My daughter did a good job on her choirs today so I wanted to get her a treat. Decided to stop here because it was local and I've heard mostly good things. I was also just happy to have a place that was open. She got an orange soft serve and overall it's about what I expected until I notice a note on the soft serve sign "sugar free 80¢ extra". What was this? It's virtually impossible to find a place that serves sugar free and if they do it's 1-2 flavors. I asked about it basically expecting it to be a lie but yea that have sugar free vanilla which works with their soft serve machine. Apparently their machine that does sugar free is limited to only 24 flavors as opposed to the full 32 flavor selection but that's at least 20 more than I expected. So after stopping by just for a simple treat for my kid I'm thrilled to have discovered a local place I can get a full selection of sugar free too! Writing this while enjoying a sugar free banana soft serve. read more

Got suckered into coming here again, solely on the premise that it's the closest ice cream to me. Next time I'm putting my foot down and vetoing that argument. Scoopys just isn't it. They famously have a sign that says they have "over 40 flavors of soft serve!" Me, not being an industry expert on ice cream dispensation, found that claim dubious. How the hell do you have FORTY different soft serve machines?! (I have since studied up on the topic and know that it comes down to a flavor injection process to a base flavor, but I'm telling you all this for a reason....) Despite my reservations, I decided to throw caution to the wind and asked for their "cheesecake" flavor. Yall, it was VANILLA. Straight up, 100% vanilla. Periodt. No cheesecake flavor syrup was dispensed into my base flavor. I got VANILLA. Thank you, have a nice day. So, maybe don't trust their lying ass words. Listen, its ice cream; it can only be so bad. But there are SO many ice cream options around here, that you do not have to settle for vanilla when you wanted cheesecake. AND have to pay cash for it. I'm NOT coming back here. read more

Cute spot as long as you're very good at dealing with nuts traffic and a tight crowded parking lot. The only truly local ice cream spot in the neighborhood so bonus points there. Grading on a curve. read more

Love the variety of foods. Had the pnut butter sundae, very good. We get water ice and ice cream quiet frequently. Love all the flavors of water ice and hard ice cream. The custard, we only have the usual, vanilla and chocolate, but they are both very good. Definitely better than Mr. Softee. The women who work the window are always courteous. And the outside tables are always clean! Can't wait for Spring! read more

Cash only is VERY annoying and cheap in 2025. Came here because I had a coupon. Our order was soft serve salted caramel which was artificial tasting, I do not recommend the flavored soft serve. The other item was hard ice cream double chocolate fudge, that too was all chocolate and underwhelming. The service was fine, nothing great. Our portions were huge compared to others experience but the taste was not good enough to return. read more

Really good ice cream and usually friendly service, just a little overpriced, especially because the sizes will vary a lot depending on the day and server, so you might get less and still pay a lot. Cash only, really yummy though, hard and soft serve ice creams alike. read more

Shame shame on me .... I didn't notice that it was National Ice Cream Day. Well, actually shame shame shame on my Sunday morning newspapers because this should have been the headline of all headlines! If I had only known ... I would have been cruising around to revisit and discover places familiar and unusual whose raison d'etre is the sale of God's truly perfect food gift to humanity ... ice cream. As my evening was ending friends said 'want to come to 'Scoopy's?' Let's see ... Dave and ice cream with an invite too. This was something I couldn't say no to but my previous experience at this Woodbury purveyor of the cold creamy sugary mainstay was not the greatest. In the moment I was really wishing they had suggested another local spot but it was their treat and their suggestion. Parking is really tight at Scoopy's Too when it is busy and Jersey drivers are wont to step on the pedal when they see an open parking space so one needs to be very careful in this lot. Busy times mean longish lines because there are only two windows serving hungry ice cream dreamers at this CASH ONLY establishment. My eyes grew in stature as I saw the many choices ... an amazing array of soft serve ice cream options, which I knew meant that they were flavoring each person's choice rather than filling cups and cones with an already flavored soft ice cream. Their hard ice cream choices were many and if memory serves me correctly these options come from a well known Pennsylvania ice cream factory that also sells to grocery store chains. There is definitely nothing to indicate that what is in your Scoopy cup or cone was actually lovingly created in a Scoopy ice cream machine. But, the good news ... well first we over heard someone say it was National Ice Cream Day and I breathed a sigh of relief because my friend Jessica never would forgive me if I didn't eat ice cream on National Ice Cream Day although her store does create its own creamy awesome ice cream. The second bit of good news ... I decided to choose the soft serve Irish Cream option and cover it was hot fudge. I was the last to order, the only one choosing a topping, and the young lady said 'for National Ice Cream Day all toppings are FREE.' YES ... FREE HOT FUDGE ... now my friends were treating but still I just saved them a pretty penny, dime and combination of quarters. Good Stuff. In this stream of happy good news I need to pause to mention an oops moment that tugged this rating down. After some careful thinking my friend who was treating all of us decided that her cup of chocolate hard ice cream would be enhanced with the addition of some free topping. So, when hers was delivered she asked if they could add a FREE TOPPING ... nope. That was rather disappointing. However, to finish this ice cream report with a smile ... my IRISH CREAM covered in hot fudge was DELISH!! I was debating buying another but then I thought back on the time in the gym .... I passed. I also was offered a spoonful of my daughter's hard chocolate banana ice cream and that too was a winner. Now, I prefer rich and creamy ice cream (Just look into my freezer and see all the Sunset Ice Cream that I have stored there.) and this ice cream was leaned to the sweet side of life. But on a hot Sunday night ... on National Ice Cream Day ... a better choice could not have been made. And, it didn't cost me a single cent! Nice to have friends who treat you to ice cream!! CA CHING!!! But I will be back .... might even just ask for a redo of that soft serve (Truly doubt one can call it ice cream.) flavored with IRISH CREAM and then even pay to have to covered in hot fudge goodness!!! read more

