My dog Aria loves Janeen! She takes pictures of your dog with cute backgrounds after the groom and she is a very kind person! Best place to take your dog for a groom in Merced/Atwater! read more

Janeen is excellent at grooming my dog and I have been going to her ever since.. And I don't plan on taking my dog anywhere else either! I took my dog to Pet Smart but I was never satisfied with the work, plus it was $36+ each time for a 5-10lb dog. I also requested not to put bows in her hair, she is a Shih Tzu, and they always did! Janeen works 8-2, M-F, and you just call her up, leave a message, and she will call you back to schedule an appointment. She usually gets your dog out in 2 hours, but she will let you know, or if you have plans, let her know and she will work around them. She knows how to groom and usually puts a cute little handkerchief on my dog before I pick her up. I have referred her to friends and family and they all love her work too! My dog is 11 lbs and it is $15 for a touch up, trim face, paws, butt and belly, nail trim and wash. It is $25 for a full cut. read more

Critter Cuts Dog Grooming - Teddy after his bath and cut! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Merced, California

Janeen has taken care of 4 of my dogs over the last 8+ yrs and I couldn't be happier with her service and kindness. She's a natural with all sizes too! I've brought her mutts with long hair and big German shepherds that can be intimidating. Her prices are very reasonable. I started coming to her because Petsmart wanted to charge $70 for a 20 lb dog!!! plus they aren't near as kind to the pets as Janeen. I wouldn't go anywhere else and recommend her to anyone that needs her service. Thanks, Janeen! You rock read more

This last visit to "Critter Cuts" is just that "the last visit". I got back to the shop to pick up my Daisy and stood outside by the door to not disturb Daisy being cut. I could hear Daisy crying and then heard Teresa yelling at Daisy saying "That's some Serious, Stupid Shit there Dog" then Teresa went on a rant saying "I don't want to do my homework, I don't want to do my chores, I don't want to eat my vegetables, I DON'T WANT TO GET MY HAIR CUT". Now, I know dogs don't understand being cursed at or being berated but dogs do understand the tone in ones voice. I did not tell Teresa at the time what I had heard, thought better of it, I paid her and left. Little did I know the worse was yet to come. Since I carried Daisy out I didn't notice the razor burn (picture attached) and the fact that Daisy favored her hind leg with a limp, like maybe her leg had been yanked because she was not being co-operative. Yes, the prices at Critter Cuts are reasonable but not worth the safety of my dog. And, Teresa if you read this I do realize and I quote you "this dog has not been in since Januray". We wanted Daisy to have a warm coat on her body during the Winter months. I trusted you with my dog....it would have respectful if you had showed me where Daisy had been razor burned. Janeen, if that was you in the shop witnessing this kind of behavior as the owner you should have corrected Teresa. read more

I booked a 9:00 a.m. appointment with Critter Cuts. I've had my shih tau for about 5 weeks and wanted her to have a professional bath, grooming, and clip. I showed up for the appointment and had to park in the available parking in the rear. No signs on the rear entrances so I walked my pet to the front door. I was chastised for wanting to enter in the front; was told that she'd let me in this time but not again. I was asked for my name and was told that I had no appointment scheduled. I was told that I had no appointment because she lived in Mariposa and she had no phone service. (The appointment was scheduled online) When I asked what could be done about that I was told to leave. Couldn't believe that. Then owner's voice became loud and demanding to the point that she was yelling at me, "Get out of the shop. Leave" I began to leave out of the door I came in and was directed to the rear exit, all the time being yelled at and told to leave. Later in the day we received an email telling us that our appointment was denied. I suggested a course in customer relations and another in anger management which weren't received well but I believe will be necessary if this shop is to last. I'll tell all my friends about this experience. read more
