The absolute best training & boarding in the greater Bay Area! They work with both owner & dog to…read moreensure long term growth. We have boarded both our Vizslas there repeatedly. Scott handled our dog in AKC trials and earned several first place placements. Additionally they're awesome people who have fostered an amazing dog community that is always willing to help a fellow owner in need.

I took my young rescue Britanny to Deanna at Nelson Kennels for obedience training 3 months ago at…read morethe recommendation of a friend. He is a lovely dog but because he hadn't received enough attention in his young life, had no manners, pulled on leash, wouldn't come if he didn't feel like it, ran away, was generally a challenge around the house etc. I enrolled him in the monthly in-kennel board / training program and took weekly lessons from Deanna with him. I have a changed dog, and just as importantly, during the lessons, I learned the skills of how to control him ! We are now getting tons of compliments about his training when I have him in public, and 2 weeks ago we completed an off leash obedience challenge at the Nelson Kennels Volta Farms training field and aced it. I am so proud of my dog and thankful to Deanna. She and her husband Scott have taken great care with him and have helped me turn his life around. I am going to continue with the obedience training at Nelson Kennels and may even do some show trials with him later this year. It was well worth the investment. BTW - I did arrange for regular bathing and nail trim for my dog at the on-site groomers during his in-kennel stay and was very happy with them.

I had the pleasure of putting my dog "Toast" in Justin's care for three weeks. I was planning on…read moretraining my dog from the start, but lagged. My wife and I bought a camper van and plan on doing some week long trips and maybe longer. I wasn't confident that Toast had the skills to deal with dogs when they approached. I needed help! Off Leash K9 Trainer Justin was just what we needed. He was professional and has a personality I was looking for to help Toast. Toast is a mixed breed and has quite a "personality". I was in over my head at first. Not! anymore. After 3 weeks with Justin she has turned into a very responsive dog. Follows commands. Isn't aggressive towards dogs on the street anymore. It was so embarrassing to walk her during the day. I resorted to night walks. When I met Justin after her time in training he helped me understand Toast better and couldn't be more pleased with the dog I have now. If the training didn't work she was going up to adoption. Cruel? I know. We can not rave enough about the experience we had. If you're in the same boat as we were, it's worth every penny! "5"

We've had our dog back for about a week now and she is listening so much better. I've been able to take her on walks with a stroller, no pulling or tripping. She's been more interested in our kids petting her and playing with her. Overall very happy with the training and happy we had Justin as her trainer!

Jillian did an amazing job with our Shiloh Shepherd puppy! He did a 2 week board and train program…read moreand came back a new pup. Jillian made sure to focus on our pain points, practiced both on and off leash training, and gave us regular updates on his progress. The best part was she spent 2 hours with us when we got back to get us comfortable with the commands and what to do in certain situations. Would highly recommend her!

This place is special for my dogs (Hammie and Nilla) and it brings our family so much peace of mind…read moreto know that Megan is caring for them. We met Megan before the pandemic when searching for an off leash trainer for our older corgi. After a 2 week boot camp with Megan, Nilla was a different dog (in all the right ways). She was still loyal, loving, and attached to her family, but she was also obedient and finally a pleasure to walk and take to busy places like parks and shopping centers. When we got our second dog it wasn't even a question.. He went for training as soon as he was past puppyhood. Beyond training, Megan has cared for our dog while traveling for many weeks. Even though she lives well over an hour away from my home, I gladly make the drive - Because she put in the time to build a relationship with my dogs. They love her and I know they are safe and happy with her. They always come back a little more well behaved too :) Thanks K9 Approach - so happy we found you! Hammie and Nilla await the next adventure with you Megan! PS - all photos were sent by Megan during various trips and adventures with K9 Approach
