The garbage disposal in my sink stopped working, and I asked Sunwave to come out to look at it. They came out the same day. They also discovered that the disposal wasn't broken. It just needed an Allen wrench to turn the blades a little bit to loosen it up. The service took 5 minutes. SUNWAVE DID NOT CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE. I come from a big city where there is a minimum service fee just to come out to your house (usually running into several hundred dollars). So this gratuitous service really was quite a pleasant surprise. And to be clear, I would have been very happy to pay Sunwave Plumbing. It was a very difficult weekend without a working kitchen sink.

The house is in Afton, he lives in Fredericksburg, around 2 hours away! He got to Afton by about 5 or 5:30. He'd have to drive back to C'ville to get a new pump, and he'd have to pull the well! But after giving me the cost, he simply asked, "Should I go ahead and do it now?" I was stunned! Here it was, 6PM on a Sunday night. Pulling a well is no easy job, but he was willing to go ahead and do it right then and there! "Sure" I stammered. Around 10 o'clock, Shane called. BUYER BEWARE - Rooterman, like most plumbing companies I contacted, would not quote a price for…read moreclearing a main sewer line blockage. They wanted a $89 dispatch fee to give me a quote. So no matter who you might select, you still pay fees for just getting a quote. This company previously serviced my main sewer line to clear a clog in 8/2023 for a price of $349, which included the clean out service and a visual camera inspection to verify the line was cleared out. This time they came to service my line on 9/15/2026 and told me the pricing had changed. The cost to clean out the line was now $600 and the cost to inspect the line to verify the work removed the clog was an additional $400 for a total of $1000. Although the technicians were great and provided good service, the costs are astronomical. Just very disappointed the costs have tripled in 3 years.

I was told they would have to come back another day to complete the work, and we scheduled for the next day. 10 minutes after they were due to show up, the scheduler, Nola, called me and stated they would not be sending a tech until I agreed to their price of $861 to lay a foot of copper pipe to an existing line and replace an outside spigot. The work was supposed to be done hourly on a time and materials basis. I told her I thought the price ridiculous and shared my dissatisfaction with having to be pinned down waiting another day to have a tech come to do the job they were unprepared to do the day before. I was told I was being "rude" for having to explain to her how I had been inconvenienced (because she asked me that question). She said she would have to talk to her service manager to see if they could even send anyone and would call me. She never called and I called her back and let her know I had been a customer at Fitch for 23 years but will no longer be using their services ever again. John Fitch used to run a decent company, but now the customer service is horrible, the techs are unprepared, and they try to price gouge the customers to make up for time lost due to their own errors.
