I always have an issue when it comes to picking up my dog here. Even with an early appointment of 8:45 am which is before the store opens, I have to wait over 4 hours to pick up my dog. You won't even get an ETA either so forget about any plans you've made. They tried to charge me for a bath and not groom her so that I can take her after 4 hours when I needed her to be groomed. read more

The grooming salon is not the best place. I know Val in the beginning seemed nice and did a good job so I thought, but when I continued to have shitzu's go get the same grooming they have had it changed on what was done specifically the ear cleaning by picking out the fur. When confronted to Val she mentioned it was not something they do for package they give which I was very surprised and mentioned they done it before and she said well then they messed up. I am shocked about this business and in fact when looking online there is no mention of this secret ear picking other than the ear cleaning. I would not recommend anyone to use this service as the lady Val has a bi-polar attitude towards customers. read more

Went into the store to get some fish. Stood in the fish department for a long time waiting to see an employee, then walked around looking for one none in sight, so I walked up the the check out an employee that was obviously the manger with the shirt she had on (had had dealing with her on prior visits) told me that so and so was back there and she would help me. This is the only place I have ever taken my Schnoodle to be groomed and I have no complaints. I highly recommend Val for the grooming. My dog has a very specific hair cut and I can honestly say I have always been 100% satisfied with Val. She does exactly what I ask and Winston always comes back looking perfect. Winston has extremely high anxiety going to get groomed and Val always treats him so amazing and assured me that he's perfect when he's there and I know she treats him the way she would want her babies treated. I've pretty much come here for anything I can think of for my dogs for such a small town. I mainly bring in both of my dogs for grooming Val and Ashely have always been so caring to my dogs and always so welcoming! I've never had any issue or any disappointment bringing both my dogs to them. I always feel well take care of and never have to wait long to check them in or pick them up. Sometimes it looks like they have had a long day but the definitely changes once there taking care of us. Thank you ladies!! I appreciate you taking care of my dogs as if they were you own and never will hesitate to bring them in! I know most people may have different experiences but I don't think I ever have. No issue with Petco the store itself but this complaint is going towards the Vetco clinic. Today at 10:07am i showed up to take my cat Mila R. to get her 2nd round of vaccinations called feline 3 in1 (FVRCP) vaccination. As we were there waiting for about 15 mins a man who i believe his name was Emmanuel assisted me and said to wait one moment. As i waited a few mins the Vet named Dr. Foster, Kimberly and her vet assistant stacey had stated to me that they had no cat vaccinations. After waiting there for 15 mins and not to mention driving from home to petco, it would of been nice if someone would have notified me in regards to not having the cat vaccination instead of showing up here and without getting my cat Mila vaccinated. This is very unacceptable, unprofessional on the vetco part of this. The vetco team states to me that they forgot the cat vaccinations at their home site. My appt was already made weeks in advance to have my cat vaccinated. My cat needs her shot and not to mention it is coming to a deadline. Hard to make appt with vetco as i ran into another situation before when i came back for the 2nd dose back in 3/21/2021 for them to tell me that i passed her deadline (because app was not make in time|appt was not avail on the exact date) that they would have to re-vaccine her all over again. So vetco vaccined my cat again and here now they have no vaccine today for my cat. The vet Dr Foster had advised me to go to Madera, CA which they are also holding another vaccination clinic today. It was hard enough to have my cat in car while driving to the clinic let alone to have to drive all the way to Madera, CA. I was not going bother. My point is that how this service was handled is not acceptable. I hope that this does not happen to anyone else like it happened to me. I will no longer be getting my cat vaccinated with this vetco clinic here in Los Banos, Ca or any other vetco's in the area of where i live again as the service today was unacceptable. read more

I only come back because it's the only Petco here and I love the store just not the employees. Update on previous post. So I haven't gone back to Los Banos Petco for dog grooming. I found another place where it's cheaper and staff is very pleasant and if you aren't satisfied about service they try to diligently fix it without giving any bad attitude. Price doesn't really matter when it comes to my pets (I've been going for 14 months) but if I know I'm paying more than other places and the service my dog is getting isn't good, well that is a problem. My favorite pet store. My dog might love this store as much as I do! we love the groomers, her groomer is Sam, she's amazing but they are all so nice and welcoming! The employees in the store are the same, always offering to help, super friendly, I love talking to the people who are working with and without my dog there. bonus, my kids love looking at all the other animals! it's a clean store, the layout makes sense, and prices seem standard for a pet store. At this time after a few visites and one grooming, I give the staff top honors and can only give 4 of 5 stars due to cost and coordinating the schedule. As a pet center in a small town one should not expect extaordninary service in all situations, for instance customers with challenging pet. By the same token, I feared my shephard would be one of those. However she was so happy with the love and professionalism they provided, she almost wanted to stay;) Now on the fip side, I will offer respectful criticism as everone should and provide them an opportunuty to improve. So with that said, lets work on the scheduling and estimated time of completion. Might even pick up some more Drive-Throughs, as long as they know when to drive through. First let me start by saying that I don't usually take time out of my day to write reviews, but the experience I had at this store today from an employee really prompted me to do so.. I went into petco around 12:30pm with the intent to purchase a turtle and a tank for my daughter's birthday since she really loves them. So, I decided to record a video to send to her so that she could choose the one she wanted, and one of the employees approached me with attitude and said "can you not take pictures of the animals while you're in the store". It was the attitude that really irritated me, and just to be sure, I asked her if she could repeat that cause I didn't hear her, and she proceeded with the same reply along with the same attitude. Needless to say, I walked out of that store and will not be going back. read more