I was surprised when I pulled up to see that this place looked more like a house than an ice cream shop! Lol I pulled in and there was only a couple of parking spots open, so this is a popular place on a Saturday. There was outdoor seating picnic tables filled with people on the side of the business. I went around back when I could see a line formed to get ice cream back there. I had to wait about 30 minutes and there were only about 5 people in front of me, so it wasn't the quickest service, but I'm not complaining. Their menu is huge and diverse. They have so many flavors to choose from, soft serve, dipped options, sundaes, a ton of toppings, and other foods like pretzels. I ordered a cone with chocolate banana and strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It was so yummy and worth the wait! The girls working were so nice and helpful, even though they were so busy. The chocolate banana was my favorite. I will definitely be coming back here! Tips: they only take cash so make sure you have some on you if plan on coming by! read more

I've been going to Scoopy's for years and since last year I noticed the prices for their soft serve ice cream wet up and their portions went down. At first I thought it was a mistake made by the girl at the window, but then it happened every time I ordered a medium soft serve I end up with a small and when I ordered a small it was the same size. Why have a medium soft serve if you're going to train your employees to give smalls? I put 100% of the blame on the owner. She needs to retrain her employees to give customers what they pay for. read more

I was in the area for business and just finished lunch. It was a really hot day and I was so tired of getting Rita's. I looked up Yelp and found out that Scoopy offers 32 flavors of soft serve! They also have a lot of cool items here. Some of these are: icecream pizza, it looks to resemble a cheesecake pie, but with icecream! They also have funnel cake fries. There were a bunch but I was already full so I decided to stick with the soft serve. One of the things to mention is that, even though there are 32 flavors of soft serve, the base will always be either vanilla or chocolate. The syrup and flavoring are added to the mix before serving. It was the only let down because you cannot try the flavors before buying, they had to be mixed in. With that in mind, I do believe the soft serve was amazing. I got teaberry and creme de menthe, both flavors came out distinctive and bold. The serving size was also huge. I'll definitely stop by again whenever I'm in the are to try everything else. read more

Horrible customer service .I went to scoopys at 9:50pm pulled out cash because they only accept cash and I got up to the window at 9:54pm and they had the closed sign up already .I knocked on the window and one of the workers were outside changing the trash I said excuse me to her and she ignored me and walked away it still wasn't 10:00pm why are you guys already closing...never ever will I go back to this place again .HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE read more

This place is ok. Their hours posted are not accurate though. An average ice cream parlor. Nothing to write home about. They have ok selections of frozen treats but again, you can find it anywhere else. Their service isn't all that great either. read more

After dinner ice cream for my boys birthday. Cute little shoppe with a nice little picnic area, in the shade, too enjoy your ice cream. And even though it's right next to a busy street, it was pretty peaceful. Their hard scooped ice cream was generic Breyer's or Turkey Hill, nothing fancy. Decent amount of flavors, but if I wanted that I would have saved money and eaten at home. CASH ONLY. The girls working were all pretty polite, and let me taste a few flavors before making my decision. Chocolate "Reese" was just chocolate with pb swirls... no Reese. Size wasn't bad for a large at an ice cream shoppe, and the price was right too. Overall, very OK place. read more

It's such a treat when you find gems in your neighborhood. I don't know why I've only been here twice. The last time I came for ice cream and the bf got a flurry. We both enjoyed our delicious treats. The sweet and salty caramel pretzel was so tasty, too bad they only had 1 scoop left of it. The pumpkin pie ice cream was perfect, not too sweet and overpowering. It was however a bit soft and melts quickly. The bf enjoyed his chocolate mint flurry. read more

