Also, they blast commercial radio which means stupid loud commercials which definitely kills the chill vibe. Good Lord, almost any other pool either plays nothing (peaceful), or commercial free streaming. Winter maintenance is annual and rather excessively long. The pool is large and clean - the absolute priority when it comes to pools! But the best part is that it's nicely landscaped with plenty of seating areas and picnic spots. It's very much like a resort pool. I used to come here frequently with friends and it was never crowded. Most of the patrons were elderly couples (swimming in the mornings) or young family's during the day. No riff-raff or rowdy folks. There is security here often, which is nice. It keeps things under control. No alcohol or glass is allowed. So follow the rules and enjoy the pool and spa!

So you either change in the restroom stall or you go home wet. Lifeguards are supervising but please still watch your kids. Specifically the older ones who are playing roughly with each other and end up slamming into little kids. Tickets are purchased online through the City of Santa Clarita website. You have to find the section to register for programs/classes. Make an account. It will show all programs/classes offered. Click on "Aquatics". Scroll down and click on "Recreational swim ticket Aquatic Center- $7". You will add all family or account members you need. When you add to cart it will discount the price for kids ($5) or babies (free). They have a list of people attending so no printed ticket required.

My son already had comfort in the pool and could swim without knowing specific strokes so he is growing in that way. My daughter who didn't want to put her face in, now in flipping and swimming underwater with comfort and after just 3 weeks. The best part is the classes have been free or just $10 because of LA County's everybody swims program. One thing to note is that the instructors change in the classes. Sometimes you'll have an instructor for a few days in a row. But often they're switched from day to day. I could see that being an issue for some as it could be hard to track progress. But it hasn't been a problem for us. I also like that it gets my kids used to learning from different people. I also feel that my kids are safe because there is always an extra life guard outside of the pool watching them during classes. The facility feels clean considering how many people go through it. We took afternoon classes and it didn't feel busy. My friend took an evening class and she said it was very busy. I hear that the open swim times can get very busy too. Parking is plentiful though some of the spots are small.

The kid splash area is pretty small and wasn't in use when we were there because the whole facility was being occupied by the swim meet. Not much shade around the aquatic center but it was fine as we were there in winter- probably scorching though in summer. The bathrooms are pretty clean and relatively new. Plenty of parking in the surrounding sports complex which includes a nice skate park and multiple play structures with plenty of shade and grassy areas for play.
