While in Yampa on a different fact finding mission we came across Bearpaw Bakery. This is a specialty bakery producing a limited supply of scones, muffins, cakes and other delectable delights. Everything is made fresh each day. Nothing is held for tomorrow. In particular I was very impressed with the banana nut scone drizzled with chocolate. Out of this world. It was enough for 2 if you're just having a late morning snack. It's worth every penny!! I'm willing to drive more than 50 miles for this special treat. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed. Call and check on hours before making a special trip.

In two days I tried many of the items including the quiche, cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, and the cheddar biscuit.

My oh my! I have a new favorite cake and it's all the way in Aspen, CO! :(…read more I take cakes very seriously. I do cake tastings for birthday cakes. No big deal. On a recent trip to Aspen we were celebrating a birthday in our group and I took it upon myself to order the cake. I came across d'Elissious through a friend who lives in Aspen. I visited there website and left a message requesting a cake for 4 days later. I got a call back and ordered a 6 inch golden velvet cake. The lady was very friendly and delivered the cake to our hotel for a small delivery charge. It was simply done in white with a "Happy Birthday" inscription. BUT what I really want to tell you about, and the whole world about is just how amazing this cake tasted. Holy Cake Gods! This was the BEST cake I have ever had. It was a sour cream cake with cream cheese frosting. The whole group agreed that this cake was straight from the heavens. It was so good in fact, that I dragged the left over cake all the way back to LA. On the plane. Through security. Totally worth it. I finished the entire thing. She will ship but it's super pricey... I just might do it at some point!

We were very happy with our beautiful wedding cake, which we ended up upgrading at the last minute. I really enjoyed working with Elissa; she and her staff really did an incredible job.

As I'm reviewing, I'm craving just a few more bites to give me that little kick of spice with some kind of flavors that sets my mouth watering! Top that grit with the hollandaise sauce and it's a perfect balance of flavors and feels. Dive now into the cinnamon roll that literally melted on my tongue while delectable frosting oozed into every crevasse! All in all, what a great way to begin my Thanksgiving holiday with my family here in beautiful Steamboat Springs. Did I mention the help?? Stellar!!

Heading my way outta town, driving fast, feeling my tummy rumbling. Dadadadada…read more I'm so hungry and the drive is so long back to Denver, whatever will I do?! Boom, Winona's! A steamboat treasure! Their cinnamon roll was heavily recommended to me, so, knowing me, I gotta try it! We popped in before hitting the road and ordered a cinnamon roll (surprise!), a peach scone, and green chili grits. Cinnamon Roll: you gotta try this bad boy. It's huuuuuuggeeee! The frosting, melting in front of my eyes, coating the entire roll made my mouth start to water. Once it finally hit my lips... oooooooooowwwweeeeeeee! Skip skiing if you have to, but don't miss this cinnamon roll. Now let's talk about the things you can skip. The peach scone was a little hard and wasn't very peachy to me. Maybe it's because we ate it on the road. Or maybe it is because I'm not a big scone guy. The green chili grits were also mid. I love a good green chili and don't like grits, hence why it was mid. I wouldn't order either of those again, but that's more personal preference on me not liking scones and grits. Anyways get the cinnamon roll, you square!
