I was in the Harrison area for a long weekend with my husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law…read more We picked Harrison Bay State Park for our morning hike on Sunday morning. We love a good hike, so we picked the park's longest hike - the Bay Point Loop trail (a 4.5-mile loop). The park's website calls the trail "moderate" but we definitely felt it was easy. Very flat and not very strenuous - more of a walk than a hike! But the entire trail loops around a winding peninsula on Harrison Bay - so you have water views throughout the hike (which was lovely)! Even on a Sunday during our COVID summer, the trail wasn't crowded. We only saw a few other hikers or runners. The trail is a little hard to find - the park's signage isn't great - but if you find the parking lot behind the marina, the trail is sort of hiding at the back of the parking lot. For a fairly easy hike, this trail has some gorgeous water views. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

It's super cute, spacious, and one of my favorite things is that it's sensory inclusive. I enjoyed finding all of the "hidden" snacks in the park. It's kinda like a scavenger hunt for grown up snack junkies! If you're in the area, it's a must visit spot! Pro Tip: The Little Debbie store down the street from the park was closed due to the Labor Day holiday so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

This is one of those hidden gems one may never find unless somehow the path is illuminated to this off the beaten path spot! This weekend I came across many people and the majority had their pups with them. Along the way there was plenty of seating and trash cans which were strategically placed. And though this trail is considered easy, there are a few hills that make it moderate. You will definitely get a workout if you visit. There seemed to be a great deal of parking available however when I left it was quite full.

This park is well maintained, with restroom facilities, and offers easy hiking trails, paved paths to jog, walk, cycle, or push strollers. Keep in mind that if you walk on the area where vehicles can drive on, all pedestrians are supposed to be on a certain side of the road. Just follow all the signage and instructions around the park. The park staff are friendly, and it's nice that maps are provided in the welcome center as well as select map stations around the park. A police vehicle is stationed at the front and is occasionally seen patrolling the park. Another neat park feature of the park is the bunkers! We've found at least one open to view inside. Supposedly, the bunkers were used to store TNT. The cherry on top to this park, though, is the newly added dog park, Barks and Tails. Our dog LOVES it, and so do we. Enterprise South Nature Park is really wonderful and an easy place to enjoy a fun filled outing.

Whenever you go the parking lot may be quite full. You definitely won't be the only one there. Poe Run Path is only for pedestrians is the trail I decided to take after seeing the bikers on a different trail. The bikers trails looked liked fun. There is also a business office open to the public. There you can find assistance and restrooms.

This is such a lovely walking path. We started at The Nook park and walked to the duck pond…read morerefuge. There are is a dog park just after The Nook playground. Then another park for kids to play and there's a bathroom. Along the way you cross several cool bridges. There's many sitting spots that you can ponder or rest. Great photo opportunities for people looking to take school, engagement photos, etc. There's a creek that runs along the walk with lots of spots to cool off or take in the sights. The duck pond is fun and they have a duck and fish food vending machine for 25 ¢ for a handful of food. We saw a few people fishing catch & release from the pond. From the map, it's a 2 mile walk one way with an additional 1 mile path in the same direction that we did not walk. Easy hike with a well placed path the entire way. Handicap friendly. Great for jogging as well.