Frankly, they should be featured on the food network or at least the local news. Their selection is the biggest we've ever seen and I always have trouble deciding what to order. Peanut butter cup sundaes, strawberry shortcake funnel cakes, gelati, you name it. They put Coldstone and Rita's to shame. The staff is always friendly and upbeat, and everything tastes great. They also have a nice courtyard with plenty of benches for people to sit and enjoy. It's a great place to take your kids and dogs on a nice day. They are handicap accessible and are cash only. (edit: Someone rated this review as "funny"? That's odd. Well, thanks I guess) read more

We just moved into the area and we're glad there's a good ice cream place to go to! FYI - this place is cash only. I got the sweet & salty caramel pretzel and chocolate banana in a cup, both were very good. I got mint chocolate chip on a preztel cone for my fiance and he really enjoyed it. They have outside seating. Limited parking lot but there's street parking. read more

Beware -- the staff DOES NOT WEAR MASKS INSIDE!!! If you don't want to risk getting COVID-19, just buy a tub of ice cream at the Walmart up the street; it's the same brands anyway. read more

CASH ONLY They don't have that large of a list for water ice flavors, at least not compared to what I am used to at The Water Ice Factory. Their gelati was good though (a large is very large). Chocolate covered banana was fine, but not something I would seek out. Pretzel takes 5 minutes to make, none are ready to order. All in all, not bad, but I don't think I'll switch from my favorites. read more

The ice cream was just ok - definitely not worth a cheat day treat. Baskin Robbins offers better tasting ice cream. The rating is mostly for the inflexibility of the servers. They would not put my mother's banana split (her once a year treat) in a non-boat container even though we explained that we had to travel 20 mins and it would spill everywhere. They gave us a box to put the boat in. I placed it in the vehicle and the lid popped off the banana boat. It was a soupy mess. We eventually went to Dippy's to satisfy my mom's banana split craving. Don't waste your money. Get better quality ice cream and better service elsewhere. read more

This is a local neighborhood type of place that serves up a great selections of soft serve flavors to a multitude of ice cream flavors. On top of that, they serve all sorts of ice cream related desserts. They have kids sizes, which is good since I think the small size is even too big for kids. My favorite flavor that was added was the maple walnut. Can't go wrong with flavors here. read more

bro, i checked what time this jawn opened and it said 12 and closes at 10. I show up at 5:28 pm no one was there. i tapped on the glass for bout 5 minutes when i just assumed they weren't open. even tho the open sign was front and center. i went across the street and got some pretzel factory, and then went back to scoopy's to eat them pretzels outdoors in their nice outdoor seating. And saw other customers getting served. I don't know if they purposely didn't serve me, but i am disgusted and humiliated. I wanted ice cream and was stuck with prETZELS. read more

You will find some interesting flavors at Scoopy's such as Rice Crispy Treat and Red Velvet Cake. The ice cream is good and the prices aren't bad. My two gripes are that the line took a very long time (maybe only 1-2 people working) and the ice cream was extremely melty (freezers not cool enough maybe). As always, I take the other Yelp reviews into consideration and realize that I may have just come at the wrong time. Perhaps a second trip is in order.... read more

Had the hard ice cream - not bad. Over 24 flavors of soft ice cream. Cool and cute lil place.

Next to Cabana's this place is the best.... Peanut butter cup sundae, the best.

We are fans of Scoopy's Too! We've never been disappointed in the selection, portion or quality. Outdoor seating only. Cash only.

Hours are not correct, as when we stopped at 3pm today they were closed. Also, phone number listed has been disconnected.

Waited in line for 15 minutes to find out they are cash only. No sign anywhere that says cash only. It's 2015, buy a credit card machine!!!

My first time here , Don't order the waffles and ice cream they give you Eggos. I would expect from a place like this they would at least have a waffle maker to make fresh waffles. I could have just made this at home myself. read more

We live right by scoppys so we would always see these huge lines, we decided to give it a try and were disappointed. I had waffle hand dipped ice cream and my fiancé had soft serve. They had good service but the ice cream wasn't good nor was the waffle. We regret spending the $14 there. read more

Their flavors are interesting, and they certainly offer a nice variety. My experiences here are generally positive, especially when it comes to their soft serve. I would recommend this place to people who are interested in trying a bigger variety of soft serve ice cream without having to make the trek all the way to Philadelphia. It's not too expensive either, although I would say to still bring extra cash in the event you find yourself wanting more. The only negative experience I've had is with the English Toffee. Under no circumstances should anyone purchase this, primarily because the flavor is so weak that it's essentially vanilla. It's not a flavor that exists on its own, they mix two flavors to create it; that's likely why the toffee taste is non existent. It's unfortunate, but then again trial and error. Otherwise, if you're wondering about different flavors then the staff will be happy to provide a sample if you ask. They are warm, welcoming, and friendly towards everyone. Definitely worth visiting again, especially if you enjoy pumpkin or pistachio soft serve! read more
