After a long day in Yellowstone park we spend a night in Cooke City. The restaurant was in front of our hotel and we go there without reading any comment on the web. The staff was really friendly and the steak was the best during this holiday trip in States. The also have more than 100 beers from all over the world...so go there and enjoy it! read more

Due to a fire jumping the road, we had to use the NE exit to leave Yellowstone. We were starving and decided to stop in Cooke City for something to eat. Choosing Beartooth for its cute outside ambiance, we were thrilled to find out that the food was delicious, the wine was good, and their selection of beer was quite impressive! I really loved their vegetarian lasagna, and need to try to get the recipe from them! If you find yourself in or near Cooke City, this is a definite dinnertime stop! read more

After fleeing tourist sodden Red Lodge without breakfast and driving the Beartooth Highway we were ready to nosh supreme. Ordered a huckleberry soda but got a huckleberry beer by mistake. Fuggit! Had me a beer! Went nicely with a bison burger and chips. read more

had artichoke spanish dipping (portion is very large) , huckleberry soda (supposed to be famous drink from Montana but it's by a New Jersey company?) and soup. had a long wiat. food is ok, no complaint and service is good. read more

We stopped in Cooke City on our last day in Yellowstone. At the recommendation of the guys in the fly shop, we went over to Beartooth fir a late lunch/early dinner. We were so mad at ourselves fir not coming earlier! The ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD we had during our 8 days in/around Yellowstone! We sat outside on the deck enjoying the sites & sounds. Our waitress was so sweet & very awesome! We had the soup du jour, Albonigas (Mexican Meatball)...my oh my...if I could brougt it home with me on the plane, I would have ordered a gallon of it! The flavor was just amazing. Me & 1 don each had the dinner salad w/steak-simply delicious! My husband had a burger that he proclaimed was the best burger he's ever had! My other son had sirloin steak which was cooked as he wished & was great. We will DEFINITELY be back & will recommend this to anyone going in the general direction. Do yourself a favor & go eat there...more than once & GET THE ALBONDIGAS SOUP IF THEY HAVE IT!!! read more

Good food, friendly service. Quite an array of Western beers-- mostly bottled, but a few on tap. Try the Moose Drool-- a tangy light brown ale. I really enjoyed the trout dinner and the rum poppyseed cake was delicious! It's a casual place, but a nice stop if you're in town. read more

Ok for a roadhouse burger. 123 varieties of beer was cool, as was the western decor. Not much going on in this town, so this one serves it's purpose. Service was great and they were busy. read more

My husband and I found this place in June 2014 while trying to search for vegan/vegetarian options while we stayed outside of Yellowstone one night. This place had some options and an impressive selection of beers. We were served right away (this was not peak tourist season quite yet - I imagine the wait could be longer then!). The place is quaint and rugged-like, something I'd expect in a western mountain town. The staff were pleasant and the servings were beautiful and pretty large. The hummus/pita/veggie appetizer was delicious. The prices seemed competitive and reasonable given the small town and tourist draw. It will be great to go back someday! read more

We went to the bear tooth cafe and were not disappointed !! The place was packed with people at 4pm when we arrived in Cooke city so we got all organized at our hotel and went shopping in town and finally got in at 6:30 pm . The place is cozy and very cute !! You can sit inside or outside and there was barely any seat available !! We order our food and it was fabulous !! We had a very short wait for the service from our friendly waitress despite the fact that it was extremely busy !! I would strongly recommend this cafe if you want a great meal !! read more

I ate lunch here with my family of 5 on our way into Yellowstone after coming over the Beartooth Highway. The food was excellent, really satisfied us, and the service was fast and friendly. We came here because Cafe Cooke was closed, but we were glad we did, as we liked everything about this place, including the outside seating on a beautiful day. read more

For the last 15 years I've been going to Yellowstone and staying in a cabin outside silvergate Montana I wouldn't miss eating dinner at the Bear Tooth. The steamed artichokes are awesome and so is the smoked trout best in the area. Good quality food and good service read more

