Nice little Ice Cream spot over in Washington Township…read more Listen, there are NO shortage of options for ice cream in this area. One could argue that the ice cream market is positively saturated in Gloucester County. I can name, off the top of my head, at least 6 different ice cream spots within a 5 mile radius, and that's not counting chains like Ritas, or places that ALSO SERVE ice cream, like a Friendly's. There is just razor thin margins in the ice cream game here. That said, Spilt Milk is at least a solid contender in the Ice Cream Wars. The owner was a very pleasant man that chatted us up while we ate. They have a TON of flavors, and threw samples out like beads at Mardi Gras. They make their waffles right in front of you to order, and build the desserts in plain sight, with very organized ingredients. The building resides in a strip mall, and is small but spacious enough, and has good parking. Although due to a sign that was facing the WALL and not the clients, I didn't see that they have CREPES, I AM excited to try that the next time I'm passing through. They are good, but not good enough for me to drive past 6 other ice cream spots on my way over there, but if they are in your neck of the woods, definitely give them a try.

There's something fun to look at everywhere! Everything from the funky animal stools to the train that runs around the top of the shop. Their favorite part has to be the small diorama set up - they love the little carnival scenes and they spot something new everytime. In addition to the great ice cream and awesome atmosphere, the owner of The Ice Cream Parlour is part of the experience. He clearly loves his shop and interacting with his customers. He even has a prize wheel and prizes for all the kids that come in. There's lots of indoor and outdoor seating and ample parking.

First visit, so I'd like to come a few more times before I really lean into a rating, but for my…read moreone and only visit, it was definitely a 4 star affair. A little old, a little chaotic, The Ice Cream Parlour has a bit of a carnival vibe upon entering. There are tchotchkes galore in here. Toys, novelties, a plaster monkey hanging from the ceiling, lion, elephant, zebra and panda chairs, a prize wheel, etc, etc, etc. All run by an EXTREMELY personable man that chatted us up the entire time we were there...ALMOST to a detriment. They seem to cater to kids, which is awesome, as ice cream is squarely in every child's wheelhouse. Childrens size ice cream COMES with rainbow or chocolate sprinkles, and a free spin on the prize wheel. Speaking of the prize wheel, my daughter offered up her favorite number, 3, ("I love Harper three!") and won a small stuffy when her number hit! It was a cheap little stuffed animal, but it was really cool to have her win something, and it's CERTAINLY not something that Mr. Ice Cream Parlour has to offer. It's a great perk for your price of admission. Inside seating was spacious enough, and there were a few seats outside, but the owner told us that it can get so busy in there that you can't move, so maybe take it to go. I see no reason we wouldn't be back.
