I went here 2 years ago and the freezers weren't working. A few months later I bought bacon. Froze it. My son opened it and it had mold on it. We've always stopped by here to buy our meats. My last experience I bought 2 Rib Eye steaks $105. They were the fattiest steaks with 50% waste. Go back and talk with the owner. He could care less we've been 20 year old LOYAL customers. Told us to buy a better choice. I was disappointed in his lack of caring. Taking care of a loyal customer. I'll be buying my steaks from our local co-op in Steamboat from now on. Place was closed at 4:30pm on 7/8/25 so either their hours aren't correct or permanently closed. Disappointing since we drive 80 miles round trip to get meat. And this is their response as a warning to anyone else who may consider going there. read more

Every time I stroll into this place, I have a great experience! JD welcomes me and whomever I've got with me. We always seem to strike up a conversation about healthy foods. The hot brisket hits the spot every single time I go in. He always has something different going on for us to try each time we stop by. The last owners didn't seem to care as much as JD does to keep the place moving. I've probably been going to Middle Park Meat Company for 35 years? Since the original owner gave up the shop... This place used to be great.... but since changing hands it's been a letdown. Apple cured porkchops have just not been as flavorful. Decided to give it another chance yesterday. Bought more porkchops and some smoked brisket. Had the brisket last night. Hard as a rock...and over-cooked. Almost inedible. $26 dollars a pound ! We're done with them. read more

I literally drove 154 miles round trip to pick up a tenderloin and ended up purchasing tallow, supplements, and Blue Spruce candies. The service was phenomenal, and I tried the alligator wrap which was fantastic! It was worth the drive to get local beef and the dinner I served was the best I ever served! They also had Walleye. Rave review here. We were not going to make turkey for Thanksgiving this year. We were eschewing the large family gathering for just us and our kiddo and he really wanted steak, which we had already procured. But we were driving on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving past this shop (which has been through many iterations, and some spells where it was closed) and were planning to go right in by. But it was open--and festively so (smoker cranking, "open" flags flapping in the wind, a come-on-in vibe). So we decided to stop in. I left with wild mushrooms (on sale!) and fish and a flank steak, none of which I meant to buy. But the best was I couldn't leave without one of those darned smoked turkeys (met, of course, with family eye rolls; didn't we decide not to have a turkey, blah blah.) Well that turkey was the best. Period. No one ate steak. Everyone hoovered that turkey like there was no tomorrow. This will be our tradition from now on. And we are happy to support a small, local business. Stop on in. read more

Whenever I see a sign at a meat market that supports local cattlemen, I'm in! We passed the market on our way into town, had lunch, and asked our server about the shop. Locally owned by ranching family . We stopped and got some NY strips to grill that evening (and some jalapeño beef sticks for the road). Rustic, but I don't mind that in a small, local, clean meat market. read more

I used to have a courier job that took me all over the state of Colorado. Whenever I drove through Kremmling I would usually stop at Middle Park Meat. They don't have a huge selection but what they do have is quality country meats. I would usually grab a couple of ribeyes and a dozen farm fresh eggs if they had them in stock. Their bacon is delicious and occasionally I used to get some of their smoked meats and/or smoked fish. Good stuff. If you're in the area be sure to stop in. read more

We have always loved Middle Park Meat. We have gotten lots of cuts that were all tender and delicious. For the past 5 years we have ordered a large smoked turkey from them for Thanksgiving. Every year until this one, they were perfect. This year's turkey was extremely over smoked. Our tradition is to slice it and put it in foil pans and warm it up on Thanksgiving. Our electric knife would not even cut thru it. We tried calling for 4 days after Thanksgiving and no one answered the phone. I drove from Granby to Kremmling to return it. I would have been happy with an apology for our trouble and money back. Instead, the lady working was nasty. She tried to accuse me of ruining it. We had not heated it at all. The BEST filets I've ever had!!! I live in Steamboat and was driving through Kremmling, spontaneously decided to get stop in to get some meat. Had to call in bc of this crazy pandemic, but was so easy to order & they delivered it to my car when I pulled in. I will definitely make the hour drive to stock up on meat!!! read more

I have visited Middle Park Meat a couple times a year for at least 20 years. Stopped by today to pick up a few things After I was reprimanded by an employee (perhaps owner) for looking in the direction of the drawers which where previously self service and then again because I stepped near a person in line in front of me, I noticed the biggest health code violation I have ever seen in a 1st world country. There was a person cutting meat on one table and then wrapping it on another. Under the wrapping table they had stored all the various papers and bags they use to wrap meats. There was a toddler, in diapers playing under the table in the wrapping supplies. All 3 employees were aware of this and none had a problem with it... Poop and food preparation do not mix. This place was not only worth the drive for that (incredible bison ribeyes we still talk about), but their smoked meats are worth the FedEx bill. This place is the real deal. I drive past it going between Denver and Steamboat Springs regularly, and I now compulsively drop $20 every time I come home. Amazing bacon ($7 /lb -- fyi, medium cut is thick, ask for thin cut if you don't like your bacon hearty), apple smoked pork chops and buffalo tenderloin. Haven't tried yet, but it seems like they have good elk and other game cuts depending on the season. Great steaks. Family owned and they don't take plastic. I hope this place doesn't change. read more
