I already knew the pizza was going to be good (mama's light) but I wanted to see what their fries taste like... ahhhh.. I read what a great pizza! Ok. I ordered some special pizza which was described as having many different meats then many different vegetables . Like a combination meat lovers and vegetarian pizza. Sounds great to me. Took a while but should be great. Came out Tasted it it was dry almost now sauce Tasted like only sausage pizza with cheese and a little bit of vegetables. I need to update my review. I don't get out this way very often. So since I was nearby I decided to drop in for lunch and watch the U of L Men's BB game. I walked in and was greeted by Theresa. She found me a table in front of the TV and tuned in the game. I started out with a beautiful fresh deluxe salad and a cold Blue Moon. I sat comfortably and watched the Catds and enjoyed a large Garlc Cheese sticks, half cheese and half jalapeño. The service was exceptional and so was the food. Great service on a carry out pizza order, kitchen generated a pizza in 20 minutes and was hot and ready to go. Their style pizza is not necessarily favorite, crust was thin-ish, but no edge, so-so on the sauce flavor, lots of cheese but nothing special and a little bit greasy. Better than a Domino's but 5.7 on the Portnoy Scale. Staff was nice and helpful but definitely better Pizza and Louisville. read more

First off, the pizza is divine! Thick, hot, and plentiful. I was at new downtown location. It lacks the "personality" of the one that was haunted by 2nd street bridge, but food is still great. The manager was a bit curt, but they were busy. I merely wanted to compliment the place. read more

Ate at another bearnos location several years ago. On a whim thought we'd stop at the okolona location. While waiting there were a tone of people in and out for carrot orders. I thought surely this place will be good. Server was nice and pizza was hot. However, this is not restaurant quality pizza. Crust has no flavor and made the whole meal just blah. PLEASE READ! We went to Bearnos and when we poured the beers from the taps there was soo much foam it was 1/2 the glass. We also tried to pour beers that the tap was empty and we were charged full price for the beers even though we did not get any beer because the tap was empty. If we had not pointed it out to the manager they would have let us pay the extra $36... The manager corrected but if we had not brought it up we would have paid for non-existent beers. BEWARE! If the tap is pouring along of foam if you do not tell the waitress you will be charged for all of the foam as if you "got a straight beer pour". read more

Visiting for our next to last club volleyball tournament, and went to Bearnos Pizza. One of my colleagues recommended we try it out, and it did not disappoint at all. There are several locations, but this one was the closest to our hotel, and also had the best reviews. We pulled up and were immediately greeted at our car to see if we had placed an order for curbside pickup. We hadn't ordered, so she brought us a menu. Service was great and the lady was very friendly. We all ordered small pizza, and it is absolutely enough for one person. We had 1 & 1/2 pizzas left after stuffing ourselves. The crust was thin, but not too thin, and had great texture. Plenty of toppings and cheese, and everything tasted great. The quality of ingredients is top notch. We got the meatball appetizer with cheese, and it was the perfect start to dinner. The marinara sauce was excellent, and the homemade meatballs were delicious. We did get some dessert; a piece of Derby Pie and Cinnamon Sticks. Both were good, but the slice of pie is a little small for the price. Can't speak for the any of the other locations, but if you're in the area and want some outstanding pizza, you should come to Bearnos. read more

This is my favorite pizza. Bearnos is a local legend in Louisville. My dad used to get my brother and I this pizza every Friday when we were kids. I love everything about it. We usually get a large two topping pizza(pepperoni and sausage) and it runs about $17 with a coupon. So to me the only downfall is the price of the pizza. It is a tad expensive for pizza. However I do recommend it and we try to go at least once every couple months. 5 out of 5 and we will be back always. read more

I just spent almost an hour of my life in that place. So called "server" took my request, a personal pan pizza and a soda. Nothing else. Almost forty five minutes roll by, I was the ONLY table in the restaurant most of this time, one lone man came in about thirty minutes after I arrived, a couple people came in to pick up carry outs. She walks around, sees me sitting there, apparently with no worries. I finally ask about my lunch, she says she'll check on it. She comes back out and says she forgot to place the order in the computer. How?? There is no one else there! I am visible upset. I wasted my entire lunch hour. Then she tells me "don't" in a threatening manner when I tell her she is poor at her job. Never ever again. Ridiculous. Incompetent. read more

By far this is my favorite pizza in Louisville!!! They say "you get what you pay for" when it comes to pizza and I couldn't agree more. When you get a pizza here its loaded thick with toppings and has a lot of weight to it. (see pics of our 2 pizzas) It's not cheap in price but you will not be disappointed if you like a pizza loaded up (lots, lots and lots) with toppings! This trip we decided to dine inside. Not a huge place inside but plenty of tables to accommodate the average crowd. Most people pick up their pizza to go so I guess the smaller dining area works well. We all ordered pop and our waitress was wonder!! We never had to ask for refills as she kept our sodas filled the whole time. Both pizzas came out hot and fresh and were enjoyed by all. read more

