended them to anyone and everyone. I had never had any problems with deadline, customer service or quality of work. To add to that, I was not just taking in dresses to be hemmed. I was doing major alterations to each of the dresses. Hem + taking in at the waist + reworking difficult boning or beading + handling small trains. Each of the my first three dresses I was extremely happy with the outcome. However, that being said, this past time was almost pure awfulness. First when I took my dress to be pinned and first looked at, I put on the dress and then was left standing around for a good 15 minutes waiting for Bea to be done with someone she was working with. She was somewhat short with me which I didn't understand because I was being more than patient as I didn't have any time constraints. Then when it was my turn, she began working on pinning my sides when a bunch of people came in at once. There was no one else that was in the front to help any of these people so she was constantly stopping my consultation to help them. Then she asked me if I would mind waiting for her to take care of these three separate guys that came in because there jobs were much "easier". Again I didn't have anything to rush off to so I just kinda went with it. After I was done it was time to pay. The usual cost for all 4 of my dresses have been $60-70 because of several different things being done. So that wasn't a shock to me but plan on dropping some cash. My biggest complaint came when I went to pick it up though. First, I gave them 2 weeks which is an extra week over their "turn-around time". They had me down for a noon appointment on a Saturday and stressed to me that they closed at 4pm on Saturdays, and were closed on Sundays and Mondays. **Note I do live out of town so that is why I gave them an extra week and had a pickup appointment on a Saturday. When I went to pick up the dress at noon, I got there gave her my information and she looked like she had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't see my garment hanging so I figured it was in the back. Then she went back to check and we overheard one of the guys say he had just started working on it!!!!!! After 2 weeks it hadn't even been worked on! Wow... so she said to give them a little more time. So we went shopping around which wasn't too awful haha. I got a call at 3:30 that was my dress was ready. Needless to say I hurried over there. Heard no apologies for the delay and with that was my last time I will ever go to Bea's. I would recommend looking around before deciding on which place to go. read more

Bea is very good at what she does, but don't expect sugar, spice, or sprinkles on top of her no-nonsense work ethic. I brought in a dress I bought online with no lining, and alterations totaled to $66 with tax. We took in the sleeves, and drew in the waist a bit at the top. She explained the prices to me, but I felt rushed and like some of what she was doing to the dress was glazed over. She did pay careful attention to how she pinned, and to what I really wanted from the fitting. She gave me a couple options to choose from to have it fit my body the way I liked. She's very down to business and quick to get you in and out of the door. My dress was altered well, and the man handling the front desk when I came to pick up my garment was amazingly cheerful and kind. Bea came out to make sure my dress fit well, and I will say you get clean work for your money. read more

My college age daughter had a recent horrible experience at Bea's and if I could, I would give them 0 stars. Despite my daughter bringing/wearing her heels during a gown pinning, they ended up hemming the dress way shorter than pinned (too short) and then adding extra charges for it to be "fixed." Which it wasn't, due to limited material. My daughter said they were really rude during the process, and when I suggested she speak to the manager/owner, she said she had but that the lady just "shrugged" her off. She bought her dress and paid for her "alterations" on her own, and I find the abysmal customer service and attitude at Bea's to be reprehensible and unacceptable. read more

I give them Zero star not even a one!! They ruined my fiancé's tuxedo 3 days before the wedding and they did not even care! They told us they are going to take everything back right before the wedding when we had no time to go and buy another one!! And they charge higher than other alteration!!! If I could give Bea a negative star rating I would. She blamed me for my clothes not fitting when I came to pick them up (everything was waaaaay too tight), and charged me to re-alter them. One item is still too tight, but wearable, another was completely ruined, another doesn't seem to have had anything done to it despite paying a lot for it, and the final item (a $300 dress) she altered in a way that I specifically asked her not to and it looks terrible. She's extremely high priced, and she and her husband are both rude to say the least, and eager to take advantage of college students. read more

Expensive. Bad alterations due to inattentive service. Terrible return policy. Over $50 to have the inseam taken in on 3 pairs of slacks, counting an expediting fee to get them back in less than a week. That's expensive. But I hoped it would be worth it from a quality standpoint. When I got my slacks back, all three were altered to different lengths. Only one was correct. The second pair was too short and the third pair can only be described as high waters. Probably has to do with the fact that the lady taking my measurements was on the phone ordering bra pads and other supplies the ENTIRE time I was in the store. When I picked up my slacks, the gentleman who checked me out told me about their seven-day return policy. The only problem was I was going out of town for an extended business trip with no way to bring them back during the seven days. I explained this to him- he said they were open for another 30 minutes- I live an hour away. Basically no alternative was offered. I'll get my slacks re-altered correctly somewhere else. I took in pants that needed waist and leg alterations. They did the waist and called me to come pick up. When I picked up I knew the legs had not been done but the head lady was out. I went back a couple days later and explained the situation. They had kept my ticket and remembered me by name. They admited their mistake and made my leg alterations that day. Not only that but they hand delivered my pants to my work for me. I would use again. read more

