The Marathon Dollar Tree is the best Dollar Tree I have been in. Now, I have lived in The Keys for years, and the Dollar Tree was not always this way. In the last year or two this store has improved dramatically. It is always neat and clean, and product is always stocked up and easy to find. No sifting through a pile to find what may be in there like other stores I have been in. And just as important are the people that work there, kind and always a smile.....same faces for a long time which is highly unusual for a business in the Keys. A testament to good management. I complimented one of the ladies working in the store last week and she seemed genuinely proud of her store. If I need anything for my vacation homes I wait until I am in Marathon to go to a Dollar Tree.

My husband did want that coffee so he ordered an "iced latte" and when he tasted it, it was just cold brewed american coffee in some watered down creamer liquid. Never have I experienced such paranoia as I have when trying to shop at Anthonys in Stuart, FL. Being a severe asthmatic I absolutely cannot wear a mask and Anthony s is a place that insists on it. One word: Politics. In past years I have spent beaucoup amounts of money shopping there though at times I found their prices way out of line given that the quality of the merchandize is mediocre at best. In the same shopping center, new clothing boutiques have sprung up with great merchandize at more reasonable prices. I was able to buy what I needed sans mask. The only signs on the door to these boutiques was "WELCOME" and welcomed I felt. God bless these shop owners and their common sense. Anthonys policy of mask wearing (plus their steep prices) will ultimately be their undoing and I for one will not regret their eventual closing.

The gentleman who owns it bills himself as grouchy and surly, but we weren't fooled. He's clearly passionate about his business, his cat, and his coffee, including commissioning his own personal blend from a local roaster. Our lattes were smooth and delicious (almond and oat milk). Although pricing is pretty reasonable, especially for the Keys, I do wish they didn't charge extra for plant based milks. WIFI is available with a $5 purchase, and there is a variety of books to browse and/or buy while enjoying a coffee or pastry.

But it's packed full of things to the point where getting items off the shelves is difficult, and it's hard to walk through some of the areas for umbrellas and other items sticking out. There are some deals to be had - older items are buy 1 get 1 half off and such, but most of the prices were the same as at any other retailer and the items seem like off-brands and cheap knock-offs.