A nice piece of Western life. This is a comfotable restaurant known for it's beers. The food was great (I highly recommend the Lasagna) and it was reasonably priced (typical tourist prices, so a little above average). Overall, though, it was a nice break from the over-priced garbage food places we had eaten at earlier in the trip. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way back to Yellowstone from Cody WY. The service was great. Buffalo burger, smoked trout, and the nacho's were awesome. They also have a huge beer selection for the beer lover in your group. Many not often found anywhere else. A must if you ever pass though this town. read more

I don't think it's cutesy when you order something that ends up being HUGE and no one warns you. Especially when you're traveling and can't take it to-go. So, be warned about the "nachettes." Guacamole, salsa, and jalapeños weren't fresh, but that's about what I'd expect in the middle of nowhere. Probably the best you're going to do in this area. We stopped here on our way out of Yellowstone. We were so hungry for juicy cheeseburgers, but were not impressed. They were dry, flavorless patties served with potato chips. Service wasn't great either. The cafe itself was very cute and had tons of great local beers. Maybe we came on an off day. We will try it again, hopefully it will be better next time. read more

We went to Beartooth Cafe on a Monday night the patio and dining area where almost full. My husband had the funk burger and I had the quesadillas the food was very good very fast even though they were very busy. I was very impressed with the wait staff knowledgeable and fast everyone was hustling from the hostess to the waitress to the cashier. The beer and wine selections were phenomenal. We will eat here the whole time we are in the area. read more

I have had dinner here, many times and it's always consistently great! This is the place I take all of my out-of-town guests to and they all had the same positive feelings. Since I also work nearby, my favorite lunch is by far their Greek Gyro. It is just as good as the gyros, I used to get from a Greek bar in Nevada. The sad news is, they are only open in the summer season, so once winter arrives, I go through some serious withdraws. read more

We visit Yellowstone every year(~ 20) to fly fish and stay in Cooke City. After years of trying out different restaurants, we now eat EVERY night at the Beartooth. We sit outside and almost always end up in great conversation with other dinners enjoying their meals. The food is best in town. read more

Ate at the Beartooth Cafe in July 2017 as part of an overnight on Brushbuck Tours trip thru Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Overall our experience was really good. The service was friendly and has a nice patio deck to eat outside. They have something like 130 different beers - which was awesome. For dinner we started the grilled artichoke which was pretty good. My wife had the Teriyaki Chicken which she liked and I had the trout which was awesome (highly recommended). While Cooke City is small - there are a number of restaurants to try - would definitely recommend Beartooth Cafe! read more

Stopped here on a side trip out of Yellowstone after reading fairly good reviews. Charming little out of the way place. The four of us ordered different dinners, soups and salads and all were good. Price is very reasonable for one of the few restaurants within miles. I agree that the Moose Drool beer is well worth the try. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. We stay in Cooke City every year when we tour YNP. And we always eat supper at Beartooth Cafe. The atmosphere may be mildly chaotic but the bacon wrapped ribeye more than compensates for it. We also recommend the trout, sirloin, and salmon. read more

We've been going to the Beartooth Cafe for decades! The service is topnotch and the food excellent.

We went in with a party of ten for dinner. Got two orders of the nachettes and hummus for appetizers. Nachettes were pretty good but huge so make sure you're hungry. Hummus was also good. Vegetarian lasagna was delicious as was the salmon with dill sauce. Steak was like rubber and couldn't be chewed so you may want to stay away from that. Cost ended up being about $25.00 per person. Waitress was horrible. We asked for silverware and were brought a handful of knives and forks. Ended up not being enough so had to ask again. Ordered a beer but had to remind the waitress a couple of times before we got it. Ordered a second beer later during the meal and had to remind the waitress three times to get it. Waitress could have cared less about what kind of service she gave. Normally wouldn't be a big deal but with the large party, the tip was included so waitress got 18% when she probably deserved about 10%. read more
