Cute find in a small town near the north entrance of Yellowstone. Very few food options so this cozy spot was packed. The hosts were very friendly and hardworking. Food was a simple and yummy find across from our motel. My burger was charred just right, the bun wad very dry; the side salad was deliciously crisp. My hubby enjoyed a juicy steak with mashed taters and veggies. This is a must stop when passing through this quaint town. Tip-be aware, no cell service anywhere in this town and WiFi is hard to find. This was a shock to us, never heard of such a thing!!!

Gotta love off the route dining joints you least expected to dine at when traveling. Yet this place happened to find us. A very eclectic joint and savory foods we enjoyed. So let me back track things, we we're scooping out our day journey through Yellowstone's Lamar Valley and I noticed Cooke, MT was a short distance from the end of the valley. After some research I saw it would be an excellent place for a respite & lunch. After some YELP scouting I located this quirky place and said hey we're gonna dine here. Our food was tasty & delicious, however it's very eclectic local decor a site you must see. Lots of bikers and fellow park travelers all gathering for a meal and all looking very satisfied like I was. Now one note and very other odd thing I saw with Franks own eyes was that is some of there local customers were armed. Armed with guns if you can believe that but I tried not to freak out. This kind lady looking very much like she transported in time from the 80's took our order and served us. She was very charming and very hospitable. We ordered a hotdog with grilled onions and a French Dip sandwich. Excellent work by the chef on his culinary skills they were amazing items. Now no French fries in the place so don't ask, just potato chips. A Huckleberry soda was a great finishing touch to help wash it all down. Should Frank B ever find himself in the area I'd be back, but until then I say EAT AT THIS JOINT, you'll love it like we did. Frank B out from COOKE, MT!!!!

Great family owned restaurant with good burgers! Wish it came with fries, but it comes with potato chips instead.

The hummus and veg lasagna are a perfect blend of flavors and textures, highlighting fresh ingredients and skillful preparation. The salmon plate is beautifully cooked, with tender fish. The teriyaki chicken bowl is a savory delight, balancing sweet and savory flavors perfectly. The food was fresh, came with salad and Sautee vegetables. Also this was the only place open till 9pm on the 4th of july, serving food. Staff were very welcoming and service was great. dining here was a truly enjoyable experience, Ambiance is very cozy and welcoming

The grilled cheese is good. The bison steak was really good. The nachos supreme was not.

Nice place. Food is decent but I'm pretty sure the hostess was 8 years old! It was pretty funny.

I ordered nachos. The chips were stale. If you're headed towards Red Lodge, you might want to get a snack here and dinner there.

The cook was thanked for the amazing food and he thanked us back. Said without us he wouldn't have a job. Very gracious!!! The steak was perfect. The BEANS out of this world!! Next level delicious!! Let's start with the positive: They're generous here. They have a good assortment of non alcoholic beverages and you can help yourself to seconds with the food after everyone's had firsts. The wagon ride was pretty cool, our driver and host were entertaining, and we were allowed to visit with the horses for a bit too. So what's my beef? THE BEEF! The steak was very inconsistent and mine was awful...twice! I asked for medium and it was well done....twice. Dry and tough and half of it was straight up fat. My friend, on her second round, got a steak that was so marbled it looked like A5 wagyu! She was so full by then she couldn't finish. Her son wouldn't let it go to waste and took one for the team and gobbled it up. I looked on enviously the entire time. Most of sides and dessert were meh. The one exception was the Roosevelt beans that were the BOMB! I don't even like beans, but these were fantastic. Many in our party also commented favorably on them. Nice they gave us the recipe! At almost $75/pp for adult, this is a pricy! If you do this, go for the experience and not the food! Food: 1.5/5 Excursion: 3/5 _____________ * OK, so that might not be a lie. It might be the best food in Yellowstone, but that's only because the other food options suck too! We sampled many throughout the park on our first trip years ago and brought most of our food in this time because we knew we weren't missing out on anything.

My wife and I mistakenly drove 45 minutes or so in the wrong direction , left the park thinking we would loop back to yellowstone lake and back down to the Grand Tetons.... turned into a happy accident because we had a great breakfast at the log cabin cafe. Very small menu but everything is scratch made with love. The thick cut house made hash browns are the best ever, the waitress said they soak the potatoes in a brine and you can taste the love!!. My wife ordered the french toast and it was excellent! This tiny little spot is literally a log cabin and has some nice taxidermy and all the country charm you could ask for. Location is incredible, surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. If you are visiting lamar valley to check out the Bison , do yourself a favor and get lost like we did and go to silver gate for breakfast or lunch!! Our server was a very sweet young lady who was very pleasant. Loved your restaurant , Thank you !!
