I went to pick up my dog Oliver and everything looked fine but of course Louise was holding him so I couldn't see his legs. Right after picking him up we went to the gym and we were there for a few hours. He slept the whole time. Then when he turned to the side and I picked him up that's when I noticed the bad wound he had on his leg. Immediately I went back to let them know I was very upset and this had been the second time that he had been injured where nobody discussed it with me and told me. I told them I wanted my money back and I will never go back there again. The gentleman took a picture send it to the Groomer and she denied it and said that it never happened and that he did it Oliver did it! I was very emotional and I cried there was no sympathy from either one of them they were not gonna give me my money back and they kept saying they didn't do it when obviously they did... I was very upset and they were not gonna give me my money and I told them I was gonna call the police. I was not gonna back down on this since they did it they were trying to make it look like I did it to Oliver and I was trying to get my money back. Like I said this is the second time they've done it the first time it was different I forgave them and they were like oh sorry I forgot to tell you, but now that they're saying they didn't do it and they weren't gonna give me my money back that's the time that I said no more of this crap It's not fair to Oliver and it's not fair to me. While I was crying I said please just give me my money back I will never come. so of course he walks away then he handed me the $55 and says make sure you tell the next Groomer he's a biter and don't ever come back, which I told him when I first walked in I am never coming back to this place.. plus it always smelled and hair was always around it's not a well kept business. Anybody that hurts and inflict pain on your injured animals they are not good people and they're liars!! so if you're smart you won't do business with this place there's a lot of other businesses that will treat your dog a lot better and not hurt them. My experience here was very disappointing. Upon entry the smell was overwhelming and the salon visibly dirty. The smell was not the average wet/dirty dog smell but much more foul. We wanted to get a nail trim and self wash. The clerk took my dog over to the front table and didn't clip her onto the actual table. He was holding her with one hand and using a dremel with the other. She began twisting as dogs tend to do and the dremel actually got stuck in her fur on her ears taking out a small chunk. He was also condescending and quite rude stating that the dremel "would stop" when the hair got caught but it didn't. I quickly got over and tried helping while he continued, but he was very rough with my dog pulling on her back leg pretty hard until she cried out. Now, I understand my dogs nails were way overdue for a trim but seeing her in pain and the clerk having no empathy for her really upset me, so I will never be returning and don't recommend anyone to visit. read more

Came here to use the self wash with my dog and I will keep this plain and simple. The self wash area was DISGUSTING, soggy hair everywhere and everything was dirty. This wasn't just a few days no cleaning it's been a while. No one cares about that area at all. The dry rolled up towels to use smelt like dirty dog/ pee and had dog hair all on them. The whole place smelt like pee. Definitely not returning and I definitely don't recommend bringing your dog for the self wash. It way more worth it to make the water mess at home. read more

DO NOT GO TO BARK'N BISCUIT SALON IN MERCED CA. I took miso (my puppy) into this establishment for grooming. Upon coming home I noticed he has a red blood spot in the corner of his eye. The next morning he woke up with the blood spot spread around his eye. I called the groomer and she told me she would pay for my vet visit, upon visiting I discovered he has light bruising and subconjunctival hemorrhage around his right eye (we were told this from the vet), I had to proceed to put him on anti inflammatory medicine and ice his head every 12 hours. I called the groomer back and was hung up on, spoken to rudely, accused of doing that to my dog himself, and also accused of lying about my dogs age and breed (confusing) I allowed her to call the vet and she claimed she had no fault because he was once treated for allergies. She now refuses to pay for his medical bills, or reimburse me for the UGLY groom job she did. I am waiting for a full statement from my vet confirming that this was not due to an underlying condition. Edit to reply: It is disheartening to hear that no accountability was taken. Miso barely turned 6 months old. He has had his first puppy trim and a regular shave at a different groomer. We decided to check this salon due to reviews. He does not have any mats as we brush him frequently. And second of all, we don't even have a backyard as we take him on daily walks! read more

I went in a while back I came in just to check out the items they had the offer in their shop, since I am from out of town. I found a few things I was going to buy, but then I witnessed how poorly the staff was treating the dogs that came in. I was appalled by the treatment and instantly walked out. I could not give my business to people who treat dogs like that. Looking at the negative reviews I can tell there are cases like the one I witnessed, but the owner consistently gaslights the reviewers and does not take any accountability. I hope this shop will learn from their mistakes and be better for our fur babies. Response to owner: I came in a while ago so I am not sure how she knows when I came in. I am from a different city. I own my own grooming business. I own a poodle she rolled in some mud so I stopped by for the self wash. The tub was dirty the table was dirty the place had dust everywhere. It smelt of dirty dog horribly. The guy who was the only person there did not have any customer service skill he was not passionate about his job he was not friendly. The shampoo was mixed with water which means they make their own solution which is fine that is what I do. But they should make the solution fresh as shampoo starts to make bacteria after 24 hours. I do not believe it was made that morning as why would you make it fresh when there is no guarantee someone will be using the self wash. The shampoo did not lather so they are not mixing the ratios correctly. The force dryer is what I expected not high quality but did the job well. This salon could be amazing with a good owner and staff. I was able to see in the back while grooming my dog it was dirty and definitely no sanitizing. The guy grooming the dog was kind to the dog but the smell was disgusting and they clearly do not know how to clean I would highly recommend bringing your own shampoo read more