I absolutely love coming here. I have no grooming experience here but I do shop for my pets needs. I have two dogs with special diets and a bearded dragon. I can almost always find what I need and they are always coming out with new and exciting products for me to try. Alexis and Mitchell are amazing. Mitchell is extremely knowledgeable and gives me solid advice. Alexis is always willing to help me with a smile and it never looks forced even when I ask her to get me a ton of crickets from the back. Even on crummy days, her bubbly personality will make you smile. The rest of the crew is always helpful and it's seldom I ever have a problem there. I would consider myself a regular and popping in never seems like a chore. Thank you guys for being such a gem in our little town. We have been going to Petco's Grooming Salon for over 5 years now. We always request Val, the department's manager, because we know she loves our "fur-babies" as much as we do. She is always receptive to their individual needs, and while the groom-time can run a little long, we know it is because she pays attention to their demeanor and attitude, and works accordingly. For instance, one of our dogs hates to be left in the kennel for any length of time. He actually gets stressed out and depressed for days after a groom when he does. We together figured out that was the issue, and we plan ahead now; he is booked for "private" time during non-busy hours, so he spends minimal time in the back. Our other "baby" is extremely skittish, coming to us as a rescue from an abusive home. Val knows all of his "trouble" spots that scare him to work with. She moves slowly, speaks gently, and respects his cues of "I'm done." Some sessions, he won't get all of his planned services done, because he just won't tolerate it, and that's a-ok with me! With her loving patience, he is finally able to tolerate a full groom and nail session without too much stress. He always has a huge doggie-smile and wagging tail to greet us after a groom :D At the end of the day, I will probably never trust another groomer to care for our pets the same way Val does. read more

Expensive, but they're the only store that has the right food for my pets. I actually like their beta fishes as they are healthier looking have a longer life span than Wal-Mart's beta fishes. However... Customer service is poor. They are NOT very friendly and almost every time I go there's NOBODY at the register. No matter how friendly you try to be with them, they won't budge. I would actually enjoy shopping here if they were friendly. A smile goes a LONG ways is what I learn in the customer service business. read more

Not impressed with the grooming service. Took them more than 6 hours to wash and brush my dog. Not sure why they were surprised that a double coated dog doesn't dry in the drier cage.... Duh. When we left the store she peed for almost 5 min indicating she hadn't been walked all day. Not a lot of groomer options in LB, but I would rather just do it myself. read more

First the positive they do maintain a clean store and most of the employees are pleasant (when you can find them on the floor.) The redheaded young lady who "helped" me out check out was unpleasant and you could tell she did not want to be there. When I asked about brands for kittens because I did not know what I was looking for she just rolled her eyes, exasperated, and pointed in the direction of the aisles. I felt uncomfortable and decided to leave. Then considering she may have just had a bad day (let's me honest we all do) I decided to return and this time another employee helped. While they did not have much information, they were trying to find items for me. Turns out this store dose not have a lot of items of kittens but I was able to order online. I also removed a start because this grooming location dose not service cats. I inquired about a nail trim and she informed me I would have to find another location. read more

I do not recommend this to anyone. I am extremely unhappy with the level of service I received with the groomers here I dropped off my 7 month old mini Ausie puppy for a bath and a trim. I asked specifically for his butt to be cut because when he goes to the bathroom it gets stuck in his long hair. They held him for five hours and did not call me one single time. I called at three hours and they said he was still not done yet, okay, two more hours passed and still no call so I called a second time to ask for an update this is when they told me he was afraid of the dryer so he had been air drying... I should have received a call telling he was afraid of the dryer I would have had no problem picking him up a bit damp and he could have air dried at home where he is comfortable not locked in a kennel with no way to go to the bathroom. Their only response to me was we were busy... you are never to busy when you are caring for someone else's family member. I then paid $30 before I was allowed to see him when he came out his butt had not been trimmed which was the entire reason he was there. Overall we had a terrible experience and We will never be back here again! read more

Val did an awesome job doing my dogs nail buffing. She kept her calm, and got the nails nice and short

I take my fur baby, Roxy, to Petco every six weeks for complete grooming and to get her nails buffed. Since my dog hates a hair brush and is an escape artist, I commend the groomers on how well they do with her. She looks and smells terrific when I pick her up. Going back on Christmas Eve so she will be looking and smelling good when our company comes on Christmas day. read more

We have come here a few times, it is the closest Petco to us but after yesterday we may just go to the one in Turlock. We have been getting the dog groomed here monthly since May and have never had any issues really until yesterday. Her appointment was AT 1pm, once I drop her off instead of about the 2 hour window she says give me 3-4 hours I have other dogs still to do and that was fine, we went and ran some errands and ate lunch. I went back 3.5 hour later.. and I'm told they haven't even STARTED on our dog yet! Due to some walk in nail clippings, at that point if you're that FAR behind from the beginning of my appointment walk ins should pend until you either get more help or get caught up! Period, we had an APPOINTMENT that we pay AT least $80-100 each time we go in. So I was told that it shouldn't be too long since she has been there before, so I go do more shopping (we don't live in Los banos) and I go back at 6, I'm waiting around for 30-40 minutes and I find out she's on lunch and my dog STILL isn't finished! She told me she wasn't dry all the way yet and at that point I didn't care because it had been almost 6 hours since her appointment was suppose to start! To me that's ridiculous, I wasn't compensated in any sort of way for the inconvenience and now i probably won't return. read more