One of the best pizzas in town. Called in my order as I was leaving the golf course. When I got there a waitress came up to my car and asked my name and then went and brought my pizza order to my car. There is no one allowed in the restaurant. They are just doing carry out or delivery. Hopefully one day after this COVID crap is done we can get back to normal and eat in the restaurant again. read more

We had gotten Bearno's once before and like but were sorely disappointed on our second, and last, trip. We ordered all appetizers to go, paid $1 extra for 10 soggy fries to go with the chicken tenders (and BTW, there were not 6 as advertised). The stuffed mushrooms looked like small button mushrooms bought last minute at Krogers and arranged to presumably look like the pan was full, but with a full 2 inches between each mushroom, it was a lame attempt. This was nearly $10; I would like to load a photo to show just how pitiful the serving is, but apparently am not allowed. The same goes for the buffalo chicken dip -- enough to barely coat the bottom of the pan with mostly cheap chips and a few strips of garlic bread, also nearly $10. A picture is worth a thousand words and I guess that is why photos aren't allowed -- they say so much more than a mere review. Moreover, the food was bland. To sum it up: avoid Bearno's if you want to avoid being ripped off and/or if you want quality food. read more

I have been coming to this establishment from time to time for a few months. I usually get excellent food and service, however; the last few times have just been less than exemplary of the professionalism that I am used to. A few weeks ago, I was dining in and noticed that the woman who was waiting on me had a tear in her shorts all the way to the crotch and then proceeded to sweat all over our food and table setting. Thinking that I would give it enough time and I will get the waitress that I like... Nope! I got the same disgusting woman and she couldn't even clean herself up for work AGAIN! I don't know if she just doesn't know how to be clean and presentable but, dirty clothes and torn sorts along with listening to her complain about people who are not there... No one wants to come to eat with your sweat underwear out all over the place. As for the girl that was before her... Well let's just say she needs to learn what a trash can is. I'm am going to give this one last shot to get the waitresses that know what service is in a dining facility, if I can't get her, I will make another post and influence my others friends to not return or just get delivery. Been ordering from Bearnos on Preston Hwy in Okolona for over 30 years and yesterday was the worse. I order 2 orders of the 12 ea. hot wings . 1 order was fine but the 2nd one was so burnt that I had to throw away 9 wings out of the second box. Cause they were so burnt. If I would of known I could post a pic of would of. But I didn't know that. I sent 28 dollars and some change on that order. Which I used my credit card. I was so disappointed when my lunch hour came up at work and opened the box. And seen the burnt wings. When you pull a 16 hr shift and you try to bring enough food to last during that time. And you see that . Welp it just ticket me off to know end. And ended starving the last 8 hrs of a 16 hr shift. I am so very disappointed in the quality of our pizza last night, it had an odd aftertaste and my husband left like it was not all the way cooked. I had requested crispy crust and well done :( I called this morning to speak w/ the manager and he told me so sorry we can not do a thing for you, you should have called last night, not a discount for a future order-NOTHING! After a super long day we pulled into Bearno's. We placed a to go order - breadsticks and the all meat pizza. She told us it would be about 20 mins and we waited outside at the new tables. She even brought it outside when it was ready. Loved that. Got home and our pizza weighed about about 3 lbs opened up the breadsticks to find them wrapped in foil -- still giving off steam/heat. They added both sauces just like we asked for. The amount of meat on there was insane. It was freaking delicious!! Love this little bearnos location. From the lunch buffet to just going and enjoying a pizza from time to time. I take my 3 daughters and group of there friends up here at lest once a month go and have a pizza for dinner. This pizza is fabulous!! The pizza is pretty pricey but you get what you pay for. The pie is loaded with toppings!! The flavor is fantastic. The wait staff is very friendly. Went for dinner one evening with family and returned a few weeks later and had the lunch buffet. Awesome price and includes the drink. Three of us had the buffet for less than the cost of one pizza. The selection on the buffet is pretty diverse. The pizza is not as loaded as when you buy an individual pizza but was still pretty covered and the taste was still wonderful. The buffet also includes a small salad bar, a pasta dish, cocktail meatballs and steamed veggies. Excellent deal, fabulous food and nice friendly staff. Last two times i've called ahead and no order was actually placed so i had to wait an additional 45 min first time and 20 min the 2nd time. My dad used to rave for days about Bearno's Pizza, but he hasn't eaten there or said anything about it for a while, and I understand why. All I can say about Bearno's is meh. The buffet, which is pretty much the only good thing about eating inside the restaurant, is only at lunchtime. So when we went in the evening, we were stuck finding something from the menu. They offer personal sized pizzas and pizzas that feed a whole group, but it's just not the same. I ordered the lasagna, and, again, it was just meh. It was way too cheesy, which usually is a good thing, but I felt like I was just eating forkfuls of cheese before I could get to the noodles at the bottom. It was good, but it wasn't great. Like many pizza places, don't go to Bearno's for the pasta or the salad--you go for the buffet! So when it wasn't there, I was extremely disappointed. But I'll definitely give Bearno's another chance to redeem itself by going during the day and getting the lunch buffet. read more
