I absolutly love muddy shack, but they are NEVER OPEN!!! It frustrates me horribly. It says they are open until 6, but I can go around 3 and they are closed, 5 guess what they are closed. Last week I went EVERY day because I just wanted a smoothie and nobody makes a better smoothie than them. I went at different times each day, through the entire day. When you are looking for a quick cup of good coffee and want to avoid chains- this is the local coffee shop. They are only drive through- so don't expect a coffee shop you can post up at and work or anything like that. The folks who work here are very friendly, always smiling, and the drinks are affordable. If you drink a complex coffee drink- it may take once of twice before they nail it- but they certainly will. We drink cafe aI laits with almond milk- which comes in the soft box quarts at small places like this- and that type of almond milk tends to burn if it's steamed for too long. So if you have a drink that requires steamed non-dairy milk you could request lightly steamed. Otherwise this is the spot to drop in for coffee!! read more

But i was passing through Craig, CO, and not expecting much from this unassuming-looking drive through in a tire store parking lot. I want to like you so much Mudd Shack but you're forcing me to go to Starbucks...and I hate Starbucks! It seems that it depends on who does the ordering here as to the quality of your drink. I went about 6 times on my own each receiving mediocre drinks and service with a ton of attitude like I am bothering them with my order. Went with a girl friend as we headed out of town and she knew the girl working from school so the drinks were fairly good in flavor and brew time of the espresso used. Went with the boyfriend from there on out and the drinks were great! Also funny enough they were super friendly those times and if I was dressed up they tended to talk more kindly. I would love to give you my locally earned money and more stars but you gotta keep it level throughout! read more

Was staying at a nearby motel, and didn't trust the provided coffee. Walked over to the Mudd Shack and got two cups of black coffee. It was delicious. I'm very picky about my coffee, even if I don't drink lattes or cappuccino. I even considered going back for another cup after breakfast, but decided to just hit the road. Not sure what other options in Craig there are for good coffee, but this is all you need. read more

This was a welcomed sight to weary travelers. Unfortunately the cappuccino and iced coffee were so weak and tasteless both of us had to dump our drinks. It seems to be a favourite of the local clientele who don't take well to the opinions of unneeded tourists. The lady was very nice and the concept was great; however the coffee was watered down or weak and tasteless. A facebook review resulted in an attack on us people who should not dare to have an alternate opinion to the locals and railed that my coffee option was an attack on the town...be forwarned. read more
