We stopped in for a beer and to check the place out. The ambiance is very nice, the service was on top of everything and since we only snacked on fries they were pretty good. All in all it was a nice time, recommended and we'd go back for dinner. A very nice first visit.

Three stars for poor service. 4.5 stars for the food. The burger was good, the trout dip a little salty but good, the beer very good. The service was slow, forgetful, slow, and non-existent. And, they forget one of the 3 orders. How the hell do you forget 33% of what you wrote down on your little pad?!?? How. Wait I know, don't smoke the lords lettuce between tables. Your pin prick pupils gave you away. Juss sayn... This is not rocket surgery folks. This Maggie valley in the winter, give service and be happy people are here having fun. Half this town is closed for the season. I'm trying.

Great food awesome beers. Very nice scenery. The river running along the brewery it nice. One thing they need to look at is i saw two different couple sit at the table and got up and left before no one greeted them. They need to have at least one employee welcoming people and tell them how things work or a large sign up front explaining things. It hurt my heart watching them walk out the door thinking service sucks here. I love this place

Stopped on Sat afternoon on Labor Day weekend to have a beer. Seemed to be short staffed as there was a long line to get a beer and it took quite awhile to get served. I ordered the Haywood Haze and it was okay. However it seemed pretty pricey at $8.50. Great patio outside by the creek.

The restaurant / Brewery you would expect in Maggie Valley. Indoor and outdoor seating on the deck overlooking the river. Nothing fancy here but everything is spotless. Get a beer and a hamburger, or fresh Rainbow Trout from the river. Awesome staff, very helpful for first time guests. No complaints at all on anything. The food was cooked perfect and the price was right.

Beautiful place on a river. Clean. My husband went thru front door. My cousin and I went in back to porch because we had dog. Waitress said you need to go in front door. I said nicely my husband is in there. I explained we came in back because we had dog. There was a large party in front of my husband being seated so took a few minutes to get out on porch. Waitress again not so friendly says you need to go in front. I said I have dog Waiting for my husband. Shortly after my husband came out we were seated by a friendly young man. The Waitress that was not so nice was our waitress acted friendly. Ordered appetizer. Artichoke dip. Didn't come out had to cancel. Meal came out for my cousin and husband steak subs very good. They finished eating. My flatbread pork with cheese balsamic vinegar did not come out. My husband went inside x 2 to inquire. Waitress said we have several kitchens wasn't that nice apparently this causes confusion. 35 minutes after they got food and ate i finally got mine. It was good but would of liked to eat with my family. They did comp flatbread keep money serve near same time as other food. Waitress took order gave us small pitcher tea Didn't come back or check on us till husband went inside x2 to ask where my food was. Noticed by reviews I'm not the only one this happened to. Sad beautiful spot and good food.

Just wow! Our party of 5 came in for afternoon apps and drinks and this place did not disappoint. Really nice indoor seating (open area) and the outdoor seating overlooks the creek. Laid back vibe and extremely clean. Super friendly and helpful staff. We ordered beer flights (all of them were delicious ... the aged barrel tripel literally tastes like whiskey!). We ordered a cheese flatbread and the fields flatbread - they were absolutely delicious!!! Prices are great too. We will definitely be back next time we come to Maggie Valley. BearWaters is absolutely worth checking out!

I'm a 50 year old man and I've had pot roast my whole life. Tonight I had it at this restaurant and it was the best pot roast I've ever had.

This brewery has the best atmosphere around the area. I loved watching the creek while enjoying the beer.

This is my second time here. Menu varies throughout the year and always very interesting items. My…read moreonly complaint is the serving sizes. For example, I love the meatball over polenta appetizer but there is such a small amount of polenta. And for the price, it would be nice to be have a little more pasta served with the entrees. I've never gotten a doggie bag here because the portions are small and after spending over $100 for 2, it would be nice to have a little bit of leftovers. That said, food is delicious and obviously all homemade. Cocktail selection is very unique, hip and good. Service is excellent and the servers really know their stuff! Service

We also tried the mussels, mushroom fettuccine and a rabbit dish that I'm totally forgetting the name of. The rabbit dish was amazing but it had too much salt. The mushroom fettuccine on the other hand was lacking something, it didn't have that umami flavor to it. However, both were really good selections and you could tell that the pasta was handmade. As for the mussels they were good, but I probably wouldn't order them again. Our server was wonderful and the inside of Ilda is super cute! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends, but I think you need to make a reservation in advance. Also - give yourself some time to find parking ahead of time - they don't have a designated lot.

We came here while visiting Waynesville, NC. We had reservations for 7:30 PM on Saturday, 11/01. We…read morearrived a bit early but were seated right around our reservation time. They have an impressive variety of drinks -- their drink menu is actually a full binder, with each page in a sheet protector. For our appetizer, we ordered the Chef's Table Signature Goat Cheese Risotto Balls -- absolutely amazing! The flavor was spot-on, and the portion was generous (three pieces, each just a bit smaller than a tennis ball). For entrées, my boyfriend ordered the Veal Schnitzel -- two tender pieces with a flavorful sauce that really tied the dish together. I had the Prime Delmonico Ribeye (12 oz) cooked medium-rare, and it was perfect: tender, juicy, and not too fatty. I asked to substitute the potatoes and vegetables with pasta, and they were happy to accommodate. We finished with the strawberry gelato, which was light, refreshing, and came with three scoops for $8 -- a great way to end the meal. Our server, Shane, was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. He checked in regularly without being intrusive and made the experience even better. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality and portion sizes. Ambiance: Cozy and intimate, so reservations are definitely recommended. Since the restaurant is small and fills up quickly, it can get a little loud when it is packed. There's limited space to wait inside, so I'd suggest adding a patio heater for guests waiting outdoors -- especially on cooler nights. Once inside, the temperature is comfortable and well controlled. We parked in the nearby public lot and took a short walk over. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. We're giving this place a solid 5 stars and will definitely be back the next time we're in Waynesville!

I rarely feel compelled to leave a review, but after reading the mixed reviews first and then…read moredining here last night, I just have to explain my experience. For starters, I had a reservation at 7:30pm and stood inside this tiny restaurant for over 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my presence. We were only a party of two and were seated 30 minutes late without an apology. The waiter was proficient, but rushed the entire time and seemed to be constantly running back and forth. The bread we were served (after the appetizers had already come out) was stale and rock hard. It was indedible and never should have made it's way to a table. The risotto balls were good, but the romaine salad was wilted and soggy, and I couldn't take more than two bites. The entrees were good, but nothing special compared to a true fine dining experience (I've had several and this wasn't even close). I can appreciate the concept behind the restaurant, but perhaps limit the menu options.and hire a hostess. I just had an exquisite dinner at a nice restaurant in Atlanta last week and it was over $200. Guess what? The cost of this dinner with tip was almost as much, but in comparison, the service was a joke and the food was subpar. I was not impressed and I won't return. If anyone thinks this restaurant is special, that tells me a lot about how many great places they have never eaten at before. Spend your money elsewhere and for the attitude here, the food better be phenomenal and it definitely was not.