Take your cloths ANYWHERE else. My mom lives in Bryan. She took her mother-of-the-bride dress in for alterations. Since I needed my dress done, my mom asked if they could take my wedding dress. They told her yes. I make the 3 hour trip down from Dallas just to be turned away and told they would have never said they'd accept my dress. I understand everyone is busy with prom, so I would have been happy to at least hear her apologize for the confusion. Nope. What a waist of time. Luckily, Mr. Juan Lopez at EDT Tailor in College Station was more than accommodating. Not only could he get my dress alterations done in ONE WEEK, but his prices were reasonable. I got the bodice taken in, the hem taken up, and a bustle for the train of my dress all for $100. He was friendly and had great customer service unlike Bea. At Bea's you pay up front. At EDT, you pay AFTER you're services have been completed. You're probably wondering about my moms experience. Also terrible. They promised her dress back by the 6th of May. She went in to day May 3rd to check on it's status. The dress is been there since April 16th, and it STILL hasn't been touched. She paid up front for services, so when she asked for the dress and a refund, she was told she could take the dress, but there would be no refund. She better make her deadline and have an amazing final product, or Bea will be getting another 1 star review. Not that she'd care. She obviously doesn't care about her business, because since her customer service is the worst I've ever experienced from a business owner. read more

My mother and I were verbally and physically attacked in his store. The guy is PSYCHO! I bought my wedding dress from Bea's bridal and then had Bea do the alterations on it. The dress need almost 10 inches taken off the bottom and I had pads added to the top. I've always taken my clothes to be altered by Bea. I've even taken a dress that another shop said was un-alterable. Bea got it done and on a quick timeline. Everything I've had altered has been completed on time or earlier, and I've never had to take anything back for second alterations. I called to schedule an appointment, and was told to come in anytime, no appointment needed. I went in to get measurements to order my wedding dress on a Saturday morning. Bea was incredibly rude and inappropriate. She called out my measurements in front of the entire store while we were in a dressing room. She rushed through the measurements...did everything halfa**, then told me that I needed to come back with a regular bra on, not a sports bra. It would've been nice if they had told me that when I called in advance! I would not recommend this business to anyone, and I will not be going back! read more

I called Bea's alterations ahead of time to check on pricing for my bridesmaid dress alterations. I needed the bust taken in a little bit on the sides and the hem brought up half an inch max. Over the phone, the male store owner said that it would be around $45 total. I was happy with that statement so I came in to get it altered. First of all, I had a sports bra on when I tried on the dress, I know my bra size and I knew exactly what I was going to wear with the dress- No difference in the sports bra or strapless bra. "Be a" and her husband continued to tell me that the alteration wouldn't work and essentially tried to force me into going and getting my strapless bra- I refused. I had her pin the bust to my liking and it felt perfect. In all, she spent about 5 minutes altering the dress, not long at all. After I took the dress off and took it to the counter, they told me my total. $101.. REALLY? I could have altered the dress myself, needless to say I was livid. That wasn't a wedding dress, it was a simple bridesmaid dress that cost me $140 to purchase. Its now worth $240 because of stupid alterations. I left, angry, but kept my reaction calm. I went to pick up the dress a week later, and it would not zip. The alterations had been so severely messed up, I couldn't even zip the dress. I was in a panic. My friend was with me to help me zip it, it was 3 inches from zipping. I could not breathe. I expressed my concern to Bea, and she proceeded to tell me how the dress not fitting was my fault. NO. It was not my fault. At all. She then proceeded to tell me how her seamstress has never messed up an alteration. This didn't change the fact that the dress didn't fit. As a customer, I don't appreciate being told that the alteration not fitting was my fault. I didn't sew the dress and when we initially did the markings, it fit perfectly. She did not want to take the blame and continued to blame me for her mess up. The husband even got in on it and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and Bea was right. I took the bra off to hopefully allow more space- nothing. Her husband then told me that "The dress can be tighter without a bra". No sir, thats not possible. But thanks for trying to make me look like a fool while you ended up making yourself look like one. I will never recommend anyone to this over-priced unprofessional business. Seriously, go anywhere else- drive to houston, dallas, San antonio... New york. Anywhere. read more