The young guy who helped me did a decent job but there was zero customer service. He seemed really unenthusiastic from the very beginning like he didn't really want to be at work. I made a couple of requests regarding the cut and when I come pick my dog up it's like he didn't even hear what I had said. When I came back to pick her up she was fine but later that evening saw that she had razor cuts and burns from them shaving her too close to the skin. My sister's furbabies lacerations on his penis and his anus and his scrotum was horrifying. . My sister is disabled. She is in a power chair. She trusted that her baby would be properly taking care of. On October 15th 2021. That was not the case. I am her care taker. When I came to work that night I was so livid. Both her and her fur baby were crying. I had to spend the night to make sure that she would get well rested for her job the next day. My sister's furbaby did not sleep at all due to discomfort from the clipper burns and the teeth of the clippers made sores on his penis and anus. When he went to pee and poop he cried out loud with pain. Just horribly wrong in so many ways. So when i went there to confront the lady she said he/furbaby was matted. Which was not true. Because my sister and I care for him as well. He is brushed everyday. We just wanted his hair groomed for the season. They shaved him to the skin. Ridiculous and unprofessional attitude when confronted. I asked her why every furbaby had the same hair cut. She had no answer. The pics on the BARKING BISCUIT page shows almost every furbaby with the SAME DARN HAIRCUT/GROOMING. Then she said because of my sister's disability she didn't understand. Which I can tell you is a load of crap. Anybody that knows my sister knows she is very intelligent. I left after that cause I was so mad and upset. I did not want to be incarcerated. Instead of offering to fix the problem or even try to make it right she steady denied it all. Not a furbaby loving place at all. Alll of my family that have used this horror show has stopped taking there furbabies to BARKING BISCUIT. We have all seen less and or no anxiety from our furbabies since then. This is the worst shop I have ever gone to, not to mention very poor customer service skills. On Friday Nov. 8 I took my dog Sputnik in for a wash and groom. When I picked my dog up I noticed he still had that dog smell . I then took him home and brushed him and the brush was full of hair. I called Bark 'N Biscuit and voiced my concerns and that I felt a rewash was needed. The young man on the phone would not give me his name and told me they had done their job. I then asked to speak to the owner and they said she was busy. I then asked if she could please return my call and gave them my number and I'm still waiting on that call. I found this little Gem a year ago! Desiree Leon and staff always take extra care and give both of my dogs TLC when the get groomed. My fur babies come out all shining and new and the are happy! When the had their vet check they told me I have excellent groomers that help me take care of my babies hygiene. My babies are both pound puppies and they are so excited to go get groomed. I definitely recommend Bark N Biscuit. They also have amazing treats inside the store to buy for you babies. They are clean and also have a self wash center available for you to use if you prefer to wash your own pets. Plus parking is so easy! You can pull in and out and load and unload you animals safe. I would give them more stars if I could. Definitely won't be disappointed. Prices are very competitive to other groomers. read more

I couldn't recommend Bark N Biscuit enough! Desiree has been my all my pups groomer for a very long time, she's even taken extra measures to make sure that one of my dogs who was diabetic was given extra care to the point of how'd I'd care for her. Not many will allot that much time to make a senior dog especially with a disability extra comfortable. She's groomed my older dogs, I'd take all 4 Yorkies in at once leaving totally at ease but kind of feeling sorry for her and Luis! She's again my go to for my 2 new little Yorkie sisters, they began at Bark N Biscuit at 3 months old. There is ABSOLUTELY NOBODY ELSE IN MERCED I WOULD EVER TRUST with my precious babies other than Desiree! She cares for all her animals as if they were her own and I love that about her. I was able to drop my dogs off at opening and they were ready two hours later, which was pretty quick. Most importantly, my dogs looked great when I picked them up- clean, nicely brushed out, nails trimmed up, and adorable little bandanas on. Prices were reasonable and you definitely get what you pay for. I am so disappointed! I showed up for what I thought was a 930am appointment for my 3 dogs to be groomed. When I arrived at 9:17 (I thought early) I was told I was "late" and while they don't usually take late appointments they would take my dogs because it's their first visit (which it is not their first visit). I waited two weeks for this appointment and to find out they couldn't be seen was pretty upsetting. No reminder call, email, or text the day before like most businesses. If that had happened I would have known it was at 9am and not 9:30. A family member made the appointment for me and made a mistake with the time. So my loss, my dogs loss...they are going to be hot until I can find someone else, and the groomers loss because their morning just got a lot quieter. One suggestion....no need to be condescending when lecturing me about "being late". read more
