Outstanding shopping experience in Marathon, Fl. I was recommended to the store and to sales representative, Maureen. I had planned to buy a bathing suit, but ended up with so much more. Maureen was extremely professional, providing me with a wonderful personal in store shopping experience, and happily called another one of their stores to hold 2 items in my size, not available in Marathon. Cannot recommend Anthony's enough. First, they have adorable clothes and the quality is fabulous. Lilly Pulitzer inspired bright beautiful printed clothes, nice big sale racks, plenty of plain pieces too, yet the quality is comparable to J McLaughlin- the nice cooling chilly yet thick fabrics. I have multiple pieces and they're the first pieces I reach for in my closet. Nancy was an absolute DOLL today. I needed a bathing suit bottom and was getting frustrated with my toddler when she swooped up my daughter and distracted her with coloring. She was so helpful. Never have I experienced such paranoia as I have when trying to shop at Anthonys in Stuart, FL. The manager or store clerk was nasty in her attempts to mask me and though she kept saying "it was policy" and that she was "sorry" she was anything but as she insisted that I leave as I declined the mask. Being a severe asthmatic I absolutely cannot wear a mask and Anthony s is a place that insists on it. One word: Politics. In past years I have spent beaucoup amounts of money shopping there though at times I found their prices way out of line given that the quality of the merchandize is mediocre at best. In the same shopping center, new clothing boutiques have sprung up with great merchandize at more reasonable prices. I was able to buy what I needed sans mask. The only signs on the door to these boutiques was "WELCOME" and welcomed I felt. God bless these shop owners and their common sense. Anthonys policy of mask wearing (plus their steep prices) will ultimately be their undoing and I for one will not regret their eventual closing. read more

My parents live in Marathon in the Florida Keys which makes me a very lucky girl because every time I have to go home for a visit I also get a tropical vacation full of warm weather, fishing, snorkeling, hanging out in tiki bars, and being bit by mosquitoes. Well maybe that last point isn't so lucky, but you've gotta pay a small price for paradise sometimes. :) Almost every time I go home I also end up going to Anthony's because they sell a boatload of dresses and if there's one thing I like to wear it's dresses. While there are a lot of things in here that are pricier than I think is necessary they often have really awesome sale racks that fit into my budget nicely. And they have plenty more than dresses - shorts, capris, bathing suits, cover ups, floppy sun hats, ocean themed jewelry, purses and beach bags, and even a small selection of shoes. They also span pretty much every generation, carrying things like Roxy shorts that look like they would fit my arm for younger teenage types and clothes with patterns that would call to my grandmother's fashion sensibilities in a heartbeat. And my style too so you know somewhere between 14 and 80 years old. For a store on the small to medium scale of things they do a great job carrying a wide variety of items and the ladies working here are amazingly pleasant every time I've been in. But, I suppose if I lived in the islands permanently I'd be pretty pleasant too! read more

I found this store via Yelp.com as I was looking for a swim suit and some clothes from a non-touristy clothing place (you know the ones I am talking about that are EVERWHERE in FLA). First let me say, the staff and ladies here are awesome! They are so friendly and kind and will talk your ear off! But they also go above beyond. I had left my phone in the dressing room while there. The ladies who were working talked to my husband as I tried things on. Later that night, I realised I had left my cell phone. I called Anthonys and sure enough, the ladies had it locked up for me. They had also called the hotel we were staying at in hopes of getting it back to us. We came back to get my phone and also get a few more clothing items. The ladies were really a great help and so nice! The clothes can be a little more pricey, but they also have sales. Great selection of things as well :) read more

This place really does have a fantastic selection of beach and cruise wear. I found the shop through an I sure search for bathing suits and an indirect link from an article about suits for every'body'. I read the history of the shop which intrigued me even more. Any store that can be in business that long is doing something right. The staff seemed too few. I found them a little stand-offish. I was about ten years younger than all the other shoppers in the store on both visits. Neither slowed me down in my goal to find a suit. Mission accomplished. Super cute options for many body sizes. Loved the wonderful assortment of clothes - wish I had more money :-) Overall the prices were on the high side but with sales and coupons everything was attainable. Their accessories were as fashionable as their clothes. A great find for anyone looking for a Florida clothing store... their sizes ranged from 8 to 18, and the ladies were helpful on urging to call other stores. I shopped in Marathon and Ft Myers and have already recommended this shop to family and friends. read more

Anthony's Ladies Apparel is a lovey store with a great selection of ladies apparel. The reason I'm giving them one star is because their advertising is misleading and confusing. If a store posts signs of 30% additional savings off the mark down price, then that's what they need to honor. I attempted to purchase a jacket that was marked down to $59.00 off the clearance rack. When I got to the register I was asked to pay $69.99. I was confused and asked why the jacket was more than the marked down price and I was told because the original price was $79.00. This made absolutely no sense to me so I asked about the sale signs and the additional 30% off from the marked down price of $59.99. I was told by the sales clerk that the 30% additional off was only good for items that had been marked down twice. Then she took me over to a dress on a rack to show me the dress tag and how it had been marked down twice. Seriously, I've never heard of such a thing, but was quickly told that was how it is even though it wasn't advertised that way on the door and inside signs. Another sales clerk interjected the conversation to let me know that if I didn't want the jacket I didn't have to buy it. I said, okay then I'm not interested in purchasing the jacket and left the store. If you're going to shop at Anthony's and they are advertising a clothing sale, ask first if there are any conditions or exclusions on sale items you need to know about before purchasing.
